DBSK’s Choi Kang Chang Min is more than a pretty face

Dbsk_200801

While many “socially conscious” celebrities are stepping in to clean up the East Sea oil spillage aka take advantage of the media photo opportunities, DBSK’s Choi Kang Chang Min’s recent stint at the oil spillage site was done in secret. Neither the media, nor SM Entertainment were aware of Choi Kang Chang Min’s covert operation until it was revealed by omniscient Cassiopeias.

Glad to know that at least one prettied face celebrity’s intensions are in the right place, unlike other celebrities like Lee Hyori who televises trips to Africa.

Choi Kang Chang Min plans to return to DBSK’s promotional activities in Japan after visiting family in Korea.

  6. 6 Jackie January 5, 2008 at 12:40 am

Changmin is awesome! I always knew it. Dong Bang (minus junsu) are truly awesome and substantial dudes! Yay! for celebrities that do things out of genuine goodness and not photo opportunities!

Mad props to him for doing something for the enivornment and actually wanting to do it with a clean heart.

  20. 20 Blahblahbon January 5, 2008 at 2:02 am

I don’t even like DBSK, but i officially LOVE Changmin.
Check it out, he helped instead of getting plastic surgery, and look! He didn’t even have to wear a shirt that says “save the world” in fact, he did it in secret…There’s someone who actually cares.

    Go Changmin.

  21. 21 moooo January 5, 2008 at 2:12 am

There’s a reason why I’ve always liked Changmin best in DBSK.

  22. 22 apple3_pi3 January 5, 2008 at 2:34 am

  23. 23 sabrina January 5, 2008 at 2:44 am

lol it’s choi kang because that means the best
    ㅋㅋㅋ
I think you got his stage name confused with his real name
    his last name is shim
    ㅋㅋㅋ

  24. 24 ... January 5, 2008 at 2:45 am

He did it in secret meaning he didn’t do it just for attention.

    Sighh~

    -

    Some rants,,

I hate how people say TVXQ are so overrated.

Its like every new band that comes from SM is labelled ‘overrated’. =|

TVXQ worked for what they wanted,,

And when 1 SM town artist receives an award, its called ‘corrupted’. Ai. >_>

  25. 25 hearmeroar January 5, 2008 at 2:52 am

love this kid. not only is he super hot, but he has a good heart!

  26. 26 onigiri January 5, 2008 at 2:52 am

awww that’s so sweet of him to help. and
in secret too without attention :)
    DBSK <33

i hope more people follow his lead.

  27. 27 Kristina January 5, 2008 at 3:06 am

    good for him ! :)
its kind of scary cassiopias found out about this though.
    they have skillz.

  28. 28 VY January 5, 2008 at 3:07 am

it really nice of him. changmin alway seem to be like that..love DBSK :)

  29. 29 marmar January 5, 2008 at 3:08 am

TO: Doggy Supreme- IMO means In My Opinion..

To: …- obviously your talking to me since I’m the only one that said “overrated”. If you got a problem with what I said just call me out, instead of beating around the bush.
Yes to me I think they are overrated. They are boring to me and I don’t see what’s all the hype about them. I don’t think all of SM artists are overrated just a few.

Just because I think they are overrated doesn’t mean I think they are bad ppl and that they didn’t work hard for there achievements, because they have and the members are good hearted guys, but once again I think they are overrated though.

  33. 33 Hanneebuff January 5, 2008 at 3:36 am

Thanks for the news. Changminnie really has a good heart. I hope the other’s will learn from his example (not use helping etc as publicity stunts). I hope it returns to him a hundredfold.

I’m a proud fan of TVXQ.

  34. 34 soju January 5, 2008 at 3:50 am

i never really liked this group, either, but it’s nice to know that one of their members truly has his heart in the right place. soju has mad respect for changmin!

  35. 35 phiof1point618 January 5, 2008 at 4:05 am

this made my morning. i heard about this yesterday and was hoping others would notice it too. thank you popseoul! changmin, good job man.

