POPSEOUL readers, check out Colbert’s piece on pop sensation Rain. It’s hilarious and I love Colbert’s remake of Rain’s “how to avoid the sun” (태양을 피하는 방법). And I have to say it’s impressive that him and bi are at the top of the list, I really hope this will help with bi’s exposure in the US. At this point in time…I think he’s the one Korea artist who has a chance at making it in the US.
Eve, I doubt that Rain will make it to US. It’s nothing to be impressed that Rain is no.1 on the Time’s. we all know how he got there.
by the way, i think Rain’s fans have too much time on their hands. I just saw two petitions on petitiononline.com regarding Rain. One is a request for Rain to rest and another to request him to have a conncert in Germany. Don’t his fans have their own lives besides going to his concerts and voting for him online?
I think Rain will get his reputation in US. If you’re being made fun of by the media, you’re somebody. Look at Paris.

I died laughing when I watched that this morning it’s hilarious. Hopefully this make him start really practicing his English. Tons of people watch Colbert’s show so he need to be up on his game.
As for gurl maybe you should stop worrying about Rain’s fans. What are they possibly doing to you? So what people want to support there artist. I’m sure you want to support yours so chill.
sorry, I don’t support any artist/entertainer. They’re nobody to me. Even if I ever did support anybody, it would be an intellectual/artistically person (and definitely not Rain) who had contributed to the world/community. It’ll never be some second-hand artists. hallelujah… Just reading the news/gossips from the show biz industry for fun and in my spare time online. Also, sorry too that I’m not worrying about the Rain’s fans. I just find them ridiculously funny with their over-zealous love for Rain.
So funny! I haven´t understood all Steve Colbert said but i think he shows a lot of respect to Rain in his jokes. It seems he has a great work in the video´s parody, he dances quite similar!!!!

this’ll definitely raise Rain’s exposure in the states, but god no i hope he doesn’t make it on the Colbert Report in person. rain’s english is by far his greatest handicap and it’s nowhere near good enough to come out of a colbert experience without looking foolish. colbert and the people who watch that show are sharp and merciless.

Sorry to point out again, I don’t know why should Colbert be mad at Rain or why Colbert is a hater (from the other post about Rain too). We obviously see a difference from Rain’s fans’ comments and ordinary people’s comments. One’s is totally nonsense (we all know whose).

I kind of agree that the Colbert Report is a big coup for Rain, intended or no. A lot of people would see that and at least have their interest piqued by it…

The Colbert piece on rain is so hilarious. It’s just his way of admitting that Rain is more famous than him. And I think that given Rain’s talent, he can make it in the US market, given some time for him to master the language that is.
Regarding Korea’s comment on Colbert’s show, it just show how different culture clashes. Good or bad publicity, they are still publicity and it will definitely benefit Rain in the end.
Hope that the movie will push through, i love to see Rain act again.
