Away from the neon lights of the infamous H. hill in Itaewon, loud and proud gay comedian Hong Suk-chon ventured over to Dae-hak-ro for the opening party of the musical, “The Donkey Show.” Just from these pictures, the show seems too flashy for the uptight, conservative Kangbuk community, but perhaps this is exactly what the north side of the river needs- a bit of a shakeup - literally! Check out the dancer’s aqua blue sparklies! Mr. Hong sure is!*
Other stars spotted: singers Wax and Kim Min-jong.
The donkey show opens April 28.

haha, there’s gay people in Korea? I guess being influenced by the thai culture, I always find it strange that Korean TV shows or culture don’t acknowledge homosexuality. In thai drama and culture, the gay population is always represented. They play the funny sidekick or the servant or the mediator of the leading guy or girl in dramas. They even have MISS transgender pageant.
I been watching a lot of K-dramas for the past few months and there is no gay representation. They exist, people! Come on now, Korea needs to get real! There is nothing wrong with homosexuality. gosh!
The donkey show looks stupid, being gay is not always about being controversial or overly sexual. They didn’t really need to be dressing in neon light aqua blue undies and doing a strip tease. Gosh. homosexuality is a normal thing. They are just falling to the prey of stereotypes.
Absolutely annoyed!
umm weird clothing haha…there are some things that I don’t need to see but anyways ~ Kim Jong Min from Koyote? That’s odd to me lol.
Wow, I didn’t realize the (stereotypically) flamboyantly gay waiter in Sad Love Story was actually gay!
I also thought Korea was a very conservative country~ but then its a modern century now and koreans it seems are very open to sexuality and liberalism.. i dont think theres wrong with it. we cant be hypocrites forever..
lyn- there is gay representation once in a while, but usually played by straight men…..or perhaps in the closet?
I’ve seen some dramas with gays like in Jumong the guy Sayong there is gay XD
kim jung min the a solo artist/actor (not the rapper from koyote) was spotted at the donkey show opening
That last picture is KIM MIN JONG, the singer and actor. Not Kim Jong Min from Koyote, not Kim Jung Min from Panic, but Kim Min Jong.
SAW THE SHOW. IT’S AMAZING. SO DARN SEXY!
