Boy-band with a questionable fashion sense, Paran is warming up to take over Asia with their Asia Tour starting in September. They are going to hit Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, China, Taiwan and many more, but the irony is that while these five country boys make headlines in other Asian countries, they are marginalized in Korean media, especially at the portal site paran.com. I must say, it was real smart naming a boy-band after a Korean portal site!
But these boys seem to be doing just fine without the buzz, especially Ryan, the leader of the group who keeps himself occupied with various acting gigs on the side. He was the supporting actor in Hello Miss and he will soon start filming drama I am Sam along with Top from Big Bang. Do you think that Paran has what it takes to become the next hallyu star?

I had never heard of this group and was really surprised when i watched their video… Their dancing was interesting, like the electric slide and John Travolta’s dance routines from Saturday Night Fever.
And the song… is it okay I say I don’t think they can make it with that kind of music? Lol. They all have really nice singing voices though.

i was never really a fan of PARAN, but i heard of Ryan (loveletter) and Ace (StarKing). theyre both pretty hot, and i guess theyre all good a singing. i saw theyre MV for chutsarang (First Love) and it was pretty cheesy..the song was ok though? well, best of luck! fighting~
I hope Paran does well in other Asian countries! I really like their 2nd album especially thier song “Your Heart Is Beating Inside Me” “Silly Love Song” and “With Paran-y” You guys should listen to their 2nd album! Congrats to them!

i have to admit that i like the way they sing. i personally think they have talent in singing…but the dancing and stuff needs to go. it looks tacky.

luvly- probably both. sure, suju & dbsk have a lot of media coverage, but i think its mostly because of their personalities. usually, if people are interested in them after they find out about them through the media, they search through the internet and find things about them, or they watch certain tv shows that include the band/band members. personally, i started loving super junior after suju full house, because i absolutely loved their personalities (especially heechul). their music is ok, but i enjoy watching how they interact with each other, rather than listening to their music. for dbsk, i like listening to their music, and i also love their personalities. i watched certain gameshows like x-man or love letter, and they were in a couple of the episodes. i fell in love with them through those kind of shows, and when i got really curious about them i went through youtube and found a couple of their clips. theyre just so darn adorable.
after you learn that they have good personalities, you start to go to their concerts, or you support them through polls or the internet. i mean if you think about it, if you liked a certain band’s music, but they were jerks and they had a bad personality, i dont think that you’ll run after them.
i think that people love bands like dbsk & suju because of their personalities, but the reason why they got to know them is probably because of media coverage.
so you can say that: Cause= media coverage, Effect= curiosity, which leads into viewers getting to know their personalities, which initially leads them into being a fan. thats my theory of course, so you dont have to agree with me. i love dbsk & suju though, =D
i like their music because they add a mixture of sounds to each song. like rock,pop,ballad, and r & b which could be all in one song. i see why they are a big hit in china and other asian countries, but i don’t understand why they are not a big hit in their own country.:(

Yea i do like Paran but I think Ryan is way overrated and given too many solos lol…the three vocalists of group are very talented (including Ryan) but the other two I have no idea what they do lol, I think one’s a rapper? I feel bad for the guy who sings amazing but isn’t too good looking, it’s his voice but they’ll replace the face with someone else O.o ~ I have to say Ace is the most underrated (he’s the guy with the last solo part in the MV)…I love his voice but I rarely see him in the live performances…they mostly focus on Ryan. I hope they become more popular and get some better songs…this song was catchy but no substance.

I enjoy their music and they have a lot of potential. Although…Ryan needs to stop hogging the stage. The other members can actually sing, unlike other groups. And I’m glad that they are moving away from that horrid style they pulled for their last single.
when I first saw these guys performing a few months ago, I had no idea they were a group. I thought Ryan’s name was Paran, who just happen to have a bunch of talented back dancers behind him :-p …..

Their song That Girl and I is actually a deviation from what they normally do. It was meant to be show their goofy side.
Before I used to ignore the group but after I heard their song “My Heart Is Beating Inside Me”, I became an instant admirer of the group. Seriously, you need to listen to that song and see their performances of it (you must watch their performances of “My Heart is Beating….” rather that their MV for that song). They sing so well and I enjoy all their performances because it is live. I especially like Ace’s voice. His voice is a thousand miles better than some more popular singers out there.

I feel bad for them that they are underrated in Korea. I hope they will make it big in other places. I heard they sang one of their songs in Thai and it surprised a lot of people because of their good pronunciation. I can’t judge whether the pronunciation was good or bad since I am not a Thai but that is what I gather. They are pretty hard-working.
Promotion plays a huge part in the promotion of any group. Also, Paran do not show alot of aegyo and they do not regularly appear on variety/game shows which is undoubtedly a great way to be endeare to fans since fans want aegyo overload and all the cutesy things boybands do and I am included in that group. Im glad I got to discover “My Heart Is Beating Inside of Me” because I now love their voices.
After watching their perf on that song. You might want to try watching their live performance of Mandy and World Of Our Own originally by Westlife. These clips can be found on youtube just type paran mandy world. Their English is understandable and Ace’s English pronunciation is commendable. There is also a clip where they sang a famous Chinese song I forogt what it is and what language it was exactly. Just give it a try, you might like them.

I actually love Paran, they’re really good in my opinion. Oddly my favourite song of theirs is their “First Love” song sung in thai ["Hai Rak Pa Pai"]. While I don’t speak thai [or korean for that matter], I just think it’s a good song and they sound really great singing thai. And the video is alot of fun I think. It makes me sad to hear they’re not very popular in Korea, but I do hope they’ll be able to experience great fame in the other countries, and maybe one day their home country as well.

I like Paran but i guess they still have long way to go to become the hallyu stars!I’ve once asked my friends about Paran and guess what my girlfriends said,”They are not handsome!”.I have no offence on telling you guys about this but just wanna share abt it!I think their music are cool but my friends sad they are not because they are as handsome as TVXQ,SUJU,SS501 or Battle!I guess it is true though!The other boyband are the hallyu dtars not only because they can sing&dance well but they are gorgeous,pretty&handsome which are fulfilled the package to fit in the wave trend!

Anyways, their song is catchy, but no cigar. They don’t have a peak nor falling. It stays just about the same (though it does seem effective for them at least). Their voices are nice and I just love their dance (it’s not really “omg!” material, but it’s cute; I’m willing to bet that they’re the only boy band that does that)
