No, he’s not. The only connection that the scarved singer Sohn Ho-young has to Bumsuk-ing is that he recently attended the domestic designer’s (Choi Bumsuk) recent 2008 S/S Men’s collection. And yes, the name is really “Bumsuk.” In Korean, it’s pronounced a little different but in English, it’s a completely different story. Just imagine having a name like that, “wassup bumsuck, hi suck, hey bum”. A poor kid would be scarred for life! A name that is even worse than Bumsuk is “Boner”… for a girl. True story. A Korean grandfather wanted to give his granddaughter a more international name. The proud grandfather told an English speaking friend about his newly created name who ever so delicately explained its meaning and strongly encouraged him to change her name or else she would indeed be scarred for life.
