2007 Miss Korea Oceania Kim Eun Young thinks she’s the queen, but the male contestants on Jo Jung Rin’s Blind Date think she’s a psycho. The male contestants were able to swallow her weather inappropriate skimpy Andre Kim dress and disappointing looks, but they lost their patience when she demanded the five male suitors to strip down and strut in briefs later in the show.
One contestant decided Miss Korea wasn’t worth it and left the competition, another contestant responded by calling Miss Korea a “pervert,” demanding that she “act with some class.” Ultimately, even the suitor that Miss Korea was stuck with chose, rejected her.
Either the Swarovski crystals in Kim Eun Young’s crown is getting to her brain or she is spending too much time inhaling the black spray paint on Andre’s head. This behavior is not only disgraceful to the country, it just screams psycho. Hopefully the pageant queen will regain her composure in time to serve out the rest of her title.

True, they are running out of pretty people. Though the girls behind her are far prettier, but they are UNSEXY. They are just ordinary looking girls. Can’t Miss Korea Administration provide some sexy beauty queens? The contestants of our country’s beauty pageants (Binibining Pilipinas and Miss Earth Philippines) are way prettier, sexier and even more intelligent than the contestants of Miss Korea… and at the same time they act classier.
I don’t want to compare the contestants of Philippines and Korea, but with that kind of behavior, the body, the grace and classiness, it’s a no doubt why Korea has been having a hard time winning Miss Universe, Miss World or even Miss International titles. Come to think of it, our country is not as plastic-surgery infested as Korea but we are able to have champions for world-wide beauty. Precious Lara Quigaman (2005 Miss International) is one example of beauty, talent, wits, intelligence and grace. For bashing on recent Miss Korea titlists, I’ll exclude Honey Lee regarding boo-boos. My impression on her is she is beautiful but I thought she should’ve added more hips if she has undergone surgery. She can express herself in English but her intonation and accent is almost not understandable (Can Honey neutralize that?). Moreover, she is a child prodigy, and I admire women who has an eye for art and can play musical instruments particularly traditional ones. I’ve never though she can be as exceptionally talented as legendary kisaengs in the past.
Honey’s successor, on the other hand, is uninteresting. Why?
She’s a blah, and not attractive. She looks older than her age—-to think she went under the knife, huh!

(Kim Eun Young)…she lacks one. Her teeth is darn yellowish and ostensibly look untidy. Does she brush her teeth more often? Does she consult her dentist for dental check-ups? Does she visit some spas for some bodyscrubs and facials? and lastly, does she take a bath more often?
I think my answer is not.
She looks dirty. She didn’t even visited some gyms for tummy workouts. She is ostensibly bloated, and yet she has the nerve to wear those skimpy swimsuits? Yuck! It’s okay if she is like that AS LONG AS SHE DOESN’T HAVE DISTURBING BEHAVIOR.
Turning your blind dates into your “sex slave” is really insipid—especially if you are beauty titlist. If you happened to be living in the Philippines, you’ll surely be dethroned right away! Not only that, you will be the target of nitpicks by some self-righteous showbiz writers too. How shameful can you get, right?

I have to agree with the minority here. At first I just thought she was a weirdo and a pervert, but if you really reverse the situation, it wouldn’t be AS weird or uncommon. Maybe she is intelligent and was trying to point out what so many men expect her to do. It is pretty how in most beauty pageants, the contestants are either plain or not pretty at all. When it comes to contests like those, I actually expect to see people who are unique and does not have a girl next door face. I am not particularly pretty myself, but seeing contestants make me laugh. Like my mother said, it is not all about their face and their body. But it also depends on how far they will go to reveal their body and whatnot in order to get votes. Anyway, the girl is just going to destroy the title she “earned”. Unless she does something incredible, I don’t think this issue will be dropped anytime soon. Hopefully that will teach her a lesson for being so full of herself.

You are indeed right in saying that the judges in Korea that pick these titles really overlooked the “beauty” part when choosing.
However, the reason Korean women get plastic surgery done is too look more “Western.” If you didn’t know, Philippines was once ruled by Spaniards, meaning most of the people in that country is still considered part European. Thus, they tend to have wider (rounder) eyes and slimmer nose.
The reason I mention that is because judges of Miss Universe or any of the other big titles tend to pick girls with more exotic and “European” looks. Miss Universe 2007, Riyo Mori, is a very rare case where judges looked favorably to a woman without any European looks at all. Even Miss World 2007, Zhang Zhi Li, has a Western look to her with round eyes and a slim nose.
Many people, including you I may say, seem to judge women on their face. So even if Miss Korea or Oceania, or whatever title she holds, had a great personality I’m probably sure that you’d still berate her and go on and on about how great Miss Philippines is.
The same goes for the English thing. English is not a major language in the everyday Korean society. You and I both know that in the Philippines, English is just as big as speaking Tagalog.
So you need to take a chill pill and back off when it comes to talking nasty about women of another society. It just makes you sound unintelligent and barbaric. : )
