I see no problem with it since Beastie Boys are an icon, besides copying somebody else is a sure sign of flattery. It’s just a poster!

even though it’s still a poster, it’s still plagarism. it’s taken (inspired, whatever) from other people’s work/idea and it must be credited, especially if the similarities are so obvious, like in this case.

why is this a controversy because that type of design has been used over and over since the 60’s or 70’s. hints that is why the beastie boys used it to get a 60’s or 70’s vibe,which is probably why the producers of the suju movie also used it.so if we are going point the finger of plagarism at the producers of the movie or suju, than point the finger at the beastie boys too because their poster or album cover is not original either.
also i do believe kung-fu hustle also used that type of design. maybe the beastie boys copied it from that. who knows, but neither one of them are original.

Gee Xiao, what i’m trying to say is that, it’s a completely different place and culture, and even if they did make their’s similar to the baestie boys poster, it doesn’t make it plagerism. Besides Timoshi Huang and cjlatina both make good points. Everyone copies, especially America, and no one gets crap about it, so why should they? And it’s a very classic design, so if the producers want to give you the 60’s 70’s vibe, this is the right way to do it.
