Hell no! The man is still in his prime! Korea’s very own sexy movie star, Jang Dong-gun was recently featured on a 3 part interview on CNN Talk Asia. The humble actor told CNN that he is a bit worried about entering the U.S. market with his upcoming Hollywood movie, Laundry Warrior (2008), he thinks that he is passed the marrying age but wants to settle down, and he will continue having fan meetings on his birthday every year to give back to his fans. The down-to-earth manner in which he answered the questions makes me want to marry the guy even more! But I know I probably have to take a number.
Jang Dong-gun is the first Korean actor on the cover of Time Magazine.
Read the whole interview here.

still fine as heck
he can marry me anyday XD
I’ll marry him.. =] he’s so humble..
I love Jang Dong Gun! I think he is the most handsome korean actor. He’s still so young looking!
nuh, uh…hell no…he’s STILL in his prime and for another while longer too! i’ll take him!
He had to have been kidding when he said he might be past the marrying age. O.O
what?
then he should do something about it..

Her first name is Chung. -.-;
I had watched the interview last sunday night episode of Talk Asia. He was so georgeous and in his down to earth self, only if he had spoken in English… But it was a nice interview, he actually walked with Anjali on the street and surprised the people they met. A big star is walking in the street, so they were shocked!
and I recorded the interview actually… ha ha ha
sigh…..he will always be the most gorgeous guy in the whole universe to me!
i want to marry him…..NOW!!!!!!!
i watched him on the CNN interview too, and yeah, he’s really so humble and down-to-earth. The way he answered the questions is as if he does not aware at all that he’s a big superstar. He’s truly a one in a million guy….sigh!!!
umm..Does he like younger women? like maybe around 11 years younger than him? Cause he can take me!!! We’d be a happy ass(mostly me) family!!!
no he’s still hot!
i know this guyand he’s 42 and still single
I hope he finds the right woman for him soon. I really like to see him settle down and have a fAmily of hs own. JDG is getting sexier and more appealing nowadays. And he is so humble and very down to earth during the interviews,no wonder he’s the only actor that I really admire.
Sigh….I love this man. I tutored a Korean director once. I asked him who was the best star to work with and who was the worst. Hands down, he said that Jang Dong-gun was the most sincere and kindest of them all. He kept describing him as a “gentle soul.”
His worst of all time was Kim Hee Sun, who was notorious for being terrible to work with and just terrible all around.
JDG is still hot and the best for me. Here are links of his CNN’s interviews.

He’s a gentleman of all gentlemen!
damn, I’ll marry him but how old is he anyway?
No man is too old for marriage .. this guy is gay.
Vanessaly,
he is 35. Born on march 7th 1972
by the way, i don’t think he meant that he’s too old to get married. What he meant is that he had passed the age of marrying (which is usually 27-32 for man). And he’s not a gay…he had a girlfriend before.
i wonder what number will tat be if i take one now…hahahahahah
he can come over to have tea anytime…hahahaha
Without a doubt one of the most BORING interviews I have ever read.
I don’t really follow this guy. I have only seen him in The Promise which was not a great movie but I admired that he spoke Mandarin for it. At the time I didn’t even know the actor was Korean but I did notice his Mandarin sounded different. I assumed it was just an accent from a different part of China! Anyway, he didn’t make a mark on me in that movie. But Nicholas Tse…now that’s another story…and Hiroyuki Sanada…gorgeous and talented, both of them!
i love joojinmo
why is he the poster boy? he’s not that handsome.. okay, i guess his movies(?) is better than his looks? oh well, i don’t even know who he is… so who cares what i think? anyway how can he break into hollywood if he doesn’t speak any English?
