#7 POPSEOUL! Fools & Tools: Bada
We here at POPSEOUL! gave up on Bada end of this year when we realized that she wants to be the youngest ajumma looking celeb. No matter how many times we mocked her for looking like a drag, a smurf, a low class hooker or the next KFC model or advised her to get a new stylist when she mistook a rat’s nest as hair, she won’t listen. Hopefully she’ll listen to us next year to save her sinking career.
#6 POPSEOUL! Fools & Tools: Yun Eun Hye
With overly sensitive fan base who cries whenever we point out the obvious flaws of her body, Yun Eun Hye was an easy target.
The ex-Babyvox member started out the year looking like the 2nd Andre Kim in the making, but quickly transformed herself into Coffee Prince’s Eun Chan, a tomboy with an an annoying voice, ugly haircut and an unattractive figure.
After Coffee Prince, Yun Eun Hye signed on with Kraze Entertainment, whose parent company is famous for its burgers. She also tried to remind us that she’s a girl with feminine magazine shoots, but that’s not going to happen until she learns how to fill a dress properly.
#5 POPSEOUL! Fools & Tools: Bae Yong Joon
Yongsama successfully transformed into an ajumma this year so he can better connect with his ajumma fan base. He first started out by growing out his hair, softening his face and finally completed his look with femmy hands.
In addition to his transformation success, Bae Yong Joon’s latest drama, The Legend became a huge hit, confirming Bae’s power to attract the ajumma force who isn’t shy to ship him inflatable friends as a get well present.
#4 POPSEOUL! Fools & Tools: Andre Kim
Andre Kim might be a revered fashion designer in Korea, but he’s nothing more than an Alien with spray painted hair walking around in space suits here at POPSEOUL! And we had a blast taking him apart this year for the man ubiquitous in the celeb scene. Hopefully he’ll retire from the same flowery dresses next year and show us something new for a change.
#3 POPSEOUL! Fools & Tools: JYP
JYP was mostly in the background as a producer during the first part of the year. He taught Wondergirls how to dance and prepared J.Lim, G-Soul and Min for their grand US debut.
But the attention hungry producer, who wanted to liberalize Korean through his plastic pants couldn’t resist coming back on stage, so he lost 10 kgs to pose half naked for his album cover.
JYP came back back with tight beats and tighter pants, a correlation that should never exist. But his tight pants made him 2007 Korea’s Best Dresser.
The Brain also lived out his wildest fantasies in his MV with sexy Kim Hye Soo and on stage at Buchun. Fortunately for all, JYP is returning to his back-end job as a producer next year. But I’m sure that we’ll get a glimpse of the dancing gorilla from time to time.
#2 POPSEOUL! Fools & Tools: Rain
The golden pig year started out very promising for “world star” Rain. “Its Raining” concerts in Asia were somewhat successful, despite his injury in Hong Kong, but everything went downhill once he parted with his Brain, JYP.
Rain was involved in a law suit with the generic name “Rain” and eventually pissed off the US Clouds by canceling the concerts last minute. But the Clouds shouldn’t be so upset, because Rain already lost his magical touch.
Then he created two companies, a temporary one named Rainy Entertainment and a permanent one J.Tunes, confirming that Rain is just a Pinky.
To make up for his losses from the Its Raining concert fiasco, Mr. Rain started to sponsor everything under the run. Rain was involved in the AIDs campaign, supported EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking) for MTV, became the PR ambassador for 2011 International Association of Athletics Federation’s and agreed to become the spokesperson for Fu Ma cakes.
Fortunately for the Clouds, Rain was also the face of CK and Giordano, giving them something to stare at while the rest of the world is making fun of him.
But 2007 wasn’t a complete failure for Rain. He managed to get on the Colbert show and he even filmed Speed Racer with his poor English skills. Despite all his stupid mistakes, if you are still in love with Rain, check out our tips on becoming Rain’s lover.
#1 POPSEOUL! Fools & Tools: Super Junior
How boring would this year have been without these 13 Freaks R Us and the Elves on our radar?
2007 started out pretty rough for these boys who were in a car accident back in April. Although they are all better now, Lee Teuk had 170 stitches and Kyu Hyun was in intensive care for quite some time.
These boys also created many controversies by purely acting stupid. Dong Hae pissed off the Chinese fans because he cursed at them at the airport and Lee Teuk was in the hot seat because he lied about a dumb cyworld friend invitation.
This mob of SM trainees also made us question their sexuality. Lee Teuk and Shindong dressed up as drags, Siwon kissed other SuJu members, Kangin made out with a gag man, they all danced in tights and Hee Chul used the ladies room. In fact, we saw too much of Hee Chul this year, which wasn’t necessary because he can’t sing or dance.
The SuJu boys also released a movie that flopped, but this didn’t deter them from releasing their 2nd album which earned them the title “Freaks R Us.” Violinist Henry was inserted into the group which started a war between the Elves and SM.
But out of all these crazy things, the boys tried to give back by donating blood and hosting charity events.

I just visit this blog to know about them, but all I can find is popseoul bashing and making negative comments about them and other artists. Maybe becuase popseoul doesn’t have anything good to do in its life than just critizicing people, especially artists. (Hey, artists are also human beings, they make mistakes too). So no matter what this stupid blog says about the artists, and especially of Super Junior, I just won’t take it in consideration, ’cause I have my own criteria to not get influeced by this all s**t.

There’s nothing foolish or toolish about Bae Yong Joon, so I’m not real sure where this forced hatred of him is coming from or what the point is. Usually, when you’re going to call someone a fool or a tool, you have something to back up why. I caught the first episode of Cruel Love (or Bad Love as it is callled in some parts of the world) with Kwon sang-wu in it yesterday. It looks quite promising, couldnt help but feel Rain would have done quite well in it too, considering how similar it looks and feels like A love to Kill.
It also brought to mind what you said some months back that he should just stick to being an actor cos I think he has decent acting chops.
Then again it had that other guy from Full House so it would be a bit odd, cos the (sAD melodramatic) setting is totally different from Full House.

I could not stand her character in Coffee Prince - she was over-acting throughout the whole drama (ok, I have to admit that my dislike started from Goong - she could not act to save her life!!!) and it was a torture to watch a tomboy eat that way! Get real! Even men don’t eat like that!

Man all I have to say is JYP FOR 2008!!!!! GO GO GO!! (Or you know if DBSK comes back Korea we’ll have some at least fanservicey stuff to poke at to tick off the Cass. fans) I don’t think SJ will top the list next year with Rain and JYP being such contenders (and the YEH Fans, oh and if Cass and primadonna go at it again…darn what a year). That and well it’s starting to get as boring as heck.
With that said JYP for 08 man JYP.
I have to agree with most everyone you put on the list. Although I would have put JYP as #1.
Also agree with the other posters, you are a bit harsh on these celebs. I’m not a particular fan of the Perez Hilton style bashing on celebs. It’s fine to point out faults, but not really necessary to rub it in.
That being said, thanks a lot for the website. It’s my fav, and most up to date, of all the other k-pop sites I know.
i agree with this list, especially andre kim and JYP. however, i was surprised about what you said about yun eun hye. i’m not a fan of her, but i never thought she had an “annoying voice”…? or a “flawed body”. does that make her any less of a human?
i think Rain should have been number 1 seeing you wrote more on him then SuJu. I found some of it funny. but that comment on Yun Eun Hye was mean. Her legs are messed up but I like that about her its makes her seem down to earth.

I do think Drizzle is a terrific actor. I thought he was top-notch in Cyborg, and good in Full House. The actor I like…it’s his alter ego “Rain” that I can’t stand. Have a happy new year!
