Shot gun wedding for Ivy?

ivy-wedding.jpg

The flowers are in bloom and with it comes wedding season. For Korea, it’s a bit early for wedding season- the endless blue skies and cool weather of the fall season are ideal for Korean brides-t0-be. But here we see sexy singer and Reebok model, Ivy already in a wedding dress? What’s going on? Although she would indeed make a lovely bride,  the girl is not getting married.  The white dress that she has donned on is for a CF that she is currently shooting. Speaking of shotgun weddings though, a friend of mine announced recently via email that she had just gotten married on Monday! She met the guy in February (yes, in 2007) and practically on the 2nd day of meeting, he told her that they were getting married (can you tell that he is Korean?). She had another man at the time (long distance, it’s complicated), but soon after broke it off with the old bf and walked down the aisle with the new! Congratulations girl! I guess when you know, you know. *

    speaking of shot and gun

im surprised to see that popseoul has not posted anything about the virgina tech massacre

i figured this was a site about korea, so these would be something about it, seeing as how the gunman was korean

although im sure that your deepest condolnces go out to the families, at least post south koreas offical statement, or something like that

thanks for your thoughts..actually both of us were contemplating whether or not it is appropriate for us to write something about the Virginia Tech massacre since our site is mostly about poking fun at celebs…

but because this is a huge incident affecting Koreans worldwide, we decided to write about it…
we are currently working on the story and we’ll post it soon..

our deepest condolences to the families..and may they all rest in peace…

I heard that he was 23 and was in States about 17 years. But it’s very sad what happened whoever was the killer.

(sorry for my english :D )

Yes, the gunman was Korean but that doesn’t obligate Popseoul to post something about it. If something is posted it should be merely to show sympathy and compassion for those that were lost. The fact that the young man-troubled to say the least-was Korean, having anything to do with the shooting is just as ridiculous as him having worn a black shirt that day and those who wore black shirts that day should also feel somehow connected with him and the crime.

I don’t think that the shared ethnicity should make Koreans feel any differently. This crime had nothing to do with race (at least one Korean was among those killed). I think that we Koreans need to step up and protect ourselves from further racial tension resulting from this tragedy, and the first step in doing that is to make ethnicity less of a focus (thereby not posting something for the reason that he was KOREAN but because this tragedy affects everyone through human compassion).
