The five Shin-Kis flew to Thailand over the weekend to promote their “2nd Asia Tour Concert ‘O’ in Bangkok” scheduled for December 15th & 16th. As expected they were welcomed by thousands of local Cassiopeias and the local media, confirming that DBSK boys are on their way of Asian domination – or are they already there? But why do DBSK boys look like underaged midgets in that photoshoot? Was it the outfit or the angle?

just because you dont prefer dbsk doesnt mean they are the same as every other boyband.
OBVIOUSLY people think that dbsk sounds unique and special in their own way,, which is why there are much more dbsk fans than SS501fans(who i personally think is a very plain compared to dbsk)
and the reason why theyre all over the place is because they are wanted all over the place and are making money from it. and its not like theyre all over the place in one country but all over the place because they have so many fans all over asia. NOT because theyve been doing it longer. you would think that they would get less popular as the time goes by?? like what happens to most boybands (except for maybe shinhwa)

However, I really happen to love pop music and korean pop music in general, so lucky for me I enjoy DBSK, but really they arent.. incredible vocals… As far as boybands go, 5tion have nice voices, but in the end they all perform and sing pop music, and mainly it is not written by themselves or unique. It is all the same, but that is the reason, I personally, like it. If you can’t be honest with yourself, who can you be honest with?

My 2-cents:
1) There’s someone doing all the booking and scheduling so the boys just ’show up’. I doubt they even know what’s happening the next second without their PAs. I mean, there’s a coordinator for every single thing they do that I doubt the boys are in-charge of anything. They might claim that they have creative/business powers over their image,production, etc. etc. I’m sorry but that’s NOT true.
2) The market is so competitive and unless they squeeze everything dry as quickly as possible, they would turn into have-beens by the time they turn 25.
3) To each his own ~ I mean, there’s bound to be fans and antis for everything so I guess that’s what makes it exciting.

Kidding aside, here we go again. I think what’s lacking in many fans is their ability to be objective. Yes, liking a group or artist is subjective in itself, but sometimes, you must acknowledge that the artist is either a) not perfect, and/or b) not as great as their made to be.
In my opinion, true fans will do that (be true to themselves and the artist) because it helps the artist gauge how they really are doing, and what else they must do to improve.

I’m being really realistic and true to myself. All I said was listen to their voices carefully. Do you really think other boybands like Suju could pull of live performances like DBSK does? I mean for goodness sake, if you really must talk about uniqueness, I can say for sure their voices are pretty unique (Junsu and Jaejoong perhaps). Even though I admit that Changmin has a typical voice, that doesn’t mean DBSK is not a unique vocal group. And perhaps when you say they’re all the same, you mean their genre of songs. To tell the truth, how different can compositions and arrangements of songs be? You can’t expect every song to be different and unique. Even if that happens, people like you would most prolly just shrug it off with, “it’s all the same” again, even if they try songs like “Choosey Lover” and “Ride On”
Furthermore, as a fan of theirs, not only their music talents attracted me but their personalities as well. I believe this is one important point of being a real fan, not just be indulged with their looks etc.

ALSO. they’re not just a typical band. If they were, I wouldn’t like them anymore, they would just be a “thing” to me. I mean.. even Suju doesn’t even attract me anymore as a group. and when I first liked DBSK, I didn’t even NOTICED their looks. I noticed Junsu because of his “odd” name ‘XIAH’ and because of his awesomeness voice.
Yea, there ARE many boybands out there, but I don’t think they can top DBSK’s cd sells. And I’m not counting Sgwannabe. lmfao. If they’re JUST an idol group, they wouldn’t be able to pull off the song LOVE IN THE ICE. That song just screams vocal talent.

DBSK members do have good vocals. They’re not the greatest group ever but they’re consistently good in term of vocals and consistently good looking as a group. Then there’s the cute/charming factor. So you have talent, looks and personality all bundled together and this combination is what make them a hot group and people like it hot. And when many people love them many others (who want to stand out from the crowd) will start hating them. It’s rather typical.
Anyhow, I’m all for DBSK domination. I like it hot too. *smirk*

^ i watched it and…i don’t know..i’m not really mad, it was just their opinion on what they think of dbsk..and i’m fine with that but i think they shouldn’t have said it on tv. they should have just talked more about dbsk visiting thailand, meeting thai fans..blah blah blah but instead i felt they made dbsk look bad.

None of the other boybands have done what TVXQ has done — made Oricon charts with every release.. including a #1 … and a sellout concert tour… and a broad spectrum of fans.. singing with the Gospellers.. there are plenty of examples of why they aren’t your typical boyband. Their latest Japanese ballad (Forever Love) will raise them to a new level in Japan… NOT a typical Korean boyband.. no others could do it.
