It's just that all the performances they've been in up until now have been one or two song sets on various shows. Since they're not the only artists using the stage, it's just easier for the broadcasting company to play backtracks and have only the singing be live. If you watch FT Island's showcase though, that entire performance is live singing and instrumentals. Once they start giving real concerts, I'm willing to bet they'll go all-live.
