Kim Seong-su says gf is like family

20080114kimss.jpg

Of course she is! Actor Kim Seong-su has no intention of buying the cow when he can get the milk for free. The 11 years of dating only confirms this. What is more interesting is that the girlfriend has stuck around for so long. She should know by now that there will no be ring in sight.

The handsome actor confessed on the KBS show, Sang-sang Plus that his woman is like family. He added that they try to keep the spark alive by finding out new things about each other.

After 11 years together, what new things do they need to know about each other?

Make an honest woman out of her, man! Marry her, already!

  2. 2 resabambino January 15, 2008 at 3:57 am

Dang, Just marry her or let her go. But it is good they have that spark. I think?

  3. 3 bunta January 15, 2008 at 4:00 am

Marriage isn’t for everyone. Many people live do not see the need to get married and still live happy lives. Whatever works I guess.

  4. 4 Jackie January 15, 2008 at 4:46 am

wow he aged really fast lol

  5. 5 Miun January 15, 2008 at 4:53 am

    What a jerk!!!!

  6. 6 sweetlee8 January 15, 2008 at 5:03 am

I agree with bunta. Marriage as an institution is losing its value in modern society. Don’t half of all marriages end in divorce now? I commend them for staying together so long and still seem to be happy!

  7. 7 Brina January 15, 2008 at 5:19 am

Thats a long time. If she’s like family, then he must enjoy sleeping with family.

  8. 8 okeydoke January 15, 2008 at 5:31 am

    from what i see it,
it can mean a bad and good thing
bad: he doesn’t have any other feelings for her other than like a sister
good: he’s trying to say they’re close?

    hm.. i dont know.

  9. 9 Di January 15, 2008 at 6:00 am

Maybe they don’t believe in the institution of marriage?
But I highly doubt that considering Koreans are generally conservative when it comes to that subject.
Maybe he’ll knock her up one day then they’ll get hitched? >.>

  10. 10 Nina January 15, 2008 at 6:16 am

@sweetlee8 : what a whore!!! Your parent must divorce when you were a child, hah?

No way, this is so unbelievable!

  12. 12 ayu-rin January 15, 2008 at 6:17 am

Poor girl, if not for the love she should have made him marry her for the money! just joking ;P

I’m a romantic girl and one day I would like to marry, I thought it was every girl’s opinion. Guess not. ó.ò

  13. 13 soju January 15, 2008 at 6:18 am

if it works for them, then it’s a good thing. hard to imagine that she wouldn’t want to get married after being together for so long … but it’s her life.

  14. 14 Grace January 15, 2008 at 6:33 am

    Who’s the girlfriend?

  15. 15 babycakes January 15, 2008 at 6:53 am

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA: “no intention of buying the cow when he can get the milk for free”

    kinda makes sense though!

  16. 16 Jennifer January 15, 2008 at 7:00 am

^^…. Yeah, I wonder who she is too. 11 years!!

~*~*For me after 11 years I know I would like to get married so that if anything I would be able to celebrate my relationship with our family and friends together.*~*~

  17. 17 DUMBO January 15, 2008 at 7:15 am

To all the sisters out there: Don’t be dumb and think that marriage is just a piece of paper. 11 years don’t mean crap if you don’t have that paper. If your man got into a car accident and was in a coma and his family didn’t want you near him, they have the right cuz you ain’t married to him.

  18. 18 tenretni January 15, 2008 at 7:30 am

since he doesn’t seem to wanna marry her, maybe his parents should adopt her to make the whole family thing official… gah, you cannot make someone wait for 11 freaking years… thats just a cruel and unnusual punishment…

p.s: hmmm, gimme a call when the adoption is finalized… you are going to need a new girlfriend… right?? :P

  19. 19 ed January 15, 2008 at 7:44 am

they’re just supporting legalization of gay marriage by forfeiting their rights until everyone’s equal. good for them!

  20. 20 shinjinny January 15, 2008 at 7:49 am

@Nina: There’s really no reason to call someone a whore just because they have different ideas of marriage and what that union constitutes.

You’re right, some people may not believe in marriage and honestly in this day and age, when 1 out of every 2 couple divorces…are they that off the mark?

Watch your words, please. What you said was offensive.