  36. 36 HappyKpopLover January 5, 2008 at 4:12 am

AAAWWWWWW!!! Changmin’s becoming one of my favorite these days. Not only has he become more handsome but his pure heart makes me like him even more. It’s things like this that makes me happy to be a TVXQ fan.

  37. 37 luna January 5, 2008 at 4:28 am

hmm.. what makes you guy think chang min is the only one doing it? - you knows.. maybe other celebs have been doing it for ages…
and who knows? maybe hyori too!

  38. 38 spin January 5, 2008 at 4:35 am

    Such a class act.

this is why i’m a fan of DBSK - the charisma they have is more than something PR ppl or lighting and makeup can bring out - they’re really dedicated people, and it shows in everything they do :P

    changmin is a sweetie ~

  39. 39 se7enfan January 5, 2008 at 4:37 am

Really looking forward to seeing his look as a man!!! I see the most potential growth for him in the looks category…really!

  40. 40 Arie January 5, 2008 at 4:37 am

    haha~ He’s such a nice guy ^^
I’m really happy to see Korean celebrities doing charity with pure purposes instead of doing just for the press =) (Not only him, I’m sure there are others doing it too)

I’m just sad that ChangMin lost the ponytail, I had such a crush on his ponytail lol
    And yes, I’m a fan, though I’m not a crazy-over-the-top-let’s-kill-little-girls-and-send-hate-messages kinda fan X’D (I’m a quiet fan lol)

  41. 41 spin January 5, 2008 at 4:39 am

^ haha. but you weren’t happy when minnie chopped off the hair?

Most of his fans were :p

  42. 42 Jackie January 5, 2008 at 4:47 am

omg the hair was gorgeous!! He looked like a hott Island boy xD I miss it like crazy *le sigh*

  43. 43 yeli January 5, 2008 at 4:57 am

is it just me, or is he becoming better looking than the rest of the DBSK guys? he is growing up well..imagine how he will look when he matures more!…for some reason i like his lips hehe…

anyways, that’s very nice of him. it reminds me of the time rain was secretly helping a fan of his who was diagnosed with cancer (i think?) right after she gave birth (dont remember exactly)…

the fact that Changmin did it in secret shows that he did it because he CARES and not for the publicity, which is nice to see for a change. i wonder how much he donated…

  44. 44 BKJSuh January 5, 2008 at 5:13 am

I am glad there are celebs in Korea that does it from their heart not from their head.

    Hwaiting Chang Min!

  48. 48 Hola~ January 5, 2008 at 6:12 am

Really impressed. Never been a big Chang Min fan but now I am. It’s nice to see a celebrity that does good work for the community not just to get good press.

Awww, Minnie! I always knew he had a good head on his shoulders. More should learn from him.

  61. 61 sez January 5, 2008 at 8:05 am

aww our dear minnie!! <3 That’s very cool of him. So he’s the only one who went back? It’s good he got to see family.

  62. 62 penguin_x3 January 5, 2008 at 8:12 am

as much as I think DBSK is overrated also, I always thought Changmin was the best and this just proves that.

  63. 63 Korean Ajusshi January 5, 2008 at 8:17 am

Popseoul!, I’m sure one or both of you ladies have a crush on this fellow, which isn’t a bad thing, but it shows that you are being biased…, again. Maybe some people can be as cynical and biased as you and say that he didn’t need to reveal it himself, because he knew that he can rely on his loyal Cassiopeias to do it for him - which is how it seems. How do you know whether some of the K-celebs that you hate did the same and are still anonymous because they don’t have maniac fans, like DBSK? And, really, what’s wrong with mixing some self-promotions with good deeds by the celebs who depend on exposures for living? If it can serve the purpose of inspiring people to join their causes, it’s all good. Hyori ain’t the first star to go on a publicized charity trip to Africa and, in fact, she’s following (copying) the footstep of other stars, like Angelina Jolie. Maybe you hate AJ, too, but you get the point. Have you personally and voluntarily done anything to help the needy? No, you say, because you are not a manipulative star who need to do it for publicity? Oh, okay, then.

