Yes, it was weird, but it was totally unique to Korea, and individuality and creativity are sorely lacking in today's Korean pop culture. Every Korean guy rips off Justin Timberlake, and every Korean girl rips off Britney Spears or some other American pop star. A step back in my opinion. I’m probably in the minority, but I actually liked Korean pop style in the 90s.
