No, they are not a couple. But 2 couples have just announced breakups: Que Sera Sera’s Eric and his lovely lady, Park Shiyeon as well as Hyunbin and Hwang Ji-hyeon. Hyunbin’s romance with Ms Hwang did not last after their public announcement - they officially broke up 2 months ago, but the news just hit now. Rumors abound that Ms Hwang was using Hyunbin since he was more famous of the pair.
In addition, there was a bit of a mix up late last week when news spread that Park Shiyeon and Eric had broken up. First, there was news that it had happened, then the news was retracted, and then finally, their respective management companies publicly acknowledged the split. Poor Park Shiyeon ran off to Thailand to nurse her broken heart… It must be the weather or something. Other stars who split recently are Tony and Nam Kyu-ri, Oh Ji-heon & Tae Sa-bi.
Every so often this blog sends out false information and this Tony/Nam Gyu Ri couple thing is something that I can’t let pass. Tony and Nam Gyu Ri were never a couple to begin with. She explained they only have a sunbae-hoobae relationship and he takes not only her, but her group members out to eat as a senior and nothing more.

In our own defense, we would like to address some of your claims about “false or misleading” posts on our blog.
First of all, we would like to remind you that there are conflicting reports even in Korean media - a case in point, recent Eric & Shiyeon’s break-up. For about three days, some newspapers were reporting that they are on and had a fight while others confirmed the break-up. After a couple of days, everything was straightened out, but this is also what we have to work with.
We have to figure out what’s going on based on these conflicting reports and we will be the first to say that sometimes it’s a challenge to weed out the truth. It’s not like we can call up these celebs and ask, hey is that scandalous report true? It would be great if that was the case, but most of the times, if there are conflicting reports in the “real” mediascape, then our posts are educated guess based on conflicting reports, our understanding and experience of the entertainment biz and Korean culture.
So, what we are trying to say is that yes, sometimes you will read conflicting reports, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that our reports are “false or misleading.” Our reports are based on what we read - and these sources are credible Korean news organizations. It’s very possible that you’ll encounter another report that’s different from our angle of the story - but let me remind you that this happens all the time in media, especially in the star biz. And I don’t think we’ve reported any glaring false reports for some of you to be making claims like this.
Lastly, stories evolve and we try our best to keep you up to speed on what’s going on, but sometimes, there just isn’t enough time in the day to re-address or follow every single celeb news out there.
