SuJu fans are killers Part II

The reaction of Lee Eun Ji’s suicide is somewhat mixed, demonstrating the complexity of this issue. First of all SM commented “What can we say? We are shocked by this as well.” Personally, I wasn’t surprised by SM’s comment, but they could’ve done more than just say we don’t know what to say. Why couldn’t they dedicate a song to her? Why couldn’t they attend her funeral services? Why didn’t they stop all activities for a day or two in memory of their fan? After all, Lee Eun Ji was SuJu’s fan just like any other die-hard fan and just continuing with their activities as if nothing happened seemed inconsiderate if not obnoxious.

Star King’s producers wrote on their message board that they are heartbroken to see a very bright girl end her life tragically and aired a minute tribute in memory of Lee Eun Ji. And finally Elves (SuJu fans) released a public apology letter apologizing for what they did. I’m glad to see some Elves taking responsibility of their actions, but what angers me most is that Lee Eun Ji’s cyworld post back in May clearly demonstrated that she was suffering from depression, but Elves just continued to torture the poor girl.

Lee Eun Ji mentioned that she went up to her attic several times because she thought that it was better to end her life than to continue with her rigorous diet (she starved herself for three months, drinking only one or two cups of milk daily). She also cried her heart out saying it’s very difficult to deal with all the crap she’s currently going through. Before her weight loss, people treated her like a pig and after her weight-loss people are treating her like a liar (some were accusing her of losing weight via plastic surgery and/or diet pills). Any sensible person would’ve realized that this girl is suffering a lot and that she’s in fragile condition, but Elves ignored her plead and continued to attack her, which apparently pushed Lee Eun Ji over the edge.

I just hope that this isn’t “hey I apologized and my conscience is clear” kind of deal. Instead, I hope that all fans learn the gravity of hateful comments towards celebs and fans to prevent future tragedies like this. Am I asking for too much?

damn those fans who hurted her! not a fan of super junior either! i hate people like that who look down on others! f*ck those people! i hope she is resting in peace and that she will have a better life in her next life or whatever she believe in.

i personally think that you should change the title.
you’re making it sound like EVERY elf is a kiler.
im an elf, & i have nothing to do w/ this.

    • 3 Sucks-but July 24, 2009 at 1:41 pm

Super Junior + ELF = One. SuJu ELFs consider themselves as “One”, not individual members, but as “One” group. So if the ELF community believes in this, then the title does fit with the article. It may be harsh, but it is the truth.

  3. 4 ELFrescuee March 6, 2008 at 4:08 pm

ok. as i said before: NOT ALL ELFS R GOING TO KILL PPL!

i still admit that those ELFs did the worst thing that could be imagined (?), but no reason to go around bashing every single ELF around.

  4. 5 Cath March 10, 2008 at 3:56 pm

Agree…Change the damn title!! No need to put label on all SUJU fans. I’m a big fan of SUJU myself and I would never do such a thing.
I know what ELFs did was pretty extreme and they should never do that. It didn’t give them anything out of it and it just brought SUJU and other ELFs a bad name.
However, to say that “SUJU fans are killers” is pretty ridiculous and ignorant.

  5. 6 j March 22, 2008 at 2:25 pm

man, suju and dbsk should really give their fans personal messages about stuff like this too. like encourage their fans to spread the love and not get jealous and stuff. fans would do anything for their idols anyway.

  6. 7 Juhi April 3, 2008 at 4:32 pm

Wowow..that is horrible of wat tho crazy thing did to her..i felt really sad to her…Tho crazy fans r gona regret soooo hard on wat they did to that girl…

  7. 8 amber April 3, 2008 at 5:05 pm

i think the fans from elves who took part in the taunting of this poor girl are just wrong. no apoligy will bring this poor girl back. but many people do stupid things because their imature idiots. saying sorry is the least, you can do. as for superjunior and sm i believe an apolygy is enough because all they did was take a piture with the girl how were they suppose to know the actions of other people. would it make suju fans happy if they stopped taking picture with other fans altogether? no it wouldn’t so the blame shouldnt be put on them it should be put on the crazy fans who went too far. and cause this poor girl to end her life. take responsability for your actions.

  8. 9 Alysia April 4, 2008 at 10:12 am

I know this is old… but, here’s a crazy long post.

