Bae Yong Joon’s age and ajumma mentality must be catching up on him because he abruptly took a week off from The Legend “to rest.” Since the Legend himself is not around, the production staff and other cast members are sitting on their thumbs while patiently waiting for his return. No wonder this drama was delayed a dozen times! I wouldn’t be surprised if they miss the premiere date next week or become the biggest flop in drama history.

Hmmm, I can’t claim to be in “the know” in any way but just because I have been reading up on the movie I have to agree with the posters above who are saying this story is bosh. I had read a week ago that he had a SCHEDULED week off (not an abrupt leave of absence “to rest”) around the time of his birthday which was apparently last week. So I’m not so sure either that this story is true that he rudely is making everyone wait. Be serious–what director, producer and film/TV company would tolerate that…no matter how big the star is? It just doesn’t happen. Sure, stars have power but they do NOT have power over production schedule and the almighty dollar (or in this case, the almighty won). Time costs HUGE amounts of money so I really doubt Bae or anyone else could get away with this.

I can’t read Korean so I’m in the dark about what the link says. But I’m pretty sure that the Korean media has its flaws just like the media in the States and just about everywhere else on the planet. They don’t always investigate the facts and print the truth. The other poster above who commented that Bae has been working on commercials while the weather has been inclement in the shooting location is pretty much what I had read as well–like, three days ago. It doesn’t sound like he’s taking a break. It sounds like he’s working on other things while the entire movie production is halted.
I believe this story is nothing but a storm in a teacup. Although you yourself did not fabricate the story, it does seem a bit unfair to continue to leave it posted without an update now that you are made aware of certain circumstances that are, in fact, public knowledge.
Having said all that, I think I probably have too much time on my hands to even be caring about this. But I just don’t like blatant unfairness…

The idea of this is speculation. If you do not have the schedule in your hand or in a picture, your idea is only speculation based on what you saw, you know, etc. SPECULATION is not FACT though sometimes people speculate a fact, we can never know until we see the schedule or someone speaks publicly about it, even then they could be lying. Speculation is observation. From our observation it looks like he took a week off with no notice, from other speculation it looks like the director had notice. None of us know the director. Its speculation.

Can I be any more explicit? I will repeat: it was ALREADY REPORTED IN OFFICIAL MOVIE-PRODUCTION SOURCES that the weather in Naju was inclement, causing a halt in the production of the movie. During this time Bae was working on other projects. Not resting. WORKING. You know, I don’t need to defend this guy. You are right–I don’t have his schedule in my hand. I am also not on his staff, not his friend, not his lover, not his family member, not his professional colleague. I think it’s about credibility. Bae Yong Joon is known to be a gentleman and a serious actor/worker. He has no known scandal to date and he has been a role model to many actors for more than 10 years. He has already proved what he’s got.
I suggest popseoul just concentrate on attacking his looks and whatever there is to attack on his outer appearance but not on his inner side including his character because you have to give us the facts with supporting evidence for us to believe what you’ll be writing.
I remember in Japan the media and the entertainment ppl were frantic about the sudden Yonsama fever and of course they’ll try to write articles both favorable and unfavorable one bec anything will sell like hot cake if it’s on BYJ. They hired papparazis in Korea. They had to do surveillance for three months rain or shine. The hired papparazis finally gave up bec they couldn’t find anything unusual or sensational from what he was doing. How did I know? That particular magazine did write about this..they said he has a boring life..gym, office and home, occasional golfing and entertainment activities..
What I’m trying to say? He has almost no flaws. Yes, he is too good to be true. But he is a good man, a good business and in my opinion a good actor. He has done so much to his country and it’s about time you Koreans realized that you have to recognize what he’s done and examine yourselves a little more why he’s been so successful overseas. Because no one is like him..period. I rest my case.

maybe this is opinion, BYJ resting around thats why the legend got delayed too many times,, but then saeguk dramas are really tiring~ lines and script alone need time & much effort for the leads. Lee Young Ae had been through hard times when shooting Dae Jang Geum, Song Il Guk had been thru tough times too during Jumong~ and I guess Bae Yong Joon is having hard times too. It isnt easy to act,, they need some break from time to time.

Top star BYJ is indulging in sweet rest for 2 weeks.
BYJ, getting out from filming site of MBC fusion history drama ‘TWSSG’(Script by Song Jina & Park Kyeongsoo, Directed by Kim Jonghak & Yoon Sangho), is having personal time in a long time. As there is no filming portion for him right in time, he was able to take a vacation.
A source at the drama told, “As there is no filming for BYJ from this week until September 6 so that he is taking a rest.”
This vacation was provided as a small consideration for BYJ who has been striving only for filming in Jeju Island and Najoo filming sites all the while. For the production crew, that is a time to agonozing over how to work out the ending of the ‘TWSSG’ with only 4 episodes’ worth of filminf is left in the future.
On the other hand, the ‘TWSSG’ unveiled its preview video for the first time after airing of Wednesday-Thursday miniseries ‘Time of Dog and Wolfe’ on 29″> (According to other BYJ site, the preview was not aired on 29). Beginning with this preview video, the ‘TWSSG will be aired from 11 following special edition on September 10.
