The 2007 MBC Drama Awards was a big enough honor to bring out the Bae Yong-joon out from Neverland to accept the award for the Grand Prize (대상) the highest honor and also the Netizen’s Choice Award.
Yun Eun-hye and Gong Yoo were recognized for their outstanding acting skills for the popular hit drama, Coffee Prince.
The MBC Awards recognizes excellence in acting by being generous with its recognition. Two persons from each category for the best and outstanding actor/actress awards are chosen (sometimes translated as ‘top excellence’ and ‘excellence’ awards). Based on such a system, it seems that almost everyone on an MBC drama picked up an award. A win-win situation for the actors, but at the same time, the seriousness of the awards is watered down. Do they really need 2 separate categories for “top excellence” and “excellence” in acting?

All awards aside, check out the star style.
Bae Yong-joon brings matching crutches to the show. Even though the man is ajummafied, his penguin suit is no frills and classic.
Jang Hyuk. The actor recently announced that he and his pilates instructor gf are expecting a baby in February next year. The scandalous actor’s white tie is nearly invisible against his shirt of the same color.
Joo Ji-hoon. We all know that the man needs to munch on a few big macs, but trying to bulk up by wearing a rabbit fur vest/jacket/bolero over his jacket is not trend-setting, it’s a fashion faux-pas. Poor rabbit.
Lee Joongi is wearing a cream jacket that looks 3 sizes too big. In fact, it looks like they photoshopped his head to this outfit. And what’s with all the tanner? Or should I say, “color lotion”
Lee Jia. The actress admitted to designing this dress all by herself. She should have just kept it in the closet. Notice that the string from the word “brightest” on the side of her dress is long enough to be twirled around the finger ? this one is not bright, it’s dumb. Also, the hair in the face, clunky louboutins and the white chiffon prom reject dress screams fashion disaster.
Lee On (Coffee Prince ) keeps it simple and in reverse constrast with the black shirt and white tie.
Gong Yoo. The cute Coffee Prince star will be heading out for his military service in January. This will probably be one of his last public appearances, so enjoy. Check him out here. (in Korean)
Han Jimin in a pale shade of dust. The dress must be borrowed because it’s 2 sizes too big. The makeup, on the other hand, specifically the shiny and rosy cheeks and shimmering eyes look great. Check out her style here. (in Korean)
Koh Eun-mi. Another ill-fitting and ddm looking white dress.
Kong Hyojin. Known for her less than stylish picks, the pinkish chiffon number seems to work. And she’s the got the thin stems to pull off the ankle straps. Check out her dress at all angles here.(in Korean)
Lee Phillip. Like Joongi (check above), the man has dipped into the color lotion that’s a few shades darker than his real skin color. Not only that, I think he’s got more makeup on… the darkened eyebrows and rosy colored pout. He just looks fake. Check him out here. (in Korean)
Lee Yoonji. Can someone tell these young actresses to pick something that fits them instead of wearing crinkled wax paper? Also, if the dress needs to be shortened into a micro mini, then please hem it so it looks professional and not like you pinned it up with some safety pins. Ugh. Check out a short clip of her here. Nam Sang-mi knows how to pose (with 1 arm resting on the hip), but she needs to work it more. But with such an ugly 2 toned dress, there is only so much you can do. The style is ok, but the color ages her 20 years. Check out her style here. (in Korean)
Park Jung-a gives Hyori a run for her money with this simple shimmery peach dress. It’s elegant and hugs her curves all in the right places. A winner. (Park Jung-a picked up an award for Radio)
Park Shin-hye. Can’t figure out what her angle is. Is she trying to be a chic painter (the hat), a glamourous star (the long gloves), casual (glad garbage bag dress), or sexy huntress (strappy shoes). All put together, this outfit is a disaster.
Yun Eun-hye. For a change in fashion, the Coffee Prince star dons a long black wig and clown pants pulled up over her chest. There is no other way to describe what she is wearing. Yun Eun-hye ends the year with the ugly bomb. Check out her pants here. (in Korean)

C’mon, admit it, you’re just jealous of her. Her role was to be a boyish girl in the series. How could you expect a girly girly to act like she did. *sigh*, jealousy is bad, you’re fans, you only support, you don’t work like the actors do, at least appreciate their hardwork before criticizing them
well. she may deserve the new comer award. but definitely popuarity and coupel awards. here are some other that deserve that. she is just riding on BYJ’s fame.
Some of these commentaries borders on ridiculous to downright insane. I mean seriously, why such harsh critiques and ridicule towards people!!!NO ONE HERE KNOWS!! They are purely entertainers for our benefits and for them whatever they want it to be. I understand that everyone here is entitled to his/her opinions, but abusing the person’s character and calling them foul names, makes to whomever the cap fits — PETTY!!! Yes, some of the outfits and styles are questionable , but does that give any of you the right to bash/badmouth the person. I don’t see why you’ll beating up your chests. Are any of you getting any awards? NO!!! Do you live with these people? That’s a double HELL NO!!! So how about, if you cannot critique in a constructive manner, SHUT THE HELL UP and keep your bloody opinions to yourself. Why waste your breath talking crap about those who know nay of your existence. If you go to bed and wake up this event would be like any ole day. So, your favorite actor/actress didn’t get what you thought they should have. Get it together; there are bigger issues in the world.
P.s. Sujini was awesome in the legend. Eun Hye was Superb in Coffee Prince. Both were very convincing in their roles, give credit where its due otherwise, just shut the Hell up if u nuh have nuttin betta fi seh, thats my opinion. Thank You.