  21. 21 Stephaine January 15, 2008 at 7:52 am

why 11 years and no ring or promise, i wont have stayed that long.lol

  22. 22 hellaakon January 15, 2008 at 8:11 am

OH this guy! Somehow he’s aged way more than I would imagine!

    Anyhow…11 years. Gosh damn… o_O

  23. 23 bunta January 15, 2008 at 8:51 am

Seriously Nina; what is wrong with you? Why are you so mad? Your parents must not be divorced right? They must still be married and very content right? Why is their daughter so malicious.I’m pretty sure that is not how they raised you. Cursing and name calling makes you seem ignorant.

I do agree with most of you ladies though. If I was him I would marry her if that was what she wanted.

  24. 24 EG January 15, 2008 at 9:40 am

    WOW DATING 11 YEARS
thats crazy maybe she doesnt wanna get married too

  25. 25 sweetlee8 January 15, 2008 at 9:56 am

@Nina: I don’t think whether my parents got divorced or not really has any connection to what I said. Statistical data suggests it (not that statistics are always to be trusted…). It’s hysterical you called me a whore though… I don’t quite get why, but thanks for the laugh!

  26. 26 maltesers January 15, 2008 at 10:16 am

i feel sorry for the girl. does she love him that much?

  27. 27 DWILLIAMS January 15, 2008 at 10:32 am

    To Stephanie
Maybe he does not want to get married. I feel sometimes people fall in love with the wedding moreso than the marriage. Marriage takes commitments and right now he isn’t ready to commit and probably never will. It’s not like he is cheating on her with someone else.

  28. 28 szai January 15, 2008 at 11:16 am

i liked him during Full House Days…
things changed when i saw Sweet Sex and Love,
    eeeerrrrrrrrrr!!!

  29. 29 kagandahan January 15, 2008 at 11:17 am

11 years of dating? just like kurt and goldie? dating each other for ages but still claims they are happy and contented… i guess that’s just fine… but then again, it wouldn’t be if ever they separate and then immediately married anyone within the span of few months after the break up! ouch!!!!

  30. 30 marmar January 15, 2008 at 11:26 am

damn his in a relationship he is like one of finest korean guys..but shoot if I was the girl and I been in a long relationship like that and I wasn’t getting married I would have left or told him something.
but maybe they both don’t want marriage. If they both don’t then I see nothing wrong with them but if it’s just him & she wants to get married now then they need to have a talk.

  31. 31 Lana January 15, 2008 at 11:32 am

She must be okay if she’s staying with him. If she likes it, why would I get upset? I don’t know either one of them!

I DO know that he’s one fine Korean!

  32. 32 Spamstereeno January 15, 2008 at 11:40 am

he’s doing that so that he can cheat on her with less guilt

  33. 33 Dumpling January 15, 2008 at 11:47 am

    11 years??? OMG.

I guess after that long the girl probably doesn’t even care anymore.

  34. 34 Dumpling January 15, 2008 at 11:47 am

    His lips are weird.

  35. 35 ~Random January 15, 2008 at 12:17 pm

popseoul your layouts messing up, on the homepage the side links start at the bottom of the last post, though on the comment pages it’s fine. I’m using IE…

Thought I’d let you know. Later.

  36. 36 whatever~ January 15, 2008 at 1:00 pm

    11 years o_O…get married already.

  37. 37 blinkable January 15, 2008 at 1:13 pm

whoa! Maybe the gf sticks around cause at least she can say she has been with kimseoungsu for more than 11 yrs?? O_o

  38. 38 cherry_o January 15, 2008 at 1:44 pm

sometimes marraige is not a good thing. i would think marraige has more commitment and pressure to keep up the relationship…which may cause negative changes in relationships. maybe they like the feeling for dating…like meeting each other for the first time everyday and have that spark*

  39. 39 sTEFFANIE GARGANTOS January 15, 2008 at 3:06 pm

oh wow! look on the bright side
they are not one of those people who take marriage
like it is something you can just hve done and undoNE!!!

    :)

  40. 40 aura January 15, 2008 at 3:37 pm

sometimes its better that way.if they’re happy leave them alone marriage is just a piece of paper theres no security. when it does’nt work they end up divorce.

