Choi Hong Man said himself that he used to be the smallest kid in class. He ate every 2 hours and grew big like that. His parents and rest of his family are average or on the small side actually. I don’t comment, usually find it more interesting to read what everyone else has to say but it seems that everyone has missed this point.
If you look at the first photo, under the main one, you’ll see that they aren’t on the same footing. It appears as though he’s standing a step lower than the girl, that plus the fact that he’s leaning forward a little is going to make him look shorter. I imagine they did this to “frame” the shot better, otherwise he might have looked like a pedophile posing with a fourteen year-old proportionally.
Also, if you have ever seen him on tv, he’s not that disproportionate looking. The dude’s 7′1″, as someone stated, if his head and hands were smaller, that might look odd too. Plus, the way his hair is styled is not helping any.
Either way, his head and hands are ginormous compared to everyone elses.

I looked at the photo again and it’s actually two steps. His left foot is two steps lower, and his right foot is one step lower, hence why his right knee is bent.
I’d say that would at least add another 10-12″ to his height, maybe more, depending on how shallow or deep the steps are, as well as his posture.