  64. 64 F January 5, 2008 at 8:30 am

Um, not trying to bring down the Changmin-love, but why would he do that in secret? If you’re gonna help out, then help out, no need to hide it. Or maybe -gasp- he was just pretending to do a “covert operation” because he knew that people were going to find out anyway and then it would seem like he wasn’t trying to gain publicity and then he’d gain publicity!!!

Just kidding. But I don’t know, it just seems sort of weird. So, what, people like Han Hyo Joo were only helping clean up the spill to “take advantage of the media photo opportunities”?

  65. 65 me_as_you January 5, 2008 at 8:41 am

i think you guys missed the point with hyori televising her trip to africa, she did it to raise awareness of the situation over there, which clearly did work

i know you writers have the intellect of a 14 year old but let’s try to think a little more intelligently before writing

  66. 66 jyyjc January 5, 2008 at 8:48 am

now i just love changminnie even more.

  67. 67 Angelofdeath1992 January 5, 2008 at 8:53 am

YAY!!!! GO MAX!!!! Moments like these makes me feel so proud to be an DBSK fan!!!! I don’t think that Max is the kind of person that would do it just for publicity. I BELIEVE IN U MAX WOOT WOOT!!!!!!!

  68. 68 Diane January 5, 2008 at 8:54 am

Why wouldn’t he do it in secret?
You guys know how Cassiopeia reacts. If they found out one of their beloved members was at some place, wouldn’t they all rush to go see him? Photographers and reporters would be surrounded the place in an instant. (Okay, I’m exaggerating, but I hope you get my point.)
In case some of you guys don’t know, DBSK got only 10 days of vacation in Korea (Junsu and Yunho got 5 days). If Changmin wants to spend 1/10 of his vacation days with his dad helping out, so be it.
There are tons of celebrities in Korea that could be helping out, but only a few chose to do so. At least he’s doing something about it.

Btw, it’s rare for POPSEOUL! to praise a DBSK member, or DBSK as a whole for that matter so you can’t really say they are being biased.

  69. 69 Wendy January 5, 2008 at 9:08 am

    that’s our minnie!!

  70. 70 eydbsk January 5, 2008 at 9:08 am

    i agreee with diane..

changmin has a very warm heart..
    he’s a wonderful guy

  71. 71 T January 5, 2008 at 9:15 am

er actually he did inform SM Entertainment, upon which they said “oh maybe we should put some media on the case” to which he said “no no i am going with my father during my ten days off please keep it a secret”

then a fan found out and confirmed it with SM and that is how the original article was written

    please get your stories straight

  72. 72 Rubby January 5, 2008 at 9:16 am

I am so glad that baby Chan Min still has a good heart……….other celebrities should learn from him
I am so proud of you….God bless your heart….

  73. 73 Kristen January 5, 2008 at 9:20 am

Haha, I wonder if he’s really annoyed that it got out. But it’s cool that he did that, and not for publicity.

  74. 74 nicole January 5, 2008 at 9:26 am

    ah, gotta love changmin.

  75. 75 ... January 5, 2008 at 9:39 am

    @marmar

Eh? Who said I was just talking about you? Alot of people think TVXQ is overrated. Some of my friends don’t happen to like SMTown at all. I wasn’t directing it at you dot dot dot..

Lol to be honest, I didn’t even read your comment. = =

Like I said, it was just my little mini-complaining-moment of the day. :|

  76. 76 Arie January 5, 2008 at 9:40 am

@spin: nope, I loved his ponytail, it was too handsome, in Summer Dream it was to drool for!
-though my fave is still Junsu ____< they could go nutters and kidnap the boy X’D

  78. 78 Arie January 5, 2008 at 9:41 am

@spin: nope, I loved his ponytail, it was too handsome, in Summer Dream it was to drool for!
though my fave is still Junsu!
@Diana: I totally agree with you, if Cassies would’ve have found out beforehand it would’ve been a major chaos!
Imagine just the fangirl-ism >____< they could go nutters and kidnap the boy X’D
(anyway, why does Junsu and Yunho have half the vacation time?)

(this thing ate half of my post .__.)