  41. 41 Faa January 15, 2008 at 3:49 pm

    Good for them.

  42. 42 Mira January 15, 2008 at 6:05 pm

then don’t they ever have kids. What an asshole to treat a girl like that. 11 years and still no promise for a ring on her finger? What the hell. It’s not like 5,6,7 years, it’s 11 years!!!! If i am that girl, i’ll go find another love. Women won’t last long, you know, and one day he will kick your ass just cuz you look too ugly a.k.a old to bare.

  43. 43 xoxo January 15, 2008 at 6:42 pm

yeah, i agree.. if they are happy with not getting married that’s okay.. they can get married if they are both ready..

  44. 44 mist January 15, 2008 at 8:31 pm

get marry lol..show ur sincerity toward the one u love..
it is not surprising how’s everyone is opposing thing like this..gotta remember that this is asia..we still value the wedding..and it is a good sign anyway..

  45. 45 miraigal January 15, 2008 at 10:22 pm

I have to say what I learnt from Dal Ja’s Spring. “Marriage is an outcome, not a target.” If both of them are comfortable with this relationship, they shouldn’t be bothered with the institution of marriage.

  46. 46 Poodle January 15, 2008 at 10:37 pm

Holy hell… this guy won’t marry you for 11 years, WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU WAITING FOR???!

RUN, WOMAN, RUN!!!!! And I mean RUN to the opposite direction!

  47. 47 Candice January 15, 2008 at 10:53 pm

Maybe the problem is the woman. Maybe she’s like the stalkers in the Korean dramas who keep hanging around thinking something will happen, pushing other women away, when the man just isn’t interested in them.

Kim Seong-su might be a victim. Perhaps by saying that’s she like family in public he was trying to make it clear to her?

But then family also includes spouses so perhaps he meant it’s as if they are already married.

Well whichever way it is I hope everyone involved is leading a happy life.

  48. 48 for real January 16, 2008 at 12:53 am

wow 11years is definitely long enough to make him feel like they family already. I heard couples that date this long eventually don’t get married in the end, most likely because they get bored with each other. It’s the same thing with marriages except kids tie the knight, but they don’t have that so i can imagine how dull their relationship must be without any lust or passion. He’s probably still with her because like Popseoul said, why buy the cow when he gets free milk. poor girl, she’ll probably just become weary with age and if she’s lucky a nice guy might take her and her history with him.

  49. 49 Cindel January 16, 2008 at 1:49 am

Here’s what some of you are missing… when a guy says he doens’t want to get marry; he means he doesn’t want to marry HER.

Granted Marriage is just a piece of paper; will their relationship changed if they decided to get marry? Probably not, so what exactly is he waiting for?

  50. 50 spin January 16, 2008 at 2:36 am

    like family?

    okaaay.

gee. Its not like by marrying her he’ll be crushing his fanbase (like my mom, lol) or anything.

He sounds like such a player.

  51. 51 spin January 16, 2008 at 2:37 am

& I wonder if he released that so ppl wouldn’t think he was gay.

    *rolls eyes*

  52. 52 sam January 16, 2008 at 5:36 am

unless she also doesn’t HAVE TO get MARRIED, then he’s ok.

But guessing by traditional korean standards, that marriage is the blessing of ALL TIME, he better do something soon, or the girl, after this public announcement, better leave.

  53. 53 Lilo January 16, 2008 at 8:16 am

dang yo!! he must have commitment issues

  54. 54 loderunner January 16, 2008 at 2:31 pm

isn’t it a lose-lose situation for the poor girl as he gonna take it while it last!

    This guy a CRAP!

  55. 55 CuTiEjOy January 16, 2008 at 2:45 pm

if he still doesn’t consider marriage after 11 long years, then it ain’t gonna happen. i think 3 yrs is enough to figure out if u wanna marry the person or not.

Cindel has a point, maybe he thinks his gf is not exactly the one he’d like to marry. either that or he’s got issues.

  56. 56 gossip girl January 16, 2008 at 5:00 pm

omg. come on. come on man, take responsibility. 11 years? that girl must love him a whole lot or something…

  57. 57 sarah March 4, 2008 at 3:11 am

    don’t marry her, have me!!!
