Exiled singer and Korea’s most hated celebrity, Yoo Seung Jun and his son made the front cover of Men’s Health China this month. We can all see why Yoo made the cover, but why does he look so awkward holding and kissing his own son? Perhaps Yoo is not ready to become a dad, or perhaps he’s too busy for his own son. Or maybe he pissed off the editor of Men’s Health China. Who knows but that’s one awkward cover!
Pop in:
What happened to Yoo Seung-jun’s body?
Can Yoo Seung Jun come back to Korea?

I dont think he looks awkward. I think its absolutely darling! Hopefully the kid gets his looks from his daddy -Have u seen the mom?
He doesnt look awkward at all.
woahh
hotness
why is he hated? ;s
I think that the photo looks darling. ♥
He was born in Korea. So he should have done his military service. And he promised to do that appearing on TV shows. But once he achieved U.S. citizenship, he lied and has been deported. He’s talented but untrustworthy.
what a stupid reason to be deported
his arms look like sausages
The only things that look awkward are his arms…
His arms are so not attractive.
mmm….tastes like baby powder.
Yep his arms are ‘weird’ maybe his face expression could have been more sweeter….but that is all the akwardness I see
What are you talking about, popseoul?^^
i like the cover.
His arms are weird looking, but the way he holds his baby looks fine
the baby’s so cute! ^-^
Yeah, sorry Popseoul…i think the majority disagrees, he does NOT look awkward.
I agree with the concensus: he doesn’t look awkward but his arms look stupid. Baby is ADORABLE. I’m curious: if he is exiled in China is his wife Chinese?
@ DUMPLING, he isn’t exiled from China. He was exile from Korea. … or is he exile from China also???? because i only read how he was exile from korea..
Rumors has it he avoided having to service in the army and left for the States. Second rumor was that he left for the states before he was being drafted to pursue something (i forgot what i had read.. maybe it was for school or something? i dont know/remember anymore; it’s been SOOO LONGG!) but anyways, about the 2nd rumor; rumor also had it that he didnt avoid but more of he got permission to leave korea but somehow the media/news reporter published something else on the papers; that leading to everyone hating on YSJ and thought he ditch serving the army.
=====================
i guess teh only thing that’s awkward of the picture is that the upper part of the picture is a light shaded grey while the bottom part is a dark shaded colour? his arms colours doesnt matches up with his face? lol i dont know how else you saw it awkward, but the baby’s cute. i didnt notice he had a child. hmm congrats. lol im so late.
he wasn’t exiled in China and the reason he was exiled from Korea was for skipping the army. He lived in LA, he came over to LA when his time was coming and eventually something big happened (I think it was when he got american citizenship, but he had always been on and off in LA) and they banned him, it is REQUIRED in korea to serve your country, so it is not weird in my eyes that they exiled him. It’s damn straight, he should have been a man and taken the army duty. Instead of being so desperate to escape it he takes american citizenship. It’s fucked up. Although at this time many men were skipping their duties, Hee Jun had ‘hurt his back’ at the time he was called on, and many others, so it wasn’t uncommon, he just went to such great lengths to evade it.
His arm looks really really weird…fortunately his son is a cuttie
Somehow … that photo looks … well … photoshopped. While it’s an adorable picture, baby looks really big compared to his dad. Their heads look to be around the same size, too.
I think it’s a cute cover. His expression could be sweeter but for that I’d blame the photographer….should have directed his model better.
I’ve seen clips of him interacting with his son and he acted naturally around his son.
Thanks for posting the pic.
his son is darling~
this is not that awkward of a picture i don’t think haha.
it’s a shame what he did, but it’s understandable. i mean, hella people chickened out too. it’s just that he wussed out to the extreme lol. but hey, when korean men get assigned “military duty,” it’s not like they are actually going off to fight or anything right? it’s just training. and everyone has to do it so just suck it up, and you’ll come back with a rocking body
oh well, he made his decision, at least he looks good haha.
Ah oh well, lesson learned for all Korean celebs.
I remember his buzz cut = trend.
the only thing that looks awkward is his arms because they are too buff
wait… why is this awkward? he looks good!!!! and his baby’s soooo cute!!!!! >.< yeah, i wonder how much fake/real his biceps are- either way, they’re totally overdone
but, i don’t really know seung jun… why is he hated?
oh…. i don’t think you should hate a person for that….
He needs to lay off the steriods… His arms are out of proportion.
@ Chiaye,
I did not say exiled FROM China. Please read posts carefully before responding to them. I said exiled IN China.
Is he in China? I always thought he had a home in LA.
Stumpy arms
the pose is not awkward at all… and that’s such a stupid reason for being deported… even if it’s a cultural thing, it seems stupid.
i guess he got married??? or not……….
“and that’s such a stupid reason for being deported… even if it’s a cultural thing”
Again, people need to READ THOROUGHLY BEFORE REPLYING.
Doing MANDATORY military service in S. Korea is not “cultural”. It is the LAW. He broke the law and he was deported. Period. And it’s not stupid. Apparently, you know absolutely nothing about the Chinese and North Korean threat that S. Korea lives under on a daily basis which is the reason why their military service is MANDATORY (in case you missed it the first, second and third times this has been pointed out).
@ DUMPLING,
i dont understand the meaning of exile IN a country and exile FROM a country. How is it different?
I think she means exiled TO China.
ummm popseoul,
yoo seung jun is NOT the “most hated celebrity in korea”
your opinions should just stay in your own head….
your “opinions” trying to sound factual, that is
hahaa.
he looks grumpy xD
@ Misty,
Thanks. Yes, that is what it means.
@ Chiaye,
Is english your second language? Maybe this was why the term was hard for you to understand. There is a difference. If you are exiled IN a country, it’s because you were exiled FROM another country. Have you never heard of the Dalai Lama being “exiled in India” or “in exile in India” or even “living in exile in India”? They mean the same thing. Yoo is both exiled FROM Korea and IN exile IN China.
Hope this helps.
if ysg had just said…”No, I want to my retain my US citizenship” instead of saying he’ll serve his military and then skip out on it…he wouldn’t have thrown his career away.
Exiled in and exiled from have the same meaning.
Oh well, apparently he’s still making money even after disgracing himself, why else would he be on the cover of the magazine.
@ MERU, I thought it meant the same thing too.. thus I was confused as when dumpling said he was exile in (which is FROM since it meant the same thing) china.
@ DUMPLING, yes English is my second language. Your explanation doesn’t help me. You said, “There is a difference.” then says, “they mean the same thing.” that is not helping my ignorance of ‘in’ & ‘from,’ but i’ll leave it as that and not bother about the subject again. Thankyou for trying to explain though.
omggg his son is adorable little dumpling
poor YSJ i love him he is so talented and genuinly nice it is such a shame that people are rediculing him cause he didn’t go to the army sigh…anwyays i hope that his singing career works out cause he is so talented and i would hate to see that talent be wasted and also he is so nice i met him when i was in 6th grade and when his song “ga wi” was a mega hit he lived in my neighborhood and i met him at the park he was wearing a white wife beater and baggy jeans versace sunglasses and was plaing soccer he was soo frekeing nice i got his autograph i will always remember that day <3