“South Korean Actor”
Thank you America for specifying, wouldnt want to get this mixed up for some other actor…
He’s not handsome to me, either. He barely even looks Korean or Asian at all. Either he’s had some “alterations” of the surgical kind or he’s got mixed blood. And I’m not even one of those people who immediately cries “plastic surgery” as soon as someone looks different. But this guy looks…unusual.
hey..watch ‘Taegukgi’, ‘Friend’ or ‘The Coast Guard’..Jang Dong Gun is as good as an actor as he looks..and he is as gorgeous as hell in person and not arrogant..He is pure LOVE..
i love him =)
wait, so he didn’t speak english in the interview?
Oh, I totally forgot I saw him in Taegugi. See, the guy makes NO impression on me. I didn’t even remember him in a 2 hour movie. I loved Taegugi but I thought a lot of the acting was terrible. My favorite actor (Korean anyway) was in that–Choi Min Sik. He rules!! I remember Won Bin looking foxy. But I nearly forgot about the elder brother until it was mentioned.
LOL @ Aya….
I find it amazing that one would just keep posting/reply about someone she or he is not interested in. There are so many different topics in this blog and someone just has to keep making comment on a star that she or he hardly knows about or like. I am really curious what is the intention of that person. We know you are not interested in him, you don’t really need to emphasize on that. We are not dense nor stupid, we got your point. And beauty lies on the eye of the beholder so what is the problem about someone thinking dg is good looking.
Chingoo is probably the best movie of all time.. well, besides the other movies but it really is good…. REALLY good.
And yeah Dumpling I guess thats why the American news had to specify.
Clap, clap!! I totally agree with you, baBYGina!
yeah… if you dont have any interests on it.. just leave it alone.. peace!!
forget rainy-boy. jang dong-gun is korea’s greatest export!
“I am really curious what is the intention of that person.”
BabyGina, SHUT UP. People like you piss me off. First of all, no one has said horrible things about him. And I have seen him in TWO movies so I am qualified to speak about him if I want to. It’s not like if I were criticizing some actor I had never seen nor heard of. Secondly, this blog is for EVERYONE to comment about Korean celebrities. We don’t need to live with them in their own houses to make some criticisms. Thirdly, we ALL have to endure people we like being insulted. Deal with it. How many times have I read negative, unfounded, and sometimes CRUEL comments about Lee Jun Ki or Bae Yong Joon? Deal with it. How many times do Rain fans or Lee Hyori fans have to endure scathing remarks about their idols? Deal with it.
If it bothers you sooooooooo much, you can skip my post when you see my DUMPLING name in black at the top.
“yeah… if you dont have any interests on it.. just leave it alone..”
Nana, you sound silly.
“Clap, clap!! I totally agree with you, baBYGina!”
MonaLisa, you sound silly, too. But then again aren’t you the one who thinks you can’t get a tan from 10 hours of sun exposure as long as you wear sunscreen??
(rolls @@ eyes)
“Chingoo is probably the best movie of all time.. well, besides the other movies but it really is good…. REALLY good.”
I will check it out–does it have an English title? Sometimes can’t find Korean movies by the Korean title.
such a handsome man like him might as well stay single and get bundles of love from all his lady fans
JDG’s latest movie was “Typhoon”. Not the best storyline but entertaining and JDG was pretty good in it. He was good in “Friends” too.
Dumpling…I agree that based on his earlier stuff, he hasn’t shown to be the best actor and even he admits it. although i actually thought he was pretty good in “Taegukgi”. what i like about him as an actor is that he takes on different roles for the challenge and he continues to try to improve himself. and as a person, he’s really humble. my friend interviewed him while he was in LA promoting “Typhoon” and he was extremely gracious and accomodating. he definitely has that star aura about him when you meet him in person.
i honestly don’t think he’s that hot…
yes, i’m in the minority. oh well.
@ Cookhwan
UHH that was a CF and that’s a gochoojang (고추장) company name..
It’s not a person… xDD
Bet he is not to old to have sex. I’m sure he would not pass up a fine piece of pu**y.
^HAHA =D Crispy, damn straight on that one!
