Fly to the Sky, not China

flytothesky_20080115_popseoul.jpg

Fly to the Sky, returns from China picking up a few allegations along the way. Brian and Hwan Hee, who were recently in Beijing to take part in an awards ceremony, were accused of inflicting injury to a fan as the two made their way through the airport.

To add insult to injury, there are rumors circulating that the “divos” demanded their own room backstage at the awards ceremony, away from the other celebrities present at the event. It’s apparent that these boys really have flown to the sky with their balloon-size egos, either that or the Chinese entertainment industry is on a mission to take down our Hallyu stars and replace them with their own clones. Either way, we are enjoying the ride.

Hwanhee will star in new drama
Please dress appropriately for weddings
Say hi to Hwanhee’s new nose, eyes and girl

This story is probably true..they are extreme divos. A Guy I know me them when his father booked them for a show here in NY. They gave his father a lot of demands. They really seem to think they are royalty. I am not trying to be mean but geeze, they are great singers and I like their music but it is not like they are Madonna or Beyonce..SHEESH Relax FTTS

  4. 4 okaylynnifer January 16, 2008 at 11:45 am

The Chinese press can be really brutal. They like to tear people down. You can’t believe what you hear.

  5. 5 mHeaven January 16, 2008 at 11:45 am

opps typo..”a guy i know met them.

  6. 6 ... January 16, 2008 at 11:54 am

People should believe those damn rumours. And I’m Chinese and if they are trying to diminish our Hallyu stars’ popularity that’s a shady way to do it -_-

  7. 7 Psh January 16, 2008 at 11:54 am

    The Chinese news came from Sohu’s website. The Chinese fans says it’s not true -_-;;

  8. 8 hiatus January 16, 2008 at 11:55 am

isn’t one of them going solo? then why are they still in a duo?

  9. 9 yeoreum January 16, 2008 at 11:57 am

sad to hear that coz i really like their music… anyway, i hope it’s not true… but if it is true, it doesnt hurt to apologize…

  10. 10 marmar January 16, 2008 at 12:04 pm

you know I kinda don’t doubt the news. We all know how Brian is & Hwanhee will I kinda think his like that too.
I still like them but I kinda think it’s true.

  11. 11 ohgeeze. January 16, 2008 at 12:10 pm

Well. There was that whole Chinese news thing about Dong Bang and their manager “yelling at them” for a random reason, when in reality he wasn’t even yelling. The reporters just used it to their advantage and there was a big buzz about it.

I don’t know FTTS well enough. I like Brian a lot, but Hwanhee not so much. He seems like a guy that would be like that though.

  12. 12 itsme January 16, 2008 at 12:27 pm

uh … did you guys know that that pic is OoOld?? Is this what you guys call finding novel pics?

  13. 13 Moku January 16, 2008 at 12:40 pm

These 2 clowns are coming to Oahu, Hi next month. They are putting on a concert. I was going to go but not now. Why should I waste my money on these clowns with big egos. First Rain and now FTTS.

  14. 14 Jackie January 16, 2008 at 12:41 pm

flown to the sky with their balloon sized egos LMFAO hahahaha I love it
I dont see what they got to be so snooty about
    their music is boring ZzzZzzzzZZzzZz

  15. 15 Gaby January 16, 2008 at 12:44 pm

It’s not the first time I hear about the Chinese press making things up.

  16. 16 EG January 16, 2008 at 12:48 pm

If its true jezuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz they’re not Usher or JT thats sad nobody knows about FTTS except several asian countries
Then again chinese press like to exaggerate things there was TVXQ incident when chinese press was talkin about how TVXQ manager were yelling at them
    Who knows ……………………….
I dont think FTTS is all that maybe they think they are he he he sad

  17. 17 Melissa January 16, 2008 at 12:59 pm

ouch…I wonder what happened to the fan.

  18. 18 jen January 16, 2008 at 1:00 pm

But they are so cute! (Sorry, just a reaction)

  19. 19 APRIL January 16, 2008 at 1:06 pm

I don’t want it to sound like a generalization but the Chinese Press that I hear sounds bias and very literal…fashioned to sound how ever they want it to sound.

I personally believe the last place a fan should be is at the airport. They shouldn’t be there at all. It’s a pain to the other travelers, airport security, drivers…everyone. If the fan got hurt that’s sad but it’s their own fault. You shouldn’t be there in the first place you run the risk of you getting hurt or your favorite star getting hurt. There is a time and a place to be a fan and it isn’t at the airport.