  79. 79 Mila January 5, 2008 at 9:53 am

    Korean Ajusshi, STFD

Lets make it known that I don’t like DBSK or their bats**t crazy fans. Would I have sex with each of them? Yes, but I’d hate them all in the morning. With that being said, it’s very rare for a KOREAN celeb or any celeb for that matter to do anything without wanting something in return.

If your going to volunteer YOU DON’T NEED A FREAKIN CAMERA CREW with you. Not to sound like an after school special but you do good deeds out of the kindness of your heart, not for publicity.

There has yet to be a photo of him even helping,so much for a photo op. It’s clear that if one of his stalkers didn’t say anything then no one would have knew.

He could have requested that his nutter fans volunteer and they would have at the drop of a hat because “DBSK asked them”. Simply talking can inspire people more than anything. [HELLO IOWA!]

And as much of an attention “slore” I sometimes think Jolie secretly is, she done more good for a cause in 1 year then Hyori will ever do in her life time. With and without a camera. Most of the time, to give Jolie credit the photographers follow her.

So yeah, to rap it up there are plenty of people who volunteer famous or not and ask for no recognition what so ever. Hyori & her people went out of their way to make it known to damn near everyone that she was going to Africa. Hell, CNN couldn’t have covered her trip better. Changmin did the exact opposite and went out of his way to not let anybody know when he could have milked this into media gold[and if SM had any say they would have]. That’s the meaning of volunteering. Doing good deeds because you WANT TO and not because it’s a good photo opportunity.

    Cookies to him.

  80. 80 Cassidy January 5, 2008 at 9:58 am

Aww Changminnie!! <3 That’s soo nice.

  81. 81 classicaldancer January 5, 2008 at 10:07 am

  83. 83 kayla January 5, 2008 at 10:13 am

@Mila: you’re osm. i agree with EVERYTHING in your comment :)

  84. 84 Tiffany January 5, 2008 at 10:13 am

Thank goodness. I never thought there will be an article posted here that will make me happy with the update in a good way (as in not bashing about the stars I don’t like).

    Changmin all the way <3

    TVXQ, Hwaiting! (as always =))

  85. 85 Annie January 5, 2008 at 10:19 am

Finally a celebrity that’s not taking community service as an opportunity for fame. Good for him. :D

  86. 86 keiko04 January 5, 2008 at 10:24 am

@chiaye: There weren’t any pictures taken at all. The nearest thing to it is the Photoshopped pictures fans did, for whatever reason they have. xD

  87. 87 liz07 January 5, 2008 at 10:31 am

That’s really sweet of him. You really don’t see much celebs doing this kind of things.
I guess this why I love DBSK and espically Changmin!

  88. 88 jaesis January 5, 2008 at 10:40 am

this is so kind of him…. he has lot of heart of help too

    *..*

  91. 91 J. January 5, 2008 at 11:11 am

He’s an interesting kid and doesn’t seem to really feel comfortable in the media spotlight.

  92. 92 rocketfuel January 5, 2008 at 11:14 am

    Mila,

The point that keeps on escaping people is that these Korean celebrities are approached by these organizations to BE SEEN in order to bring awareness to that cause. They are living billboards…it’s like that one college student who sold her forehead for advertising space in order to get a new laptop.

They are suppose to be seen because those who are using them want them to be seen. If Hyori went to Africa in secret, would people question what’s the problem out there? No, they wouldn’t even care to make fun of her for it because no one would know.

If Korean society was already socially conscious, Korea wouldn’t need the Korean celebrity world as a spokes hub to inspire the people’s good conscious. The problems is, Korean society in general, don’t really care about issues unless it effects them or Jang Dong Gun shows them a naked baby in his hands. Whether or not someone’s intentions are masked in false empathy is hardly worth exploring because the focus should be what they are supporting.

People help out in different ways, and as shown by Min…you don’t need money in order to help out. You just help out, right Blahblahbon? ;)

Haha why do I see the recurring theme. People need to say that they hate DBSK to make themselves feel above others. It’s the usual oh I hate that pretty face boys band because they’re so umm.. pretty and popular and that proves I am more than skin deep. Yah… really. Ah… being beautiful and too popular can be a sin.