Sorry, long post ahead-
There has to be some rule against 4 posts in a row. Dumpling’s comments are making me spew.
I can deal w/ the fact that you’re not exactly a fan of JDG but telling other people to “SHUT UP” among other things (who says things in caps these days?) is, as you would say, silly.
Admittedly ‘The Promise’ was a bad movie. JDG’s character was poorly written. And I’ve seen much better performances from Nicholas Tse before.
By the way, if all you got from watching Tae Guk Gi was Won Bin looking foxy than I’m thinking you may have missed the plot.
I have to agree though the interview wasn’t overly enthralling. His responses were kinda vanilla but still there are thousands of women who would want to prove him wrong about being past the age to get married =)
Bring on Laundry Warrior!
“By the way, if all you got from watching Tae Guk Gi was Won Bin looking foxy than I’m thinking you may have missed the plot.”
Idiot, I said I LOVED ‘Taegukgi’. The fact that I said Won Bin looked foxy (foxy people look foxy even if they are in the middle of a battle zone) was NOT an indication that this was “all I got from the movie”. I did not feel the need to critique the movie beyond saying I loved it. I think most SMART people know the value of this film and don’t need me to explain it to them.
Smartass.
This guy is so over rated.
Don’t think he’s a great actor.
Yes, I agree that beauty is in the eye of the
beholder and he doesn’t appeal much in my eyes.
About being accommodating and nice, this is subjective bec he is a celebrity he is supposed to be nice.
What I can’t take is that Koreans expects so much for him to excel abroad just like he is at home. Koreans taste as compared to the world is much much different. He is overly promoted but I don’t think he can excel abroad. I agree with Dumpling, he should improve his acting.
Dong-gun has such a unique look: pretty without looking feminine. I think it works! He is very easy on the eyes…
I do think it is very possible he is gay and trying to get the word out for people to stop waiting for him to get married. But whatever! Who cares? I hope he’ll just live his life and find happiness wherever he finds it.
MonaLisa, you sound silly, too. But then again aren’t you the one who thinks you can’t get a tan from 10 hours of sun exposure as long as you wear sunscreen??
(rolls @@ eyes)
No, I’m not the one. Please double-check your facts.
But you did sound silly, so I got that fact right.
Even though I don’t know about this guy, I resent the idea that people assume a man to be gay becuase he hasn’t married yet. This is ignorant and small-minded. A wife can’t be plucked off a tree like a piece of fruit. Furthermore, celebrities don’t have the freedom to socialize and find a mate the way ordinary folk do. And they have a lot more pressures to deal with, such as “does this person love me for myself or for my fame and money?”, etc. In this day and age when the trends of marriageable ages is shifting, it is out-dated and stupid to assume a person is hiding something or has something wrong with them because they haven’t married by a set age. I’m actually glad that there are so many unmarried Asian celebrities in their 30s because this presents a new way of thinking to everyone else. People should take their time and find the right person no matter how long it takes.
what age is past the marrying age? Some one let me know…. By the way how old is he?
@ Poylnasian
He’s 35 i think
But some people aren’t ready to be married or do not want to be married ever (i am included in that small majority, but that’s neither here nor there). He probably will one day when he finds that perfect person. He is handsome i really don’t know who he is but there ya go !!
@ over:
totally agree. i never got the hype about it. maybe b/c my dad kinda looks like him–they have the same eyes, and i am not attracted to men who look like my dad, lol.
also, i watched taeguki, and i was surprised b/c won bin seemed to be a better actor that dong gun, and dong gun was more promoted. ehh whatever.
DUDE!! WHICH MONTH?! IS IT THE TIME ASIA OR THE BIG TIME MAGAZINE?? I REALLY WANT TO BUY THIS!!
Whatever you all critics say, we love him! I would die to meet him in person…
hi
i think why ?
you are good face and good eye
i think you cant find your love but i find …. you!!
marry mee!!