  20. 20 jinmi January 16, 2008 at 1:13 pm

THIS IS NOT TRUE TRUST ME BECAUSE BRIAN IS NOT LIKE THIS. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE HE IS MY COUSINS COUSIN AND HE IS A REALLY DOWN TO EARTH COOL GUY. DONT JUDGE PEOPLE FROM WHAT YOU HEAR FROM OTHERS LIKE THE MEDIA AND PRESS. UNLESS IT IS ON TAPE OR YOU HEAR IT DIRECTLY FROM THEIR MOUTHS DONT BELIEVE FALSE REPORTS

  21. 21 Shereen January 16, 2008 at 1:15 pm

I don’t really believe it. When i was still in my school days one of my teacher say Chinese Paper is gossip paper…so judge it yourself…

  22. 22 babycakes January 16, 2008 at 1:18 pm

marmar (and anyone else who might know): do they (or brian/hwanhee singularly) have a reputation for being snooty? any stories?

it always seemed to me that hwanhee was a little stuck up. idk why, but seeing him and the way he acted on all those variety programs made me think that. As for brian, he seemed like a nice guy (?). I don’t know him personally so I can’t make judgement but he always seems really gracious and religious. then again that could all just be an act. who knows.

  23. 23 Kai January 16, 2008 at 1:30 pm

Chinese press likes to make things up to take popular stars down. Can’t believe everything that comes out of this country.

  24. 24 hoiakoito January 16, 2008 at 1:33 pm

I AGREE. i don’t get why you guys are believing this so easily. remember the last incident? the chinese media totally exaggerated that dbsk’s manager yelled at them in front of the camera when the manageer wasn’t even yelling at them >_<

i have been a long time ftts fan. i have met them in person in ny cheoseok festival. they are super nice. got to speak to brian in person.

  25. 25 nx512 January 16, 2008 at 1:41 pm

lols i don’t believe that.. brian’s (supposedly) madd chill.

i defffff think that china’s trying to bring down korean stars.. especially since they got none ;)

  26. 26 for real January 16, 2008 at 1:42 pm

i just don’t like them period

  27. 27 Raihana January 16, 2008 at 1:52 pm

Find it hard to believe..a couple of my friends just met Brian and he’s such a cool and so down to earth dude..Chinese Press are crappy..

  28. 28 gypsymm7 January 16, 2008 at 2:40 pm

Well I read a lot of popseoul but I don’t write a lot on popseoul, however I have to give my opinion on this. I’ve personally met Brian before, and from my experience he’s one of the most pleasant celebes to meet. It’s really hard for me to imagine him like that. But again who knows what goes on in the entertainment world. As far and you and I know, we like what we see. Who cares what they demand for, wouldn’t you demand for stuff if you know you can get it??? (hahaha ~I Would)

  29. 29 jyyjc January 16, 2008 at 2:57 pm

doesn’t the chinese press exaggerate things?

i don’t know about hwanhee but i don’t believe brian is like that.

  30. 30 wow January 16, 2008 at 3:04 pm

@APRIL: what you said could offend a lot of people. different fan groups can have different views on what being a fan is like. in china, i believe its considered pathetic if a celeb walks out of the airport and no fans are there to greet him/her. while in korea, fan girls like to poison rivals of their fav stars.

  31. 31 hearmeroar January 16, 2008 at 3:07 pm

I don’t realllly believe this because:
    1. Chinese press… well, people have already pointed this out, so I won’t say more.
    2. Every other account I have ever heard of Brian is that he’s way nice, down-to-earth, etc. This is like the first bad thing I’ve heard about him. Hwanhee, I’ve heard nothing about.

And, let’s just say, HYPOTHETICALLY they DID injure a fan. I’m sure it was NOT on purpose, and you know how crazy fangirls can be in airports… It must be hard to get through with people climbing all over you and stuff, so one of them or one of their guards or staff members could have accidentally pushed a fan or something…

  32. 32 junsufan January 16, 2008 at 4:05 pm

    nice choice of pic, popseoul..XD
We must know that sometimes the chinese media LOVESSS to exaggerate and make up stories..*APPLEDAILY*

  33. 33 okaylynnifer January 16, 2008 at 4:33 pm

Like I said before, the chinese press are notorious for bringing people down. they us any tactics.