I don’t understand why anyone would crazy over a picture. I mean, I’ve seen people with my idols, and I was simply like, lucky girl. All the other fans were like that also. Then again, the celebrity was the “jae joong look alike” Jang yoo joon… but still. I will never understand fans’ obsession over people they don’t even know. Even when I say I’m “obsessed” I’m not anything CLOSE to what these fans are like. Likewise, I will never understand why antifans feel compelled to but every strength in their body to hate and kill someone they don’t even know personally.

For those who think the title should be changed: this is a BLOG. Popseoul can name it whatever she wants. And I KNOW that she doesn’t mean all Suju Fans. And even the nonsuju fans know this as well, because we READ and have SENSE, unlike those fans.

For those who think that the girl was weak: You weren’t in her situation. When you’re depressed, you’re not going to have as much motivation to live as you do right now. How do you know exactly how you’d respond? Example, before, I never had been in a car crash before, but when I did, I was surprised at my reaction, or actually, my lack of reaction. I thought nothing. Previously I thought I would have panicked, but evidently I didn’t. So unless you are in her situation, you never know how you’d respond. Now that you said that, I hope you don’t get in that situation, because when you do commit suicide, the you right now are calling yourself weak and cowardly. She’s not the only one who was pushed to suicide because of fans. Korean celebrities were even pushed to suicide. These people most likely worked their ass off to get to their place. In the entertainment industry you have to be mentally strong in order to succeed. Are you calling these people weak?

And FYI, harsh comments when a person is down are VERY painful. I’ve experienced this before. You feel absolutely worthless and you wonder why you continue living. Fortunately for me, the harsh comments stopped early, and I was able to continue living normally.

And, btw, its possible that the fans don’t feel bad for what they did. Example, when a korean celebrity commited suicide because of the comments on her blog from anti fans, one of these fans wrote in her own blog, “I’m glad that slut is dead” I’m not saying that they absolutely weren’t guilty, but it’s possible.

    I hope they were.

Again, I will never understand the obsessiveness and the hatred of these type of fans.

And… Suju writing a song would not have been a good idea. The suicide rate would have gone up. Though I do think some sort of memorial for her would have been nice. Suju’s not responsible, but their fans are. Why can’t entertainers just tell their fans to STOP and that they don’t support their actions?

And why are the people commenting nitpicking spelling? Grammar is slightly more understandable if the person is obviously fluent in english. But people make mistakes. I’m sure I did. It shouldn’t be pointed out during an argument.

    • 10 Omey July 2, 2009 at 5:33 pm

I totally loved your comment. I 100 percent agree. To me I think the reason the super junior didn’t say anything to their fans is either they thought they didn’t have to do with it or felt that if they said anything they might lose fans or something and without fans they would go down.

      • 11 gog November 5, 2009 at 10:38 am

“…if they said anything they might lose fans or something and without fans they would go down.”

        I agree with that comment…
suju is like merely impressing people and not expressing love and sincerity with their actions…
they make ‘crazy things’ JUST to gain attention…

  9. 12 kat April 22, 2008 at 5:28 am

i wouldnt even bash a girl like eun ji. the fact is..she was treated like a pig when she’s fat. i can feel it. altho im born thin but i never believe in making fun of others? SHe must have really tried losing weight and i think i can see thru her motive that she appear in star king with a simple pure intention..that is..to show to the people..and also..indirectly tell these people esp those who made fun of her that she is not a pig anymore? obviously those who detest her and call her names would have watch the show not knowing she would feature in it. and perhaps its just so happen super junior was the guess and she happen to be a fan who took photo with her idol.

and this bloody elves is so stupid to bash her like that with no brain. I tot ELF like suppose to be elegant, kind fairy just like in the Lord Of the Rings. but these elves are hideous ok!

elves are official fan..and so is eun ji-a fan..its like they are in the same boat but stab each other’s back. must as well the elves just bash each other to the point they commit suicide whenever each elf get to take picture with suju members. do that just like how u did to eun ji..am i not making a point here???

korean fans are so hysterical abt everything..its like the idols are their property or something. must as well you debut in US..u may face discrimination but fans leave you alone if they dont like you. what elves did was INHUMAN. what SM commented was even TACTLESS. i feel pity for eun ji. i hope she rest in peace.

