Rain continues to be the laughing stock

Rain_20081112_popseoul

I was proud of Pinky when he announced that he’ll not sing for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, but it turns out that he wasn’t even asked by the Beijing Olympics Committee. Rain might have been asked by one of the agencies preparing for other minor songs for the Olympics, but even that can’t be confirmed.

But the fact that Rain announced that he’ll not sing, when he was not even asked shows you what kind of person he is. So the 2007 POPSEOUL!’s Fool continues to be the laughing stock in 2008. Anybody surprised?

this is so absurd. I don’t know which one is true..

  2. 2 Cutie January 14, 2008 at 2:58 am

[Maybe] he heard that some people wanted to make him sing for the Olympics, but just wanted to announce to all those fans who were expecting him to sing that he was not going to sing.

“i thought his concert in the US was a success as i heard from a friend.”

Apparently you you did not read about the North America World Tour fiasco. Concerts were cancelled in Toronto, LA, Honolulu, etc. Some people still haven’t received their money back from the local promoters.

  5. 5 uhh January 14, 2008 at 8:00 am

ever thought that at some news conference, people asked him if he was going to sing for the Olympic and his answer is simply he will not because he didn’t get asked? Way to jump to conclusion Popnosoul

  6. 6 blinkable January 14, 2008 at 11:44 am

Ok skipped all the comments..hey 105 and you wana me to read all??

Anyway, this sounds weird already. Not being asked in the first place?? Poor fella….

  7. 7 cattleya January 14, 2008 at 12:24 pm

    Cyan,

why did they cancel his concerts in North America? what happened along the way?

  8. 8 Cyan January 14, 2008 at 1:09 pm

@cattleya: Well there’s a lack of promotion of the concert in Toronto , so they cancelled the concert (though the press says it’s due to firework safety issues )
In Honolulu, it was cancelled b/c of some legal issue about the use of his name, “Rain.” Another band in the U.S. sued him because copyright issues or w/e, but the judge threw out the case since the prosecutors didn’t have any evidence. Some timing, huh?

In L.A., the concert was canceled an hour before the concert started due to safety reasons (there was a game that used the same stadium the day before, so it had to deal with set up), of course Rain was uninformed until the last minute.

People have been blaming Rain, Star M (who sponsered the world tour), and the local promoters. It has been all over the news, which gives Rain a HUGE negative impression on his reputation. Some people have flown from Eastern Hemisphere to see Rain perform in the States wasting thousands of dollars (tickets, airfare, etc.) to find out the concert(s) have been canceled. And some of those fans have gotten back their money they wasted on Rain.

so for RAIN, good or bad
write-up it still helps boost his fame

so .. you REALLY think that bad publicity is as good as good publicity? i think not. there IS a difference between, say … will smith and britney spears. it’s one thing to be popular for positive images, and quite another for being a laughing stock and a fool.

I’ve seen Speed Racer trailer on Channel V (the Tickets). And it does promote serious films or entertainment. So I guess the movie will be released this year.

drizzle was in la for 2 weeks prior to the concert and he didn’t know there was a basketball game at the staples center the night before? i find that hard to believe.

i think i speak for many people when i say:

    popseoul sucks

  18. 18 d January 14, 2008 at 6:35 pm

    popseoul hates rain, basically.

look at the title of this article!!

perhaps they should do some balanced reporting.

i wonder if the people who write these articles are korean. they seem to love bashing their own celebrities.

heck? i merely see this as Rain trying to squash false rumours created by some. did he make any statement regarding this before?

  21. 21 nadaa January 15, 2008 at 1:34 am

INFO: RAIN HAVE A 1 YEAR CONTRACT WITH SAMSUNG ANYCALL AND SING AN OLYMPIC THEME SONG FOR ANYCALL…
SO, PEOPLE GOT MISLEAD ABOUT THIS RUMORS, MEDIA JUST JUMP A CONCLUSION AND SO DO POPSEOUL…
IF RAIN WILL SING IN ANYCALL.. WHERE IS ANYBAND??? hahahha..

