While Rain is busy filming Speed Racer with his pal, Park Jun Hyung, Star M and the local (North American) promoters have started their blame game and it looks pretty nasty. Star M held their press conference on the morning of the 18th (Korea time) to “explain” the situation aka clear their name and Rain’s and blame everything on the local promoters. But, towards the end of the press conference, Tim Kim from Revolution Canada made a surprise entrance and basically rebutted Star M’s claim that they had to cancel because the concert halls weren’t suited for Rain’s concert. Kim stated…
“Who signs a contract without checking to see if the concert hall is suitable or not? If it wasn’t suitable, one [Star M] shouldn’t have signed the contract.” (처음 계약을 성사할 당시 공연 장소도 확인하지 않고 계약서에 서명했다는 말이냐. 처음부터 공연장이 적합하지 않았다면 계약서나 확인서에 서명을 하지 말았어야 하는 게 아닌가.)
Surprised by his entrance, Star M’s rep just rambled things like, “we regret that this happened, we are willing to take responsibility if needed..blah blah blah.” Basically, nothing was resolved with this press conference, but Star M announced that they are still planning for the remaining concerts in the states and they’ll release the dates on the 23rd.
Throughout the press conference, Star M referred Rain as an artist and stated that he was the victim of bad circumstances. Rain an artist? Rain the victim? Um, how about the fans who bought the over-priced tickets, only to find out that the concert was a no-go only two hours before the event or received bounced checks in return?
People, stop the blame game, admit that you messed up, ask for forgiveness and start over. And Rain, hiding out in Germany ain’t doing you any good, if you want to be a “world star,” step up to the plate and take some responsibility!

ed has it right. If Rain is so “innocent” in all of this, he should do a better job of crisis control. I know if I were him and none of it were my fault, I would want to get my side of the story out there. I would be out in front of the public explaining what happened since it’s my name on the line. You can blame the Star M or all of the local promoters as much as you want but in the end, Bi’s name is on the line.
So he’s in Germany filming right now. Are you telling me he has absolutely no time at all? I don’t believe that’s the case.

Wow… A lot of professional comments. “All Human” don’t make mistakes when it comes to pointing fingers at oneself(the four fingers pointing back at yourself). Such a big issue just because RAIN didn’t apologized(or just partly apologized) for the mistake created by a list of professionals with MBS degrees and highly-rated intelligent people or because the equipments which RAIN use to perform with almost around half the world was found unsafe by some safety regulations. And to think that some people say RAIN could have continued with the concert with poor stage arrangements. People could have always say, What a lousy performance.. not a value for money at all to have paid such a overprice ticket. No offence to anyone, people are angry.. yes… but using words to do personal attacks are as well as immature ways. Just let RAIN finish his movie until end of August or Sept. I am sure he will stand out to make some comments. Just be more understanding if the blame is all on “you”, you would also need time to arrange your feelings after being hurt & critisized so badly.
OK, but why should fans have to wait until then for him to make some sort of comment? If he’s got something to say, he should do it now. By then it might be too late and he might lose some fans.
I don’t blame Bi for what happened but there’s been too many issues like this regarding Korean concerts outside of Korea. The promoters and the fans have a right to be pissed. The promoters are the ones fronting the money for the concert to happen in the first place. If the concert never takes place, there’s no profit. The fans are paying high prices to see Bi perform. The concert gets canceled and now they can’t even get a refund? I’d be pissed too.
he is not hiding in Germany or anything he is shooting his film “Speed Racer” and everyone knows he is a Workaholic ! and everyone knows that he has a tight schedule and needs a lot of rest…also is it wrong to cry?? he is also a human and he cried cause he can’t perform..not even one song when the concert is canceled !! he even apologized to almost 100 staffs when the concert is canceled..he work hard but everything just don’t work out and i bet organizers and rain himself will take this as a BIG lesson and after filming he will continue his tour again as what star M said !

It´s true that he went 2 weeks before the day last concert to practice and just the last day people say that he can´t do the show, because the place doesn´t ready for him for a sport event a day before.
He apologized to the fans…
And he doesn´t have the fault of the payback tickets

Thanks for your comments, they were very interesting. Since RAIN and his Father are shareholders in Star M, there is ownership. And I do agree with you RAIN is no innocent bystander in this fiasco.
I think Rain’s filming is Germany is more of an excuse to dodge all this bad publicity. I’m sure he is filming, but his actual shooting days are limited, since he is not a major player in the film.
Funny, how Rain’s fans fail to see the forest through trees.

Face it, Rain’s not perfect and everyone’s bound to make mistakes…wth, give the guy a break. Making it sound so easy when anyone of you’d probably be just as disheartened if you were in his place.
Yes, Rain needs to “officially” apologize. It will do wonders for himself and his fans. Rain is the puppet, we need to concentrate on who’s pulling the strings though. It’s not his responsibility to take care of all the business aspects. He entrusts that to the pros, and they failed him. Since he is the product, the reason, the one, it’s only seen as him failing his fans. He needs to officially apologize to his beloved fans for himself and on behalf of the doofus organizers.
I don’t know if he has really left JYP, but I hope not, but what do I know if that’s a good decision or not? It just seems that JYP has brought him nothing but luck. I think he should stay on w/them a little longer. Especially at this crucial time of getting deeper & deeper in the American market. It’s going to be choppy waters for him. Let’s hope he can stay afloat. After all, he is Rain. I love him, always & forever.
Well really I do think Bi should give a public apology. But i think everybody should give him a break seriously. Everybody knows its hard to get into the American market and Rain is trying his best. I know he screwed up but people make mistakes. If you were true fans you would forgive and forget not flame him about what to he did wrong. Forget apologies … the solution is very simple, really. All Rain and his cronies need to do if they don’t want to be criticized is to return all of the money they took from the local promoters and ticket buyers. End of story.

Rain has had enough time while he is in Germany to be out playing in Berlin–there’s pictures to prove it.
I was at the LA fan meet where he did apologize–in Korean (a “sorry” in English would have been very appreciated) to us. He did not sob or even cry–he was dry-eyed, but a little subdued.
Still, that wasn’t enough. There no more than 75 people in that restaurant–lots less than 1% of the people who had shown up for the concert…
There is no reason in the world he could not have given a short statement/interview to a sympathetic reporter–that night! He could have said the exact same thing he said to us in the restaurant!
But since he didn’t, he now has one last chance to get it right: when he leaves Germany, he MUST make a public apology for the US fiasco and state his plans for making it up to his fans. He can use the excuse that he has been busy filming to excuse his delay in not doing this sooner, but that’s it…time is running out.
(I still can’t help thinking the US tour mess was JYP “taking care” of Rain for not signing another contract…I have no evidence, just a gut feeling. Even though I got screwed out of a concert, I’m still glad Rain left JYPE!)
