Nobody wants to pay to eat with the Wondergirls

Wondergirls_200712

Although it was reported that Dinner Date with the Wondergirls was auctioned off for approximately 20 million won, the winners of the bid forfeited their date because they did not want to cough up that much dough to eat with underaged girls. As a result, the organizer (auction.co.kr) scrambled other bidders last minute and collected only about 1.5 million won from four other people.

As expected, this dirty little secret is receiving minimum media coverage, similar to Ivy’s auction which also fizzled because the bidder walked away from the table with his sweet money.

So there you have it. Wondergirls is only worth 1.5 million won (approximately US$1,500) and Ivy zip.

  4. 4 DEO December 23, 2007 at 12:28 am

I guess older men really don’t want to spend time with underaged girls, especially if they aren’t getting anything out of it.

As far as Ivy’s audition, I would walk away too since you’re paying to become her personal assistant and whatnot.

  5. 5 Blahblahbon December 23, 2007 at 12:29 am

If you think that’s funny…it’s actually about 150 Dollars, not 1,500 dollars Popseoul.
The wondergirls are even cheaper than you though, once again.
let’s all laugh and point, together now~

  6. 6 Eve December 23, 2007 at 12:36 am

um that’s not how an auction works….if you bid, you have to pay. That’s just stupid >.> Don’t bid if you don’t think that you’re going to do it. That’s the whole point.

  7. 7 Whatever December 23, 2007 at 12:47 am

    150 000 South Korean won = 159.15 U.S. dollars

    Thank you google.

I actually feel sorta bad, it must be disappointing.

  8. 8 heyleadinglady December 23, 2007 at 12:53 am

  14. 15 May December 23, 2007 at 2:20 am

haha. so it IS young fanboys.

  15. 16 Dumpling December 23, 2007 at 2:40 am

It makes you “wonder” about their fan base. I would assume it to be teen girls. In that case it would make more sense for some kid’s rich parents to bid for the dinner. Were they expecting grown men to bid for this?? Crazy.

  16. 17 tenretni December 23, 2007 at 2:43 am

funniest thing ever!! i think its more resonable..plus there are just kids, and paying that much to eat with them is just too creepy …

  17. 18 xxcrazy_onexx December 23, 2007 at 2:48 am

hmmm thats stupid. if u bid, u pay -_-;; when did backing out ever become an option?
i feel bad for the girls….and the other people who would’ve ACTUALLY ate with them after bidding

  18. 20 becker December 23, 2007 at 3:27 am

They should have an agreement before people bid to prevent something like this from happening again.

“If you bid and you don’t pay up, you automatically have to pay some penalty money… to prevent some people who tend to bid “for fun”. -_____- “

  19. 21 Cindel December 23, 2007 at 3:34 am

WTF? Since when is backing out an option? Why did they even bother to bid?

  20. 22 superoshi December 23, 2007 at 3:42 am

20 dollars won! here i am!

  21. 23 whatever~ December 23, 2007 at 3:45 am

well, this sucks ¬¬ I agree with becker

  22. 24 Brina December 23, 2007 at 3:59 am

    Its stupid to begin with.

  23. 25 fan December 23, 2007 at 4:12 am

it wasn’t stupid, more sad because it was for charity.

  24. 26 oh my~ December 23, 2007 at 4:22 am

    thats just downright embrassing…

  25. 27 BKJSuh December 23, 2007 at 5:17 am

    1 word.

    Boned.

  26. 28 Mac December 23, 2007 at 5:42 am

Thats deep. I agree with what most people are saying. Its an auction and your not supposed be able to back out once you’ve won. What also makes it worse is that it was for charity. The winner could have brought some people with them-in all aid for charity. I feel bad for WG :(

  27. 29 Korean Ajusshi December 23, 2007 at 5:43 am

I still give WG props for their charitable act. The bid for them was still better than nothing towards charities. Too bad that the bidders were too cheap to bid more for them.

  28. 30 DBSK’s GirlFan December 23, 2007 at 6:17 am

Not only one pp back out, but all five of them back out.
Ahahaahahahah!!!!!!!! No wonder the bid went sooo high. Maybe some of the member in the group did do the bidding to create the buzz for themselves.
Now Tellllllllllllllllllllllll me!!!!!! Telllllllllllllllllllll me !!!!!!! Don’t try to keep “minimum media coverage”. Let’s TELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL MEEEEEEE

So now each of them worth $300
    Ahahaahahah!!!!

  29. 31 Narae December 23, 2007 at 6:59 am

That’s less money for charity…and that, people, ain’t funny!
WonderGirls pride? Oh please, the girls are doing just fine. It’s not a bid that would determine their worthiness…don’t be stooopid!
Those guys are down right idiotic for bidding and then backing out…sigh
    Like WonderGirls would sing: 바보!!!

  30. 32 for real December 23, 2007 at 8:11 am

    once again those ugly wondergirls…

  31. 33 Cassidy December 23, 2007 at 8:29 am

Whoa, that’s kind of mean. But it makes more sense now, I guess. A dinner isn’t worth that much, no matter who it’s with.

  32. 34 joyce December 23, 2007 at 9:36 am

i actually think there was something fishy going on..
i mean.. the idea of people backing out in the last minute for an auction date/concert isnt really new

  33. 35 Silently December 23, 2007 at 9:45 am

This is hilarious and they should take affense that im laughing at them. This is a huge reminder them that thier still kids not the hottest women in the world

  34. 36 madcool December 23, 2007 at 11:03 am

the whole bidding thing was kind of shady in the first place. Whatev, WG hasn’t lost anything, at least give them credit for trying to help a cause.

  35. 37 junsufan December 23, 2007 at 11:07 am

    that’s so embarrassing.. U___U
    but kinda funny.. :p

  36. 38 polynasian December 23, 2007 at 11:17 am

Well, wonder girls it is time for you gals to find dates your own age.

  37. 39 Ai December 23, 2007 at 11:22 am

Oh well. I bet the winners are teenage boys since they can’t pay for the bid.

  38. 40 measuringsummer December 23, 2007 at 1:34 pm

That equals to US$300 per girl! Cheap!

  39. 41 apple3_pi3 December 23, 2007 at 2:10 pm

actually i agree with joyce..something fishy is going on,,lyk, all 5 of them dropping out?in the same time too…

  40. 42 VANA December 23, 2007 at 3:11 pm

how is this funny when all that money could have gone to charity.

  41. 43 Dovey December 23, 2007 at 3:19 pm

    Oh, well…too bad.

  42. 44 Chantelle December 23, 2007 at 3:50 pm

Aww I feel so sorry for them and…HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I’m sorry but that’s too funny. Maybe this was done deliberately to make them feel bad/ If not it was a colossal waste of people’s time.

  43. 45 ew December 23, 2007 at 4:42 pm

why are they even bidding for the stars??? and when no one bids or thier worth is cheap, its soooo embrassing…
    like suju.. ivy…

    embarassing and funny..

  44. 46 ew December 23, 2007 at 4:44 pm

they should bid on the stars things or stuffs… so it would not be too embarassing…

  45. 47 HL December 23, 2007 at 5:52 pm

why the hell would someone bid and then back out? and for charity too. stupid. i like wg and i feel bad for them. celebs should auction off their stuff or something instead of themselves next time.

  46. 48 blinkable December 23, 2007 at 9:42 pm

wow, this do happen~eh? it’s embarassing right? ><

  47. 49 kellz December 23, 2007 at 10:45 pm

ouch!that’s gotta hurt..i really agree with ‘HL’

  48. 50 ShinhwaAndWG December 24, 2007 at 1:37 am