DBSK have been more than pretty faces. This is not news.

The point that’s being missed here is that there are people who do things out of the goodness of their OWN hearts. Are you saying that people have to be asked to do something for a good cause? That’s bs.

Everyone who has a negative to say is trying to make this about some big global cause. IT’S NOT. It’s about the individual. Changmin choose to volunteer because he wanted too for whatever reason. He didn’t have to go out and make a shallow whore of himself for the “so called cause”. Everyone knows about the oil spill. It’s up to individuals to go volunteer out of the goodness of their heart be them famous or not.

Lots have Koreans have helped with the oil spill because they wanted to. They didn’t need some celeb telling them to go and help out. They decided as decent human beings to do a good thing.

That’s a bs excuse for Hyori’s trip to Africa. There is no one with 2 ears & eyes who doesn’t know that there have been numerous problems going on in Africa for centuries. There seems to be this false idea that celebrities are incapable of doing anything normal or anything out of their own free will. It’s not always about your status. Before being approached the question is did they care?

This is not solely about Korea. There are lots of societies that turn the other cheek to things that don’t effect them.
In all of these societies there are people who don’t look away and help fight for cause because they choose to. The society excuse doesn’t fly. People are individual at the end of the day in every country. They have to the choice to help as adults and what she wished to do good. Her actions would have spoken louder than words.

Lord knows what the he!! happened to that post. lol

  107. 107 rocketfuel January 5, 2008 at 2:16 pm

    Mila,

And how does anyone know what’s in a person’s heart? People makes assumptions based on what they think but no one has any clue because it’s impossible to judge people you don’t even know. Besides, there’s a lot things celebrities do we all don’t know about, but just because you don’t see them out there doing positive things doesn’t mean they aren’t doing anything at all.

As for min, yeah…he’s a good guy for what he’s doing, but that’s a different story. He’s not being a spokesman for a cause, he’s just going out there to help.

There’s a big difference between the two.

People must recognize what it means to be a spokesman since causes needs a person who can speak for it since they can’t speak for themselves. Sadly, a celebrity will bring more attention than a 50 year old professor who has the respect from his peers, but no one else since they have no clue who he is.

And it’s not a bs excuse, it is what it is. Remember, there are younger generations in Korea who doesn’t know what’s going on in Africa and there will always be a generation who needs to learn that new “something.” Hyori, for example, is the biggest name brand in Korea and she draws attention to something greater than herself…and there will always be people who aren’t aware of Africa’s problem.

She’s basically like Tiger Woods telling people “don’t do drugs.”

Do you understand my point? I’m not talking about ones character, I’m talking about how the message is greater than the messenger.

Lastly, there are a lot of societies that turn the other cheek, but there are certain societies we care more about….so it’s not about compare and contrasting two societies. It’s about caring about that one we know and it’s problems because the people in it deserves better.

p.s. thanks for debating with me Mila. :)

  108. 108 Misty January 5, 2008 at 2:21 pm

    Firstly, wow, he’s gorgeous. *o*

Secondly, even though some celebrities are revealing their good deeds to the media, at least they’re still doing something good. Is it better to do something good for the purpose of being seen in a good light, or should one do nothing if their intentions aren’t moral? And it’s a good point that Korean Ajusshi and rocketfuel make about advertising a cause and getting people interested in helping through example.

Mila, it seems to me that you’re being a little closed-minded about the opposing view. People SHOULD do good things out of the kindness of their hearts, but that is not reality. Some causes do benefit from celebrity endorsement.

