Obviously some of our fellow Koreans didn’t understand his sarcasm the first time around and I won’t be surprised to see them miss the point again, but it’s a good laugh for all of us who get Colbert’s humor. colbert rocks if korean people would do some research before going nuts about it they would understand the humor and this is a super boost for Rain!!!! he is getting good publicity on US television!!!

i think there was some confusion in Korea b/c they didn’t understand the context of the parody or what the colbert show is all about. it was mostly netizens and fans who made a big issue of it and the media just reported on it. but it wasn’t really a huge backlash against colbert. from what i heard, most news sites presented both sides of the argument… but everyone knows how some netizens are. there’s just no reasoning with them.
i personally found the original mv and this response to the korean media hilarious! i think colbert’s intention is for people to laugh AT him not WITH him.
