So cupid missed his arrow both on valentines and white day and now you are mourning your status as a singleton. Well, no worries because there is a day in Korea just for you! April 14th, aka Black Day, is the opportunity for you to get together with your solo unit of friends to chow down on jjajangmyun(noodles with black bean sauce). I say it’s an opportunity because of the chance, however slim, that your eyes will lock with someone as equally appealing and tasty as the noodles. Although personally, Jjangmyun noodles are a difficult dish for a date, so slurping down the noodles would be the real test of love. If the guy/girl likes you despite black bean sauce all over your face, then it’s true love!*
For all the POPSEOUL-ers abroad, jjajangmyun can be found in any Korea town. But for GOOD jjajangmyun, the only place is Korea.
Enjoy!

mmmm, that sounds so delicious.
haha yeah how can I forget this day! XD

oh my god, she’s freaking scary. With that hair and ajuma outfit she looks like a cannibalistic witch eating worm noodles. Not so good—wipe your mouth woman!—gosh, I want to gag. SO not appealing.
that’s why its a test….
the aftertaste of jjajangmyun gives me a massive headache…it’s still good stuff though.
it’s msg and pig fat…that’s what make the sauce so yum
omg i found the recipe for this dish however it seems realli hard to make!
doesn’t anyone know a easier way??
easy- Jjang-myun recipe
(1) oil in pan, 1 diced onion & add a crushed clove or 2 of garlic and fry fry!
(2) another dollop of oil in a fry pan and then add the jang and fry it-mixing it up… keep stirring and then it will get all nice and bubbly
(3) add goodies – i usually use seafood, squid, clams etc…stir fry – takes about 5 mins
(4) meanwhile boil some noodles, if you don’t have the refrigator noodles sold in korea specially for jjajang, then use ramen noodles-
(5) thinly slice up some cucumber
(6) drain noodles, add to bowl top with sauce and then lastly sliced cucumber
(7) EAT
simple and delicious!