  22. 22 phiphi January 15, 2008 at 1:47 am

Didn’t it was clarified that a Chinese agency asked him to record a “candidate song” that will be submitted for consideration by the Olympic committee.

Not sure why Rain was always pulled in to all these confusing/false rumors.

If Rain is so bad, Samsung would not sign him up for a 1 year endorsement at 2008 Beijing Olympics. Popseoul, give the man some credit!!!!!

  23. 23 shk4ever January 15, 2008 at 2:37 am

actually, it’s not rain who looks dumb. it’s popseoul who looks dumb for reporting something that didn’t actually happen.

but it looks like china may force rain to come before the olympics

    @soju
of course it doesn’t matter the news is true or
not for you , anyway you cannot find the fact because your eyes was covered and cannot see anything .

  25. 25 soju January 15, 2008 at 6:32 am

i wouldn’t talk if i were you, tony. you clouds are the ones who are blind to anything even remotely negative that drizzle does. but like i said, there will come a day when you won’t be able to look the other way anymore. it’ll come. wait and see.

  26. 26 aquarious January 15, 2008 at 9:32 am

Well, haters will always find a way to hate… no matter what Rain does.
That’s who they are. Haters! *shrug*

  27. 27 soju January 15, 2008 at 10:05 am

better than being a blind sheep. *shrug*

  28. 28 sunshine` January 15, 2008 at 2:45 pm

all these rumours have just been rumours.
jtunes specifically cleared up the rumours when they said rain was only asked to record a candidate song.

it’s not his fault, and definately not a lack of intelligence on his part that things seemed to have gotten out of hand. misinformation really does go aroudn on the interent so quickly..

  29. 29 aquarious January 15, 2008 at 5:34 pm

At least blind fans are more resonable to do so than blind haters… *shrug*

@ sunshine…. yah, it’s true, really unfair for rain being a laughing stock. I’m an avid fan of rain and it makes me feel bad hearing rumors like this.

  32. 32 sid vicious January 16, 2008 at 1:00 am

He probably had to say he won’t sing it because of the suckers who actually started the rumors and believed in them…like celebrity blogs.

  33. 33 lmsandra January 16, 2008 at 3:17 am

This is so vicious, please be more fair. I like to come to your blog to see the pictures but these vicious comments don’t do you credit.

    @OldSchooling

J.Tune.. he has established his own comapny..

  37. 37 han January 17, 2008 at 4:47 pm

gosh leave that guy alone he made it clear he will not sing whatsoever

  38. 38 Nadia January 18, 2008 at 10:06 pm

he probably said that he wasn’t going to sing because he wasn’t invited to sing in the first place. People are just probably misunderstanding him. its not like he said he was going to sing and then turned around and changed his mind and decided not to sing. maybe he knew he wasn’t going to be invited. or mayybe he was the one who turned then down. we don’t know the whole story.

  39. 39 gold January 21, 2008 at 12:59 am

ah anyway, profesionals people know better
he wont be as big as he is today without the help of bad rumors
and he always survived this kind of stuff again and again
    he keeps Standing Tall

  45. 45 me February 10, 2008 at 2:37 am

don’t be so jealous people. wherever anyone (including rain) is right now, i’m sure it’s the result of hard work. let’s just respect him enough by not attacking him like this. if you don’t know him personally then you don’t have the right to throw such accusations. celebrity or no celebrity.

  46. 46 Vamp Charisma February 19, 2008 at 12:01 pm

IMHO, Rain doesn’t deserve to sing at the Olympics. No offense, you “Bi” fans, but seriously, it’s China’s turf. Why would a Korean singer perform? It makes absolutely no sense. I don’t care if he sang for Pantech in Chinese, his Chinese is atrocious, and his English is horrible. Bi’s too stuck up and thinks too highly of himself. It’s time he fell back down to earth.

Hahahaha…Popseoul, You have made the biggest blunder by citing wrong information!
Now that the Olympic is over, you must be embarrassed and hoping no one re-reads this page! Ha!

Q: So who is the REAL laughing stock here?!
    Ans: Popseoul the PJs!

In this, Rain has the last laugh!!!! Hahahaha…Morons!
