hey stupid – cosmo magazine gives out those awards to american female celebs (and non-celebs) too. it’s an AMERICAN magazine, and it’s an AMERICAN magazine that created that kind of an award. hyori is undeniably successful – especially in a country and culture that thinks a woman over 24 is old. she’s really breaking the age barrier and i hope she’s still successful into her 30’s.
btw, you think korea is shallow – haha! the u.s. is a complete celeb worshiping and youth obsessed culture (see paris, lindsay lohan, etc.).

1.) Perhaps you were criticizing the award but you were also criticizing the country unless the phrase “what a shallow country” was referring to something else.
2.) Though you aren’t American (which is a relief for me and all Americans for sure), while you scorn skyepink for having a ” complex inferiority” (or did you mean inferiority complex), I think you were simply missing the point of skyepink mentioning the US; s/he was only using America as an example of a country that also celebrity worships. And wouldn’t America be a logical example to come to mind, she being the most economically powerful and culturally influential country in the world? Every country is guilty of worshipping their celebrities, neither the US nor Korea are alone in that. Furthermore, skyepink not only may not be Korean; and if she is she does NOT represent all Koreans, so it is fruitless for you to preach to her “if you hate them so much then don’t act like them…. betcha you can’t.” Or maybe you assume Korea is hanging on every word you say, in which case 1.) don’t assume all if not even most Koreans “hate America” and 2.) all countries, modernized, third-world, Asian to Indian, seek to emulate America, currently the most powerful nation. Is it so wrong to do this? And does this give you the right to stereotype an entire country on the basis of one award, one celebrity, and a commentor?

Are you kidding? White guys love azn chicks! Do you live in America? Maybe you (as an asian?) have low self esteem? I always go “If Id been born asian I would have a bigger modeling career” this is true it is exotic. Look at those import ladies Stephanie Ly, Kim Do, Just about everyone in that area asian.