    @ chiaye

    I liked his hair when he had it out, but the ponytails w/ the cornrows, that wasn’t doing our boy any justice ^^ and it was just getting longer and longer (in those braids x_x)… I’m glad he did something to it ^^;;

    @Arie
my fav is yunho (w/ junsu following behind), but minnie has always been very sweet. I think w/ a little more time as he continues to develop his own style, what he’ll bring will be quite interesting, both to the group, and to himself

    Jackie,

It’s suprising to hear you call Junsu ‘flake’. If you’d knew him more, you’d know that he’s the purest one of out all the members. You cant even state what’s so ‘flake’ about Junsu. You’re just hating for no reason.

    jackie : i’m a HUGE fan of junsu. :p

  117. 117 AC January 5, 2008 at 4:19 pm

i agree with almost everyone here. Changmin really is looking hot these days. But, as much as most of his fans hate the long hair and the cornrows, i would have to say that i really, really think it suits him well. both hairstyles added maturity in him and made him even more manlier than he’s already starting to become.

i have to commend him for this inspiring deed. at least someone knows how to spend his vacation.:)

many great actors think like that before.
dont tell the media that they gave money and so on but later they would just realize that its better to publicize it bec their fans would do the same thing…
well i guess he isnt confident that he have that many and (rich) fans…

  127. 127 Mila January 5, 2008 at 8:16 pm

    rocketfuel-

I think it’s perfectly fair to judge someone based on their actions when they receive no recognition. Like you said, there are lots of people who do things without a camera crew following them. With a photographer. I and everyone else has the right to judge someone who only fights for a cause when the media is watching.

Like I said before. Problems in Africa DON’T NEED A SPOKESPERSON. There is no way that for years on end people have thought the African people have been swimming in roses. If you didn’t know this then you most likely live in a hole.

I think people are missing the point that I’m trying to make. I have no problem with believing in a cause and speaking for it to raise awareness. I do have a problem with those who are only interested in a cause when the cameras are rolling. Was Hyori ever interested in Africa before? Is she still interested? Does she plan on visiting again by herself.

I’m clearly talking about the individual like I’ve said a million times. People like to talk about Angelina Jolie using her celebrity to bring attention to world problems. The difference is with Jolie is that she continues to dedicated her time, her face, her money to help something she believes in when people pay attention or not. She as an individual first and for most choose to fight for a good cause by herself as a decent human being. She didn’t need to be given a reason to help. She then became a spokeswoman because she believed so much in what she was fight for. Shes done far more stuff when the camera isn’t watching as when it is. And like the point I’ve been trying to make; this judges HER character.

Were both focusing on 2 aspects of a good thing - a message & an individual. I think that delivering a good message starts & ends with a person who believes in it.
The message follows the passion of the individual.

lol. No problem with debating. I find it refreshing on PopSeoul. Thanks for countering in an intelligent manner.
Now I have to go and say something shallow about Hyun Young & Kim Jong Min relationship. lol

  128. 128 Mila January 5, 2008 at 8:20 pm

    Misty-

You made two negatives in your question so I’ll ignore that.

Yes, I believe that people do good things because they want to. IT HAPPENS IN REALITY! There are millions of people helping with worldly causes everyday out of the goodness of their hearts.

I find it sad that people believe that theres no good in most human beings anymore. Sorry, but i find that to be close minded view on a warped sense of reality.

  135. 135 Blahblahbon January 5, 2008 at 10:28 pm

Rocketfuel, you continue missing the point.
I am aware that you don’t need money to help out even a little, “derr” as i believe you would say. With YEH i was pointing out that CELEBRITIES who wear shirts such as hers, should stop pretending they’re making a difference by wearing a stupid shirt instead of doing something, and getting surgery doesn’t count as saving the world, if she really cared though, she could even put some of her money to good use…Get it?
    I’ll put it in caveman for you;
SHIRT no help world, surgery no help world, YEH pretend help world, if YEH want help world, YEH stop posing for pictures and stop surgery, go help changmin.
Your incompetence never fails to amaze me.

  136. 136 sugarbunny January 5, 2008 at 10:47 pm

D: Why is Junsu being ‘un-liked’? D: Show him some love! He sings perfect in live and dances well and …. he’s so cuuuutee! Ok whatever. Changmin is <3!