  10. 13 tt August 4, 2008 at 2:06 pm

i think those elves are so bobo im a fan of suju too but to go to that extent for just a picture is so messed up and shouldn’t you be happy for people you care about so that means those elves really don’t care about super junior and only care their selllfish selves

  11. 14 ngannie August 15, 2008 at 1:28 pm

as an ELF i feel really sorri for her
but those ELFs really need to think more
goddamn it! dey really need to stay wit da real-life situation
    stop thinking dat’ll help SUJU
[to da ELFs who were involve] if one day u meet SuJu
den took a pix wit them
n share it wit ur online friends
how happi u were to be able to take a pix wit them
n den end up being attack just for da pix
    how da F u think u’ll feel?
u might hve a strong mind, but i dont think wit all da attacks keep coming
    so think it up
stop making ppl disliking da word ELF more!
aniwaz i still feel proud for being call ELF
i dont do those dmn thing so wat

    This still breaks my heart….

  13. 16 Heisei Gannen November 4, 2008 at 5:49 am

    To KT…

I think Popseoul is right… Some fans are really way over board. Like you, if you don’t like how Popseoul titles her post then don’t read it. If you can’t understand what Popseoul is trying to point then what makes you any different than those close-minded elves. They pushed a girl to commit suicide, if they are not killer then I don’t know what they are.

  14. 17 Terry November 23, 2008 at 12:19 am

I just came across this website by accident and if i’m honest the first thing i noticed was Lee Eun-ji’s picture, so beautiful…. Then i started reading her story, i’m not usually an emotional guy but tears hit my chest like bullets.

Humans can be so cruel, she must have felt so hated to have put a rope around her neck. I hope she rests in peace and the Angels turn her tears of fear into smiles of hope and laughter and that those evil enough to have emailed her hate mail and to have called her with frets, that God has mercy on your soul because her blood is on your hands and personally i’d rather be with her in heaven then to live with the shame of knowing i had a part in her death.

Lee Eun-ji, i never knew you but when you were lost in the dark and couldn’t see and had nowhere to go…..i wish i could have been that light for you.

    I’m so sorry.
    RIP

  15. 18 Lysha November 23, 2008 at 2:21 pm

Whats the big deal?! It’s just a picture taken with a SuJu member. They REALLY ARE hardcore fans.

  16. 19 ilovesuju94 December 11, 2008 at 2:38 am

I personally agree with all of the suju fans here! i surpport you! Like Angeltuek and KT.
Some asked to change the tittle. and i agree too!
Youre making every single suju fan looks like a killer! And thats bad cause some of them are not! And please….. its ELF and not Elves. Different meaning! Go look in the dictionary…
I’m not being rude or something, just dont blame the WHOLE ENTIRE ELF in the world! And btw, your post stated “anti-fans” right?
Its anti-fans of suju who did that to her. not suju fans.
Dont blame it on the fans! Its antis you should blame!
(please correct me if i’m wrong somewhere, Please dont write harsh comments cause i’m A whole suju fan! I’m and ELF!)

  17. 20 mindorisunye March 17, 2009 at 12:58 am

    ^ lol.
    butthurt fan.
elf = elves, it’s just the same.

  18. 21 xviicys April 9, 2009 at 2:02 pm

Omg what the hell is this….. Those “elves” are so desperate.

I bet they’re all really ugly and fat. Haha.

  19. 22 Erica May 14, 2009 at 2:22 am

I’m sorry, but an apology isn’t going to bring that girl back. All of those people whom was part of this should of thought of that before they start targeting a poor young girl like that and maybe she would of be alive today. But anyway I hope that she is in a better place.
I strongly believe that SUJU and DBSK should really tell their fans to stop with all those threaten notes and find other ways to handle their jealous like harmless ones. I know that not every fan of there is off like that, because I’m a fan of both of them and I’m far from crazy. But the ones that are just need to know that their idols that they are so crazy about don’t like it when they misbehave like that. But then again the ones that are that obsess to actually do something like this still wouldn’t listen, because I remember Super Junior M(while Ryeowook did while they was in China) telling their fans to stop acting overly obsess and crazy over them. He please much ask his fans to stop stalking them everyone they went, because there fans was follow them to their hotel rooms. He wanted them to support them in a safety zone like buy a cd or attend a concert. As you can see they aren’t listening. But I think if you are that obsess over any celebrity then you don’t need to be a fan, because you might do something that might end like this. I highly doubt the fans whom are that obsess to actually do something like this will actually stop. So last just hope that anyone whom get harass with hate mails would just ignore them and don’t end up killing themselves. But I don’t think that will happen. All I have to say is that no one I mean no one is worth killing yourself over. So all my fellow people whom is reading this ignore the haters and keep your head up. But you if have depression don’t end your life get some help first or talk to someone about it before you do anything permanent like this, because depression is very common and isn’t permanent so you can get help for it.

