Another girl-band is debuting this summer and luckily, they seem more promising than SM’s Times or Era of Girls. Black Pearl is produced by Mnet Media, producer of SG Wanna Be & Seeya and supposedly these girls are superb R&B singers. Well, I guess we’ll have to see them perform to make any kind of conclusions, but it’ll be awesome if they can become 2nd generation Big Mama or at least follow in their footsteps. Oh, how I miss those unnies! Too bad that I’m not in Korea to attend their concerts. Anyhow, it’ll be interesting to see how the battle of girl-bands, big groups and R&B unfold this summer.

This year is sooo damn dry for kpop. Its like I can count all of the artists on my fingers. I mean Korea is small but still there is no diversity even in their music…lol.
well I hear Big Mama is making a comeback so yay.

i actually really like their name, their size (of the group) and clothing style…it’s more…r&b and calm.

black pearl… i actually kinda like that name. i’m a fan of girl groups and was really excited when all these girl groups debuted this year… though i’ve been disappointed by some of the groups i’m still looking forward to the debut of these other groups. i wish them well.

Is it just me or is it only in s.korea that boybands / girl bands are still selling like hot pancakes until now??? heehee. coz the only girl group that’s doing so good in US are the PCD.. heehee.

Hmmm, well so far KARA and Wonder Girls have caught my attention, but if they claim to be “superb R&B singers” then I definitely gotta check them out because those other two are not quite the R&B Big Mama was/is.

i think in terms of sings they are very good.. but i guess the Black Pearl are new to the business and want to stick with songs that most people will like, for example Seeya’s style music.. but hopefully, when Black Pearl is more stable in the music industry they will be more creative in their music..
OOh they look quite chix there…hope they dont go for the totally OTT sexy concept and actual show some real talent.
