Zo In Sung a sociophobic?

0726-zo-in-sung.jpg
It’s no secret that Zo In Sung dislikes public places. This heartthrob avoids the media radar as much as he can, but he couldn’t prevent dozens of reporters and citizens equipped with camera phones at the Manchester United last Friday (July 20th). While other stars naturally smiled and posed for their shots, Zo In Sung hid his gorgeous face under his hoodie and ran to the bathroom if there was a surprise flash attack during the game. Poor thing – he probably couldn’t enjoy the game since he was too busy on the look out for the cameras. But why is he so afraid of the camera? After all, he works in front of the camera. Some celebs and reporters believe that it’s because he’s a sociophobic. What do you think?

It’s quite an unusual career choice for one to have if he is truly does suffer from a social phobia.

Might I also add here the potential dangers of labeling someone as having a mental disorder without diagnostic evidence…I think it’s important not to jump to conclusions and categorize others.

I agree with shinjinny. It could just be that he enjoys his job but likes to do other things without always being filmed or watched.

    No privacy these days…

He was really good in dirty carnival. He won an award for that too.

I can understand where he’s coming from. Acting is an enjoyable artistic craft and the stuff that comes with fame it’s not so enjoyable. Personally, I wouldn’t mind being an actress, but the thought of people invading my private space and time that is scary and unnecessary. why couldn’t the just let enjoy his football game? I don’t think a mental disorder, I just think he is one of those people who don’t enjoy the limelight. He’s not lindsey Lohan or Paris Hilton.

@jess – dirty carnival is your best bet. he got by on his ex-model looks (& charm) until that role, and showed there’s an actor hidden inside:PP
the director yu ha should get a place on jo in-sung’s family altar LOL

  9. 9 kiwee July 27, 2007 at 8:14 am

  10. 10 dust bunny July 27, 2007 at 9:05 am

acting is just a job, doesn’t mean you should be hounded wherever you go by stalkerazzi trying to make a buck of others celebrity

  11. 11 timeout July 27, 2007 at 9:31 am

maybe it’s the fact that he didn’t want to be photographed with the ppl he was with??? i don’t really think he has socialphobia, a lot actors want to act and like the money from the acting but they want their own personal lives and don’t think that their public jobs, that they may tons of money for, should interrupt that. but i’m biased because i think that when u take an acting job in movies and dramas for that kind of money it’s not just about the craft, and u know that what it will entail. if it was just abt the craft ppl would take meaningful theater jobs and not easy money drama and movie jobs. these ppl are making millions of dollars, korean actors are among the highest paid in all of asia. i can’t say that i feel sorry for him. i would just go out and have a good time at the game but know i’ll probabily get filmed and act appropriately in public.

That’s no fun for him. Being normal and dealing with the Paparazzi is hard enough, I can’t imagine sociophobic + paparazzi.

  13. 13 OMG! July 27, 2007 at 10:52 am

i for one, do not see the appeal in this guy… *shrugs*

  14. 14 dwilliams July 27, 2007 at 11:41 am

    OMG
Lol couldnt agree more and if he is afraid of the public then a Soccer game with Manchester United probably would not have been a good place to go if you dont want to be seen. However I can understand as it is not a pleasant situation to be photographed all of the time. Dang can I not just watch a game in peace? Also that distracts from other regular people just there to enjoy the game and the rest of the celebrities arent really helping if they are just there for a photo-op. Does everything have to be a publicity stunt.

I’ve heard from my coworker about how shy this guy is. Poor thing, he probably can’t concentrate on watching the game.

  17. 17 Nhi July 27, 2007 at 3:08 pm

It doesn’t matter. I’ll still do him.

  18. 18 amareally July 27, 2007 at 4:48 pm

I love In Sung !! (on and off screen) agree with most of you, a soccer match is not a place for sociophobics so I don’t think he is one. and he doesn’t wear make up is also not a good reason (his skin is extremely flawless! hew needs no make up) I’ll go with the 3rd option, he hates the photogs taking his pictures…

  19. 19 mawee July 27, 2007 at 7:44 pm

yeah who would want reporters up at your nose taking pics of U while youre just watching ur fave. game… or he can be really extremely shy, i still drool for him tho haha

I don’t believe he is socialphobic. He just values his privacy and strives to be himself living in the same neighbourhood he grew up in with the same circle of friends so that he could be level headed and well grounded even though he is now famous. Unfortunately fame doesnt work that way. We have 2 remember he will just be 26 years old tomorrow and to his credit, his acting in A Dirty Carnival far surpassed a lot of actors his age or older. In the fluff Kdrama, What happened in Bali, the character he played wasnt exactly likeable but his protrayal made many empathized with Jang Jae Min. Even though I am a fan but I am not blinded, I too have my grievances abt him, i.e. his dressing lately and it has been more than a year since he acted in his last film or drama. I wrote about these grievances in my blog in conjuction with his birthday tomorrow. Unfortunately, he doesnt understand English, I hope someone will tell he so because, I believe a lot of his fans are thinking about the same. Nevertheless, I wish to wish him: 인성씨,생일 축하 합니다!
