Did you notice the random violin solo during SuJu’s debut performance on Music Bank? That random violinist was Henry, a new Chinese talent to sprout from the well-known celebrity-churner SM. Like Zhang Li Yin, Henry was discovered at SM’s world auditions (2006) and his talents are supposedly multi-faceted. To give him a leg-up, SM gave him the violin solo in SuJu’s “Don’t Don,” which got many fans and the media talking.
It will be nice to see more foreigners trying to learn Korean and break into the Korean market. However, Chinese imports such as ZLY and Han Kyung, haven’t achieved much. Based on their ‘years and years’ of training, the results were disappointing so far. Do you think Henry has what it takes to make it in Korea?

Hey it’s Mr. Henry Lau! haha! I used to call him that everyday at school. haha! I’ve known this kid for 4 years, he is a real joker. LOL! He is very talented and I think he’s better off solo and I think he will be very successful in Korea and hopefully soon, all of Asia, and in the future, world wide. He has potential, and is very hard working, he’ll definitely make it in Korea.

I think he’ll get far, I’ve seen him perform in toronto at asian get togethers and I also saw him at the audtition in toronto. He’s got real talent….his violin skills are amazing. Espeacially when he’s only in grade 10 ARCT level.

They aren’t trying to mock H.O.T., they were actually trained by Kanta of H.O.T. and they’re frmo the same company, so they’re like…being trained from the same people H.O.T. came from. Adding Henry is too much though =/

dude. what the heck was THAT?! that performance was so chaotic. so many members! and this is definitely a mock performance of h.o.t./shinhwa during their debut days. the whole “punk” look is not in anymore. goodness gracious. i don’t think they can pull off this image. not good at all. if anything, the violin performance was the only thing decent in the performance despite it only played like 20 seconds or so. however, i thought it was oddly placed. a violin performance in a chaotis performance with a bunch of “punks” in matrix clothing.

First of all Henry is not cute, second of all, he doesn’t speak any Korean, nor does he even speak his own language (Mandarin/Cantonese) which is ironic considering the fact that his dad is from Hong Kong and his mom is from Taiwan. HENRY IS NOT GOING TO MAKE IT, at least not into Suju China. If he wants to debut as a Korean Artist fine, put in the sweat and blood like everyone else minimum 2 years.
SM gets foriegn trainees for one purpose, to open up their markets. What good will Henry do, he can’t Chinese, he can’t reach out to the Chinese fans.

For instance, SG Wannabe are not the best looking band around, but their vocals are amazing because they can sing.
By the way, I think he came to Canada when he was young or something. In other words, it is not ironic that he doesn’t know his own language. He can probably understand a bit, and if he had the basic knowledge, it will be easy for him to pick up on the language. There were discussions on other sites that were stating that he is starting to take Cantonese lessons. He hasn’t even debuted yet because he still needs to prepare and it is obvious that he doesn’t look like someone who has been in the business for two years. Everyone starts out healthy at first, but as we all know, SM Entertainment make them lose weight at the beginning of their journey or throughout the years.
How is he considered a white-washed wannabe? The way people live in Canada are obviously different to those in Asian. Not being “Asian” enough does not classify someone as a wannabe. For heaven’s sake, my siblings and I were born in Ontario. I love the Korean entertainment, while my siblings doesn’t like it at all. Most of our friends are not Asian, so does that classify us as “wannabes”? We are just comfortable with who we are and it makes us happy, so we don’t need to live with racial stereotypes about how people should act or behave (according to their culture and nationality).
He hasn’t debuted yet, so it is obvious that he can’t talk on screen. Every trainee is kept away from the public as much as possible in order to keep the public anticipating about their debut. It is common sense to think that the only reason why he didn’t get to talk on Star King is due to the fact that he needs to keep his identity unknown and that SM Entertainment did not give him the right to speak up (yet).
what do you mean ZLY and hangeng havent achieved much? i’m 100% sure that having a succesful hit is achieving quite alot. and hangeng has is quite popular in korea, i’m sure. i think their greatest achievement would be the ability to stay in korea and performing even though there are so many people who dislike and bash them.

I might dislike Super Junior with a passion, but even I know that they were trained by Kangta, who, in fact, was a H.O.T. member, so of course their will be some resemblance some of the time. And it wasn’t a ‘mock’ performance. You can clearly see the differences, you dope. God. And, er, they did pull that look off. Very well, actually.
And anyways. (: It’s good to see Super Junior sing live once in a while. Though they shouldn’t have done it for this particular song. But seeing as it WAS their comeback performance, or something, I guess they wanted people to see that they remember how to…. suck? Or something.
Please, Super Junior. Please go back to just mouthing the words and leave the singing to the K.R.Y. members. =3
