Sneak Preview: Never Forever

I never realized how good Ha Jung Woo was until I finished the hit drama series H.I.T (Homicide Investigation Team) starring Ko Hyun Jung. He isn’t your typical drop dead gorgeous actor, but oh man, the man knows how to act and I guess it doesn’t hurt that he’s the son of a veteran actor Kim Yoong Gun.

Okay, back to the movie. Never Forever is about a seemingly “perfect” marriage between a Caucasian woman (Vera Farmiga) and a very successful Asian businessman (David McInnis), but in reality the marriage is anything but perfect. In the wife’s desperate attempt to salvage the marriage, she tries to conceive a child with another man - an illegal immigrant (Ha Jung Wo) who lives in Chinatown no less. On top of that, she offers to pay him US$300 every time they have sex and another $30,000 if she gets pregnant.

This “arrangement” is sort of strange, but it’s refreshing to see a white woman married to an Asian male in a movie. This movie was at Sundance and there are conflicting reviews - some are absolute fans while others are critical about this movie, but I’m already a fan. Can’t you tell?

*Never Forever will open in theaters on June 21st.

Gina Kim is a fukkin genius on so many different levels for making this movie. Its a business decision and a very good one at that.

This isn’t the first time that I’ve seen a film where a Caucasian woman and an Asian guy hook up. Anyone ever watched “The Bruce Lee Story”? (Bruce and Linda Lee?)

^I never knew such a movie existed.

I’ve actually never heard of anything like this film. Not that thats surprising. I’ll definitely have to keep an eye out for this film.

i saw this preview at the movie theaters while watching secret sunshine (the jun do hyun award one, which i thought was horrible but artsy) and it was so horrible i couldnt even watch it (the preview). it was sort of embarrassing to me.

I saw this movie and it’s really well done. Ha Jung Woo is amazing- and the director is a female Korean (young and super talented). I recommend this to all!

Have been a fan of Ha Jung Woo ever since watching the movie ‘The Unforgiven’. He is the main reason why I want to watch H.I.T and the movie Time.

I’ve been trying to see where this movie will air. Any ideas about the cities it will show in (outside of Korea of course)?

Not into movies like this. If she loved her husband that much then she definitely wouldn’t have a baby with another man. They could always adopt. However, she may be trying to get knocked up by another man to save her marriage because her husband is loaded and/or high society and she doesn’t want him to dump her.

I am a great fan of Ha Jung-Woo and have been following his work for quite some time now. I first saw him “Lovers In Prague” drama series as Jeon Do Yeon’s bodyguard. Then on, I follow him where ever he goes…

Excellent actor, great potential and very handsome…

I think he has the makings of a great actor and will succeed in his career!
