So, despite the fact that his fans adored him for his pretty boy looks, he secretly visited his surgeon to raise his nose and clip his eyes and voila - here’s the beefed up Hwanhee with a higher nose, scarier eyes and gangster like vibe.
What was Brian thinking letting Hwanhee destroy himself like that? Oh yeah, he wasn’t there to stop Hwanhee from it because he was out with his #1 pal Eru. But it’s okay because Hwanhee has a new girl is by his side. Nobody seems to know who this new chick is, but it looks like they have some kind of chemistry going on.

It seems like a dangerous move to make when your fanbase knows you as the pretty one with the little boy face and then you go completely the other way for…rugged? I mean both looks are attractive, I suppose, it just seems rather drastic and unwise move, potentially alienating your fanbase. But time again, I have learned that I have nooo idea how Korean PR works. (It really makes me think I could do their job. Really.)

I love FTTS in general. But what has Hwanhee done?! I’m not trying to bash but his new looks kind of scares me a bit. I miss the old pretty boy Hwanhee… But I guess this look works.
It’s widely accepted that a lot of artists in Korea have had plastic surgery, but I could imagine how distressing it would be for Hwanhee’s fans as their idol, which they’ve known for long, now looks drastically different.
I’m not against plastic surgery and I respect people’s freedom in making their own decisions in life. I like both Hwanhee and Brian in FTTS as I respect them as talented, skilful singers. Still I feel quite uneasy about the completely different look of a singer I like.
I’d agree with a previous comment that I’d go for just listening to FTTS’ songs from now on, rather than having to go through the torture of seeing a foreign face singing in a voice of the good old Hwanhee that I’ve known.
Having said that, I do hope that Hwanhee is coping fine with all the negative attention going on in the media. I’m still looking forward to FTTS new songs =)
Brian had a crisis with the media years ago with his comments on the rape of schoolgirls in Korea by American soldiers. As time went by, people just forgot about this incident. However, for Hwanhee, I guess he has to live with his new look from now on. And everytime people see him on television, they will be reminded of the old Hwanhee they used to know… Sigh* There’s no turning back for Hwanhee. I guess he just has to be strong and stay confident about the decision he’s made.

Before his surgery, he looked way better! His nose irritates me now. As for the double eyed lids, so many celebrities have done it before that it doesn’t really matter since the list is endless.
