interesting… i’m a big fan of sm artists. really i am. suju, dongbang, the grace. i like them all, but the fact that they always seem to be winning the awards make the votes, or the esteem that comes with winning that award, seem almost invalid. they deserve the awards, yes. and they work hard, yes. but when sm artists keep winning everything, it just begins to seem rigged. i like so nyuh shi dae, really i do, but i mean, they’ve only just debuted like a month ago. do they really deserve this award? even as a fan, i can’t honestly say that each girl singing like one line in one song should garner an award such as this.
suju, boa and dongbang, do deserve their awards though. i bet it was a tough fight for suju, but they hung on. i’m proud of the boys. there should be no dispute about whether boa and dongbang deserved the awards though. it’s obvious that they are incredibly popular overseas. being the first artist to top the oricon chart in japan HAS to mean something. dongbang fighting!

I think that csjh has the ‘it’ factor to be successful. i think that csjh really deserved the award.They all have powerful vocals + dance, better than alot of female groups out there. snsd is the only ‘new’ female group that just debuted so that award seems kind of stupid. i dont think that suju deserved the best male group dance cuz their dance just look cool because the amount of members on stage.DBSK should have won that award. oh well…
did popseoul just state earlier into their posts that this was the year for girl group debuts, so no SNSD is not the only artists to debut this year, there are tons. And frankly I dont understand how such a new group could win an award, hold fan meetings, and have plans to debut elsewhere when they had just debuted a month ago? how the hell does that work? SM must have some diabolical plan that these girls are on such high gear. Kangta needs a new hairstyle and CJSH the Grace are still fairly so and so to the industry, it may take a while.

DBSK/TVXQ couldn’t participate because they were abroad in Taipei giving a concert performance during a super (category 4) typhoon… we’re talking pouring rain and high winds. They only cancelled the 2nd night because the government shut down businesses and schools. Combined with their popularity in Japan and other countries, there is no doubt that they deserve the award.

they are not SM failures pleaSe. Dana was good as a solo previously, Lina was in IsakNJiyeon and we all knoe the reason why it failed, and Sunday was based in Japan and she got quite okay results.

I want to ask; who does popseoul think should receive the awards? Popseoul and a lot of its viewers technically hated on and bashed out every artist to come out besides like 2, so to popseoul and all the other Antis and bias readers(in lol’s word), should there have been only 2 artists attending this award ceremony? and should it have been those 2 that should have taken home 3 awards each?
Seriously, SM has the, arguably, largest fan base in the korean music industry, they have no need to rig. With all the SUJU fans it would only be natural for them to vote for artists under SM, wither or not they pay attention to them.

What exactly are “awards” for? Recognition. Am i wrong? Everyone has their own likes and dislikes everyone has their own taste. If they dislike the artist it doesn’t matter how many awards they win right? If they like the artist it doesn’t matter how many awards they don’t win right?
So in the long run, “Awards” are for recognition, or in a more real and plain term “Business”.
And when you see SM artists winning the awards due to cross artist fans, it means nothing except SM has beat out the other labels and succeeded.

CSJH may not be that popular but you cannot deny the fact they are talented singers. Show me another *popular* girl group out there that can show the same vocal range that lina and stephanie show when they sing both on the album and acapella.

Even though there are a lot of people who doesn’t like CSJH, it doesn’t mean they aren’t talented or popular. Their first album was pretty successful, their song was a hit and I’m sure that’s the reason they won the award. Whether SM paid or not for it you may wonder, but if the group deserves it is another matter. And I think CSJH deserves it a lot, these girls are hard workers and their first album was really good.
I’m surprised that SNSD won the award, but again, either them or Wonder Girls would do. No other new girlgroup did better this year, even though tons of them debuted. I guess SNSD won because they are successful in spite of all the predictions they would fail (including Popseoul’s). Wonder Girls are good and they also deserved it, but somehow WG has never been as underated as other girlgroups.
Super Junior will definetely win lots of awards this year. I don’t think they deserve it at all, but they’re popular, they’re good-looking, they’re from SM, and that’s all they need to fill themselves up with lots of awards.

Theres no reason to think so much into Sm talents bagging to most awards- the man knows how to run business, and create groups that spark interest. CSGH deserved it, they’re talented, beautiful, and have adorable personalties. Though I don’t know whats happening to Stephanie’s face nowadays, maybe its just the makeup..they’ve been inactive recently.

I actually like SNSD. Everyone thinks that they’re just these perfect plastic little girls, but if you look at them closer, they’re quite ordinary. Some of them are farr from pretty too. omg. popseoul, i totally agree with you about tszx the grace or csjh the grace or whatever the hell their name is. when i first saw their “live” performance on tv, i nearly puked. not only did they NOT know how to sing, they seriously could NOT dance. all they had going for them was their bodies. and that shouldnt even count these days since so many pop stars have great bodies and talent (i.e. ivy). i cant stand that group and they’re not even pretty to look at.
I think the awards were given out quite appropriately. Seeing as Cheon Sang Ji Hee was teh only girl group to have more than two popular singles….I can’t think of any other female group to have done the same this year. The same goes for Ivy - her songs were amazing popular this year as well so she deserved that award. Hyori and SuhInYoung only had about one really popular song.
The only group I can say that doesn’t deserve this award is SeoNyuhSiDae…NO offense -they have one song that isn’t really all that popular…I would’ve expected KARA or Wonder Girls to get this award.

Sure, they don’t put in as much efforts as DBSK in live perfs, but Suju is really popular right now and I think they can dance. Furthermore, DBSK hasn’t been in Korea for some time so it wouldn’t make sense if they got the award.

CSJH The Grace is EASILY one of the best girl groups out there. All of them can sing and dance. And they’re all very pretty, especially Lina. I do think they have the “it” factor, but they need better promotion, sure.

Chun Sang Ji Hee is fine. Compared to the rest of the Korean entertainment industry they possess a pretty good deal of talent, I don’t see the problem. Trying to make it out like See Ya is supremely talented compared to them is hilarious. They can compete but one is not clear cut better than another.
And failing in an industry means nothing. Most of it is luck and how you are marketed than anything else. It’s fallacious logic in the first place.

regardless, whether they are bad or whatever. an award given to any of the group means recognition, so maybe the artists you like didn’t not win or not to say, being nominated.
