The ever polite Dong Hae apologized for his outburst via Super Junior’s official website yesterday. His apology letter seemed very sincere and it helped put out the fan flames, but the fire is not out yet.
He’s facing another round of criticisms from concerned citizens and industry watchers who believe that Hallyu stars’ behaviors abroad impacts Korea’s image among foreigners. They reason that since Korea is not well known, foreigners will form opinions about Korea based on how Hallyu stars behave in their country and consequently Dong Hae’s swearing earned Korea a bad rep.
Wow, when did idol stars become so influential that they make or break Korea’s image? Somebody should tell Governor Lee that he should audition to become a SM trainee instead of running for the presidency. Seriously, people, let it go. And if you are really concerned about Korea’s image, write to the Korean Tourism Organization about it’s embarrassing new logo “Korea, Sparkling!“

its so silly to get worked up over a silly incident i mean if a crowd of people were all up in your face you would tell them to f off too..there are so many things happening in the world right now more real and important things..i’m sure the foreingers will still flock to Korea no matter what..one incident isn’t going to ruin Korea’s image..people need to calm down and breathe..
i’m not really a fan of SUJU but i have to say, people are taking this way too seriously. yes, he might have tarnished some reputation here, but i’m talking about donghae’s own reputation rather than the image of korea. the media loves blowing things up, who really in the right mind would hold it against korea for donghae’s behavior? korean or not, donghae’s a human being with emotions and feelings. so let’s just relate it this way, should we instead blame the WORLD for causing donghae’s behavior, of course not DUH. it’s just a matter of weeks before people forget about the whole thing. concerned citizens and industry watchers should just take a breather and start empathizing before pointing fingers.

Huh?? Korea`s image was tarnished because of SuJu??!?! When??? Hmm. am not really a biiiig fan of SuJu too but I do like them and thier songs but DongHae behaving like this and hating him for it would be too shallow.. I mean, just because he’s a popstar and all he cant curse and smoke??? Being a popstar isnt always about perfection..

u must understand the korean culture..being polite and respect is very important in their daily life what more being rude..u cannot compare koreans and americans..it’s a diff culture altogeher..even speaking the language..they have diff words and ways to use on diff people..

Respect is a two way street. I’ve seen vids on YT of girls basically losing their minds when around super junior, etc. Yelling, pulling, etc. That ish gets annoying i can imagine. Celebrity or not. If you want someone to respect you, you better respect them.
just my opinion, but donghae is a person to. he can mistakes and he swears just like everyone else. he’s only human like people said. i know korean culture is different, but i dont think this one incident will cause the tarnish of the reputation. they should put gasoo’s on that high pedestal they might fall off. let’s cut him some slack. this is the life of a celebrity.. people look, people stalk and whatnot.

okay, so he was crowded with thousands of fans. I understand that its really frustrating. But, those fans love him and he needs to understand that.
