When his thoughtful fans found out about his tiny injury they decided to do the unthinkable. They sent him life size inflatable female fun friends as a “get well soon” present. Yes, that’s right. Fans of BYJ sent the fella play dolls to speed up the recovery of his hand injury. Although we are not sure which hand he injured, I think fans mistook his name for BJ instead of BYJ.

Hallyu star BYJ sustained such a serious injury on his spine that it needs surgery while filming MBC blockbuster drama ‘TWSSG’.
However, BYJ, without informing this to its producing crew, is forcing himself filming of the ‘TWSSG’ where he is appearing as main character, Damdeok, while getting pain killer shots.
According to BYJ’s agency, BOF, BYJ suffered an accident of colliding with a stuntman who was coming down from above, while filming in ‘TWSSG’ set in Jeju Island in early November.
Although BYJ continued filming without showing any particular signs right after the accident, he complained of pain since then, so that he underwent examination in a hospital.
A BOF staff told, “BYJ got a diagnosis from the hospital that spinal nerve were damaged, ” and “A doctor told that situation was for him to be admitted to the hospital immediately and have a surgery, and he would know how much never damage he sustained only after direct visualization of the injured area.”
Followiing that, this staff added, “Because he cannot continue filming of the ‘TWSSG’ if he is operated on, he is in a condition of filming getting injection of pain killers, ” and “He is filming without informing news of his injury because that would make production crew and other cast worry.”
BYJ also sustained serious injury of severing a ligament in index finger in hir right hand as he was hit by a sword from opposite actor while he was filming the ‘TWSSG’ on past October 24.

It was belatedly known that BYJ, appearing in MBC drama ‘TWSSG’, had sustained serious injuries on cervical spine and ligament in shoulder following an injury in his finger.
However, BYJ is devoting himself entirely in acting tolerating pain with pain killers only in order to meet last moment filming schedule.
The accident occurred while filming a scene of fighting against Hwacheonhwoi entering Yeon Garyeo’s mansion after Damdeok and his crew found red jade, that was aired in 17th episode.
Because of mishandling of wire control, an opposite actor who were hanging in the air fell on BYJ’s neck.
BYJ, feeling severe pain to the extent he was not able to lift his head, was transported to a hospital, and got a diagnoses of ‘expulsion of interspinal plate (?disc) in cervical spine’ and ‘contusion on a ligament’ in shoulder.
Although the hospital recommended immediate admission to the hospital and surgery, BYj could not help but to return to filming site due to drama filming.
Although he is in condition of having a difficulty in holding up a prop sword at this time, he is working on filming barely tolerating pain with administration of analgegics several times a day and taping therapy only.
BYJ’s agency BOF told, “We are very much anxious about the situation where he cannot receive proper treatment despite grave injury,” and “as soon as the filming cranks up, we will pour all effort in Mr. BYJ’s treatment and recovery with hospitalization and surgery as the utmost priority.”
Drama ‘TWSSG’ has its last airing ahead of it on coming December 5 and is currently filming going back and forth filming sites in entire nation.

Injured Korean actor Bae Yong Joon gets quirky gifts from S’pore, Asian fans
An expensive pillow to relieve pressure. A back-support cushion. An inflatable life-size doll in a spaghetti-strap dress.
These items, which cost over S$500, are being air-mailed to Korean actor Bae Yong Joon’s management office.
The unusual items are from four of his fan clubs - Joon’s Family in Singapore, BYJ Together in Thailand, BYJ’s Malaysia Family and BYJ Indonesian Family.
The fans were reacting to the injuries sustained by Yong Joon, 35, while filming his new TV period drama The Legend.
In the series, currently showing in Korea, he plays a king who rises to power with the help of four gods.
Last Friday, Korean papers reported that he ruptured a cervical disc and sprained a shoulder ligament after an actor fell from a wire and landed on him.
Last month, he was injured twice - falling off a horse and then pulling a ligament in his right index finger while sparring with an opponent on the set.
He continued filming, despite being ‘unable to move his neck freely and suffering from severe pain’, reported the Korean Times.
A spokesman from his agency BOF said he is ‘battling on, using painkillers and tape supports’ and will only go for surgery after filming wraps up at the end of the month.
His worried fans from all over Asia have bombarded his official website, asking him to take care of his health.
Others, like Singapore Tiffany Oh, decided to do something about it. The Joon’s Family member got in touch with fan clubs in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia via SMS to discuss what presents to send him.
Flowers and fruit baskets would be too common.
So they decided to buy two ’super good’ Tempur pillows, which they think will help their idol recuperate.
“We figure he’ll be spending a lot of time in bed,” said Ms Oh,41.
The doll, which Ms Oh bought at a novelty shop along Orchard Road and got her ‘very amused’ husband to inflate with a pump, is meant to make her idol laugh, she said.
“It’s also a hint to him to settle down and get a woman to take care of him since we can’t,” she joked.
Another fan, Ms Feng Shaofang, 37, helped Ms Oh to send the package at Newton Post Office yesterday.
The postage cost about S$150.
Ms Feng was shocked to read about her idol’s injuries, but says: “We fans are just showing our support and cheering him up.”

Bae’s injury is actually quite serious. He hurt his finger first and that was no big deal but then a stunt man fell on top of his neck. After the shooting of the show in a few more days, he will need surgery, then a cast and than therapy. He is lucky he didn’t become paralyzed.

I totally agree. I never ever understood the hatred or extreme dislike that backed some of the blogs bashing Rain. I always wondered what did HE do to make people dislike him? As far as I know, his whole concert controversy is due to his producers who aren’t responsible enough. Other than that, I don’t see a reason to be so critical of someone who doesn’t deserve all the criticism he’s recieving.
Same with BYJ, I don’t understand why people dislike him. From what I’ve seen he’s an femine-ish looking guy, but he has charisma and he’s not a bad actor. Yeah he may seem metro or gay at times, but I don’t think it’s enough to justify whether he IS gay or not. Otherwise…it’s kind of pointless to accuse someone of their sexual orientation, especially if it isn’t true. Anyways, it’s not like I’ll ever know him personally, but unless he does something stupid or careless that is going to ruin his reputation, I think I’ll hold a pretty objective view on him, unlike other people.