P/S: Pssst, not just a pretty face, a pretty hairstyle too. :) Uh, I mean, -handsome-. :D

  137. 137 rocketfuel January 6, 2008 at 1:00 am

    blahblahbon,

Caveman talk suits you, but sorry, I don’t speak stupid. Me no understand. ;)

In case you haven’t figure out what my biggest knock on you is, you’re all talk and no show. As people would say, you’re a hypocrite who puts the fate of the world on someone else’s shoulders and yet you sit content making excuses as to why you can’t do anything. MONEY being one of them.

;) It’s not rocket science. It’s not a matter of YEH and her T-Shirt. It’s the type of person you come off as…and I’m just holding responsible for the stupidity that comes out of your tiny fingers.

    - Mila,

You may judge when camera’s are rolling but you still ignore that it’s suppose to be that way.

Let me ask you something, does everyone know what problems the world has? Does everyone know everything? Is there not a difference between knowing about something and actually experiencing it? Doesn’t it usually take for someone to tell you about it before you can act?

What makes you think Hyori wasn’t approached the same way? Maybe someone talked her about it before she fully understand what’s really going on.

For example, I know about Africa’s problems, the lack of educational tools, medicine, and anarchy, but I didn’t know enough. What I wasn’t aware of is…

    http://www.unitedhumanrights.org/sudan_genocide_genocide_in_sudan.php

And do you know where I learned about it? On radio sports show through Tracy Mcgrady, a Houston Rockets NBA superstar.
He went there to fully understand the problems, live the life of a villager, and came back using the media to share his story. That’s no different from what Hyori has done and I don’t think he’s doing for it publicity. He’s using his star status to bring more awareness to the problems in Africa that isn’t just about “children are starving in africa, so eat your rice.”

And because of that, I’ve donated computers and digital cameras through a medical student I’ve met through a Korean American community program.

Africa will always need a spokesman because there are way too many problems and not enough resources to educate those who know very little about what’s really going on there, and genocide is one of them. People may claim to know what’s going on in Africa, but unless you’re there…you really have no clue. So in that sense, Hyori, has more credibility when it comes to Africa because she actually went there to experience it.

Personally, all I care about is that people try to do the right rather than nothing at all. I don’t like the idea that people do nothing at all and yet point fingers at others for not doing enough.

As for “the individual,” everyone has the ability to do a good thing…and I’m sure everyone wants to. Don’t you think Korean celebrities are happy to help those in need?

    Doesn’t that say something?

  138. 138 Arie January 6, 2008 at 1:13 am

Wow o-o; so many comments x.x
Anyway, since I already commented on Minnie..

  141. 141 Blahblahbon January 6, 2008 at 2:10 am

    BAHAHA…Oh rocketfuel.
You too are a hypocrite, no? We can sit here fighting all day and in the end i’ll still think you’re the dumbass and you’ll think the same about me. Though you can say that I’m sitting here doing nothing and leaving it all to someone else, you don’t know what i do in my spare time, so assuming would be quite ridiculous. In the case of YEH, it seems as though i just contradicted myself but…i didn’t :3
See these people always have someone watching, there’s always some sort of proof, they’re being watched 24/7 (Changmin for example, tried not to make it public, but there’s always someone there) and check it out, just a picture, she’s not actually doing anything. I’M not trying to make it come off as though i am helping the world though, so i have the right to make the comments i do, otherwise, yes it would make me a hypocrite if i did the same thing she’s doing.

Holding me responsible for the stupidity that comes out of my tiny fingers…Hahaha, you’re too amusing. Do you not realize that you and I are doing the exact same thing? I’m sure lots of people find the things i say stupid and the things you say stupid as well, that’s why they’re called OPINIONS, love. We’re all entitled to our own. You want to continue debating about this celebrity crap with me, fine, i’ll play, i like to debate, but if you want to argue about “the way i come off” then find another candidate, i couldn’t care less how you feel about the way i come off, this isn’t about you or me, we’re talking about the articles we’re reading. So either stick to the topic or go criticize someone who actually cares, because, quite frankly, you don’t offend me Rocketfuel, witty comments on a computer screen have no effect on me ^_______^

  142. 142 rocketfuel January 6, 2008 at 2:23 am
