Some accused Jieun, an awesome singer from YG of lip-synching on Yoon Dohyun’s Love Letter, a music show with only live performances. Father YG came to the rescue and explained to them that Jieun was in fact singing live. But, these people who accused Jieun of lip-synching must be deaf because her performance wasn’t up to par – she started out flat and shaky and recovered in the middle of the song.
If they can’t tell the difference between lip-synching and live – enough to believe that her okay live performance was as good as her recording, then they should just stop listening to music or stop making stupid conclusions and writing them online to create this pointless controversy. No wonder k-pop is filled with bubblegum pop music – some people can’t even tell the difference between live and lip-synching.

She is an awesome singer and actually people also thought that she was lip synching at the music bank that I went to but she definitely wasn’t. She performed the song several times during rehearsal flawlessly and she was even better than she was during the actual taping with hundreds of screaming fans. such a powerful voice coming from a such a small body gave me chills!

I love this girl so much. She’s got such a good voice and that people think she’s lip synching when she’s not, is that considered a good thing when they can’t tell? WHAT? I love me some Ji Eun so I really can’t take anyone talking crap about her. She was super nervous during that performance. Wasn’t even one of her best. How in the world cfould that be lip-synching? They need to take that drama to someone who actually lip-synchs. Not a real artist.

Sorry, but I think to the untrained eye that when she pulls the mic away from her mouth it would appear that she might be lip syncing. Also, I think if you aren’t familiar with her voice that you might think that it sounds “too good”.

Only way to tell if she wasn’t lip synching would be to incorporate a heavy dancing routine into the routine that only starts when the crowd starts chanting “DANCE DANCE DANCE”.

I also hate when they label videos wrong on clips – it says they’re singing live but they’re not…it’s so annoying that people can’t tell.
She was so singing live. When she pulls the mic away from her mouth like that, it’s so her voice won’t damage the sensitivity of the mic converter.
And I agree with a few people above: can’t they find an SM artist to accuse of lip-synching?? YG is so pro, and he has such high standards. He wouldn’t even consider one of his artists lip-synching on a show like this.

Ever since a punk band called Couch dropped trou on live TV, all performance shows are taped. NONE are broadcast live. When you see the little “LIVE” graphic in the corner, it means that the *performance* was recorded live, but it is not being broadcast live.
The Youtube clip proves nothing. It looks like a lip-synch, but these clips are often out of synch with the voice, even on live recordings.
For what it’s worth, it’s also possible that she recorded the song beforehand and lip-synched to it during the performance so it would sound live. (I know that doesn’t make much sense, but it IS possible, for example if she was too nervous about making a mistake in a live performance, it might be a way for her to make sure she didn’t screw up the song while performing “live”.)
That wasn’t a lip-synch. She sounds HORRIBLE. I love Jieun, but this isn’t her best performance.
Couldn’t they find another performance to accuse? In this one, she sounds all breathy and flat. If it is like Kkachi says, that she recorded it beforehand and lipsynched to it for the show, why wouldn’t she sing it better beforehand? Please. I can’t believe people are even getting worked up about this.

i like her..she has such powerful voice..when i heard her sang WHITNEY HOUSTON-I’LL ALWAYS LUV U..damn when she hit the high notes..-u can hear a lido of her accent, but she gave me chills through out my body-i can feel it all the way down my spine (it was hella hot that day too)

I hadn’t even heard of this person until now and her singing a little more than surprised me. I didn’t really think asian people are good live, but this woman really tore it up.
The only thing that makes me even think about being suspicious is when she moves the mic away from her mouth, her voice volume should be lower, but it sounds loud and clear. And when she shakes the mic, her voice volume should fluctuate. But, I don’t know, maybe that’s just a damn good mic.
But whether she did it live or not, she’s an awesome singer. Shouldn’t that matter more–that she makes good music? And when she is at her best or when she “is” live–and I’m only guessing–she rocks.

Haha, I was gonna give her props for being so good that people thought she wasn’t singing live… But I’ve seen better live performances from other Korean artists, even from her. So I can’t really comment that on this particular performance.

Okay, I admit it I was wrong. At the very end the mic picks up a small fart from Ji-eun.. there is of course no way they would have included that flatulence in a recording. So kudos to Ji-eun and her smelly ending.

Ji-Eun did an awesome job singing live. From all the eps that of seen of Yoon Dohyun’s Love Letter show, the music is live. You get to hear their true voice without the studio recordings with a raw feed band right there. This is one of the reasons why I love this show and get to know the artists in an intimate way – kinda like Artists UN-PLUGGED corner. PLUS, If a singer were to lipsync, why lipsync on this show, where the audience is sitting right next to the stage?