I don’t think SUJU should of done a song dedicate to her, because all that is going to do is cause all those people whom was part of this to end up killing themselves. But I think SUJU should of at least acknowledge her dead like attending her funeral services or telling the ones whom cause this that their behavior was wrong and they shouldn’t behave that way, or R.I.P. Lee Eun Ji or something. They should of at least act like they cared. But I think both SUJU and DBSK want their fans to behave and stop acting that obsess over them and let them live their lifes, but I think they are too afraid too since they still want their fans to support them and don’t want to upset them.

RIP Lee Eun Ji I hope that you will find your own little piece of paradise, because no one deserve to go through what she went through.

  20. 23 air May 17, 2009 at 1:59 pm

    heart broken~!
now i’m starting to hate ELF not Suju..
please just support Suju.. and don’t get too obsessed with their private live..
rest in peace for eun ji..

  21. 24 andrea June 6, 2009 at 6:43 pm

i dont think those r fans… i think they r either obssd with suju or hates suju to have any contact with other fans exept themselves!!!!

  22. 25 Misa July 12, 2009 at 10:21 am

i understand what that girl is feeling. i’ve been put down so much that i even thought about suicide. i’m tellin you…IT’S NOT A GOOD FEELING. being depressed is one thing that anyone can go through just for some mean comment to bring them even lower. Elves, for this matter went overboard. she didn’t do anything, so why was she tortured until her death? it’s very unreasonable. i’m NOT saying ALL elves are the lowest of the low, i’m just saying these types of actions are the most hateful thing anyone, even you, can go through. SUJU, wasn’t at fault either. they didn’t do anything, yet i do feel like they should have stopped their work for a while to give a little reception for a die-fan who’s supported them, i don’t know, since they debuted? but then again… i hope nothing like this happens. if it does i just hope that anymore bad-elves are ready to face some consequences.

  23. 26 Cindy July 17, 2009 at 11:53 am

I hope Lee Eunji is resting in sweet paradise.. I am a Super Junior fan, but I would never cross the line . Im sorry to say that there are ‘extreame’ fans out there, and I dont think they should be calling themselves an ELF if they would do something like this. This effected Super Junior too… I hope they learned a lesson here… even if it had to be the hard way.

  24. 27 sheenj July 26, 2009 at 9:23 pm

maybe they just used the ELF’s name… ^^
i will still support suju no matter what happen…^^
    it’s not suju’s fault… ~~~
    R.I.P lee eun ji…

  25. 28 CRAZY FAN July 28, 2009 at 9:04 pm

    R.I.P LEE EUN JI
I wish those girls would suffer forever.
    That’s why I don’t like korean fans.
Its like they own the artist they idolize and become hysterical whenever they see there Idol lingering on somenone or anything. They are such a big humiliation in their country.

  26. 29 CRAZY FAN July 28, 2009 at 9:05 pm

    well.not all korean fans..

  27. 30 -------- August 12, 2009 at 3:16 pm

    RIP
She seems like a nice girl that just wanted a chance
    Some Elfs are crazy
but not all of us are
    I’m glad they apologized though
however, they should have at least attended the funeral

  28. 31 suju fan September 27, 2009 at 7:26 pm

hey… i noe that this article was quite some time ago (abt 2 years ago) but your last paragraph: “I just hope that this isn’t “hey I apologized and my conscience is clear” kind of deal. Instead, I hope that all fans learn the gravity of hateful comments towards celebs and fans to prevent future tragedies like this. Am I asking for too much?” really touched me.

Sad to say but… looks like we are asking too much. another actress (i don’t remember her name) but she was acting as one of the mean girls in BOF also committed suicide due to antifans.

and of course, the jaybeom incident. he didn’t really die but 3000+ people signed a suicide petition for him. i really don’t know what to say… are all antifans like this? or just korean antifans? this is crazy.
