SuJu is going to re-make H.O.T’s hit song Happiness. I can’t believe that it has been already 10 years since I first heard that song.
DBSK recently designed T-shirts and they are on sale so you can wear their T-shirts as you listen to their music, search online for their latest news and purchase their concert tickets and anything else that is branded as DBSK.
SS501 & DBSK are both releasing their single on the same date, August 2nd in Japan. However, this is DBSK’s 12th single, while it’s SS501’s first single in Japan. I don’t think it’s the best strategy for these identical looking idol groups to be targeting the Japanese teens at the same time, but good luck to all!
Big Bang member Top is taking acting lessons these days to prepare for his role in the upcoming drama I am Sam. He will play a high school jjang (can be translated as the popular kid or a bully) and the drama will air on August 6th on KBS. It’s too bad that he didn’t just stay with hip-hop. Obviously, Se7en’s failure in Goong S did not teach YG a lesson after all!
Min Hyo Rin or luxury nose girl was voted as the most popular female singer among soldiers. Apparently, Korean soldiers have good taste, preferring cutesy singers over the sexy-borderline-slutty singers, such as Suh In Young and Lee Hyori. Congrats Hyo Rin!

Between this whole DBSK vs. SS501 thing, I’m all for DBSK. Even though their Japanese singles aren’t anywhere up to par with their Korean stuff [on a whole]… it’s their 12th single, so I guess that should give them some credibility. …

As for the TOP acting thing, I’m actually really excited. I don’t think it’s really right to judge based off the Se7en fiasco. After all, Goong was an established franchise, they had some random sequel, and there were too many fights between the two production companies so of course the drama didn’t do as well as it should’ve :/ But that’s just the way I see it.

Thank you for the update Popseoul. I have been wondering as to what the different groups were up to.
As for the inevitable debate regarding the simultaneous release date of SS501 and DBSG’s Japanese albums, I support both groups and wish the best for both.
Regarding who will have the higher album sales, then it should come as no surprise if DBSG will have high album sales, because they are already established in Japan AND they have a much bigger fanbase in Korea (and elsewhere worldwide).
But a couple of people have told me before that DBSG doesn’t have as big of a fanbase in Japan (to my surprise), and since this is SS501’s debut in Japan, I am very curious to their development. So far, I have seen strong support for SS501. I hope for a successful debut for the boys.

Anyways, I’m a big fan of the Dong Bang boys but the shirts are a rip-off. They’re selling them for $30 and YesAsia is selling it for $22.99. Cheapest price is $17. Sheesh. SM sure knows how to drain our pockets. But I think that TVXQ’s been the biggest wallet-emptier in kpop history. Well at least, the part that I caught up to. I mean, it’s a single after another (& Japanese ones too. Which means it’s almost double the price!). Then they’ve got their concerts. Concert goodies. Concert album. Concert DVD/VCD. Then there’s the other merchandise that are just too awesome to pass up.
As for the TVXQ VS SS501… It will most likely be TVXQ winning the match. And I’m not just being biased cause I’m obsessed with the Dong Bang boys…. but they do have a stronger hold with people than SS501 does. But I’m surprised that they don’t a large fanbase like greenpearls mentioned. They were able to fill up the Budokan and even had to extend due to popular demand. But you never know… SS501 might make TVXQ run for their money. Japanese money, that is. Which would be yen.

Super Junior did a excellent job with the remake of the song if you haven’t heard it yet. Though it seems H.O.T fans aren’t to please with the fact that they did a remake of it…
DBSK’s line up is based on their singing voice isn’t it? I remember in a interview that the reason they’re all line up like that is because of their voices.
And their T-shirts could be found at DVDheaven to at a cheaper price then YesAsia.

SuJu did a lovely job remaking Haengbok, imo. Really fun and catchy remake!!
As for DBSK v. SS501, it’s pretty obvious that DBSK will do better in Japan, as they have a bigger fanbase there and are more established there. Plus, they just wrapped a month-long tour there. They’re really popular in Japan right now. I also really love SS501 and am a fan of their music, but whoever decided on the release date of their debut single should be FIRED. I’ve heard all three songs on DBSK’s single and they’re all FANTASTIC, so there’s that too. Nevertheless, I adore both groups and wish them all the best.
