Park Ji-yoon brings new meaning to “sel-ca”

Singer turned photographer, Park Ji-yoon has been out of the limelight for the past 3 years. But the singer has been busy with her new hobby-photography. At a studio somewhere in Kangnam, she held a press conference for her new photo essay entitled, “The secret garden of Park Ji-yoon.” The photo essay includes 99 written thoughts and self-portraits regarding her view of love.

While the rest of the population may take self-portraits (aka sel-ca) for fun, Ms Park takes it to a whole new level by taking photos of her famous self and using that towards profit. With 99 pictures of herself in various poses, she brings new meaning to “sel-ca”.

I really don’t see any artistic value in these pictures. I don’t get any emotion what-so-ever. Oh well, to each their own.

I think it’s nice….I suppose to take so many photos of oneself is kind of indulgent…but there is a wistful, lonely quality to her photos that I like and what I feel gives her artistic license. Plus, I fondly remember her in her heyday when she had the weirdest music video concepts - she wasn’t afraid of doing kooky stuff then and she hasn’t changed since then I guess ^0^

weird music video concepts that she wasnt afraid of doing? Only several mo ths ago she was talking shit about park jin young claiming that he used her. Shes so desperate to claim a clean, innocent image. I had more respect for her when she was dancing on stage, half naked. All this back peddling, its just pathetic

I loved the photos. She’s really good in my opinion! I don’t think it’s about her image. It’s a self-portrait, not a performance.
