Yes, the pictures are not bad…but, how many pictures of yourself can you take before you seem like a narcissist…and really vain.
Having lived in Seoul…I can say without a doubt so many young Korean women like the ones in the photos are EXTREMELY VAIN. Look at the photos on a cell phone of a typical young Korean woman in Seoul and 95 percent of the photos will include her in them. If all you are going to do is take photos of yourself why even take pictures in another country…you can do that at home.

Only once in my lifetime have I seen vacation photos where the same person was in every photo…and it looked stupid. WHat can you do? You have some photos with yourself in them…some photos with scenery alone…some photos with the local people…and some photos with a mix of all three.
You are a guy Beserious so of course you want women to flaunt. As I said having lived in Korea…yes there are many pretty women, but some are so vain that no matter how physically beautiful they are their persona is ugly in that they are only interested in their look. Flaunting too much is an ugly trait.
If you know your beautiful, you have the right to take a bajillion pictures of yourself.

Its not about whether it is a “right” to take a million pictures of yourself. Of course they can do that. The fact is it is an ugly trait in a human being to only focus on yourself and your looks. I can guarantee you Kara, I assume you are a woman, that if you dated a guy that was always focused on his looks…you would get bored after awhile.
I like attractive women as much as the next guy…but I
would rather have a less attractive woman with a brain that she uses than a stunning woman who is always concerned with her looks.

Sel-ca is a play on words of “self” and “camera.” All these pictures were taken by somebody else.

it’s hard to fault the self-absorption of stars in these sel-ca pix. after all, they make a living out of convincing people to fixate on their every pore and contortion.
There’s nothing wrong with making yourself the focus point in your holiday photos. They’re just to remind yourself what a great time you had while you were on holiday in this or that place. But when someone places his/her own picture on her office desk – now that’s something definitely wrong there. Isn’t that like self-worshipping?

I adore Jung Ryeo Won, she’s a wonderful actress and she’s so damn pretty. And I love the collection of selcas of the 3rd actress (the one that was in Gaemool, or ‘Monster’).
Isnt it possible that these “vain” or “fun” pics are just part of the hundreds of photos she couldve taken? Maybe theres just an equal amount of scenery pics, but she didnt bother sharing them cuz theyre not of her. If I wanted pics of somebody and went on their website, I would want pics of her and not scenery ones. Id expect her to save those for her own personal album.
I think MOST people go to celeb’s websites to see pictures of their favorite celebs. What good will it do to post pictures of someone else or some place? Nothing. No interest.
So I think celebs are doing their fans a favor and posting pictures of only themselves.

…… But I have one thing to say: unless you have a photographer with you, s/he’ll make you look UNnarcissistic. In other words, you won’t look like you WANT ATTENTION, but you WANT to be naturally the center of attention. Also, from different angles, including the background, regardless of how many pics you take, the pics WILL come out NICE, NATURAL, like-a-photographer-who-suddenly-pops-outta-nowhere-and-took-pics-of-you -unexpectedly, and finally, DON’T EVER stand in the middle!! Why? Because that signals to people HEY LOOK AT ME!!LOOK AT ME!!. What you should do is stand out in a slight angle that’s NOT IN THE CENTER, but somewhere off the corner so that people can enjoy the scene and YOU!!!

funny … when I go on vacation, I take a lot of pictures of my surroundings. even when I do get into a shot, the major focus is on the scenery and not on myself. I just find it hilarious to go through an album and see shot after shot after shot of someone just STANDING there against a backdrop. at least be more creative!
something else that strikes me funny is when people insist on standing under a tree and all you can see in the picture is them with a tree trunk (and nothing else of the tree) behind them. ha!!!
I went on vacation with a few friends of mine and most of us had cameras (so of course we took scenary pics for people who weren’t able to). When we came back home and uploaded them all to a computer, one of our friends only took pictures of herself. ALL 100 of them. ALL of herself. THAT is vain.
These look to me that they were particularly taken by someone to promote them being on vacation. Probably publicists. Its that simple.

The picture of Jung Ryu Won where she’s hiding her mouth, her eyes look extremely similar to that of Park Myung Soo’s. Creepy. Nonetheless, the pictures are beautiful. Nothing is wrong with taking vacation pictures with yourself in them!!