  34. 34 wang January 16, 2008 at 5:04 pm

seriously a lot of conspircay theorists out there. y da hell the chinese government wants to take down sum korean singers. seriously they’ve got better things to do god.

  35. 35 dangdutasik January 16, 2008 at 5:15 pm

I don’t believe it.. my friend went to Korea to see one of their concert and she was lucky enough to get a backstage pass from one of the staff, so she saw their rehearsal, she got to talk to Brian and Hwanhee.. when she asked for a signature and picture Brian asked his manager if he can, but the manager said no so both Brian and Hwanhee said sorry.. my friend told me they were soo nice that even she didn’t get a signature she was happy enough to have met them

  36. 36 Milk* January 16, 2008 at 6:48 pm

I don’t believe it either. Brian does seem like a really down to earth kind of guy. He’s actually really good to his fans. I heard he created an account on Soompi and posted a message to thank his fans (??) and he also updates his myspace every once and a while so he seems like a pretty humble guy to me. Don’t know about Hwanhee though.

  37. 37 x3yesung January 16, 2008 at 7:19 pm

I don’t get why you, as in POPSEOUL, write nonsense stuff that aren’t true and try to have a rumor started.
Knowing Brian, he’s not that type of guy! He’s a really kind down to earth guy.

    @ Milk*
I’m not sure if he created an account (gotta ask him). Mr. Boone was the one to post up a picture of Brian who was holding up a sign saying thanks to the fans of soompi. He does update his myspace once in a while, but he’s mostly on facebook. Lol.

But yeah, FTTS WOULD NEVER DO SUCH THINGS LIKE THIS! They’re 2 nice and kind guys<3

  38. 38 Hokensongirl January 16, 2008 at 8:13 pm

No offense but one can SO TELL that they’re worst than divas! :) However, it does not change the fact that Hwanhee has an amazing voice!

  39. 39 Annie January 16, 2008 at 8:34 pm

Perhaps the chinese press was twisting the truth a bit. Who knows. Personally, as a ftts fan it doesn’t seem they would do such a thing. Brian and Hwanhee have never showed signs of being arrogant or cocky. So why the sudden change? Regardless of whether they are “divos” or not, they’re still great singers.

  40. 40 Aya (Not logged in) January 16, 2008 at 8:42 pm

Dont believe everything you read popseoul.

  41. 41 crystal199187 January 16, 2008 at 10:22 pm

    omg!!!i dun believe dis…
i luv them a lot cos both of them have great voice n i luv their songs…i dunno bout hwanhee but brian seems 2 be a nice guy…but who knows, looks can be deceiving…however,i can’t denied dat brian’s very cute!!!keke

  42. 42 tenka January 16, 2008 at 10:34 pm

Popseoul is officially down the drain. First you don’t make clear statements in your posts (Miss Korea 2007 – the girl was a different Miss Korea, but it wouldn’t been better if you had stated she was Miss Korea Oceania), then you completely name a country wrong (Land of the Rising Sun/Morning Calm), and then you quote a Chinese scandal report… Chinese are infamous for making up news based on a single sighting without evidence. Lastly, you don’t acknowledge your mistakes.

Perhaps you should think about hiring an editor before getting writing interns/graphic designers and what not.

  43. 43 tenka January 16, 2008 at 10:35 pm

*I meant would have been better if you had stated…

    typo.

  44. 44 who? January 16, 2008 at 10:55 pm

” you know I kinda don’t doubt the news. We all know how Brian is & Hwanhee will I kinda think his like that too.
I still like them but I kinda think it’s true. ”

” I don’t know FTTS well enough. I like Brian a lot, but Hwanhee not so much. He seems like a guy that would be like that though. ”

i agree with the second comment. brian seems like the cheerful funny relaxed laidback person. n hwanhee seems like the i’m-all-that kinda person.

  45. 45 Ta ta January 16, 2008 at 11:42 pm

stop bashing chinese press. korean press or any other press is just as bad. they’re all just trying to create a story out of nothing (or something that really did happen). who knows!?! relax dudes. take news that like with a pinch of salt. all stars are gonna act like stars.

  46. 46 OldSchooling January 17, 2008 at 12:11 am

I think I will give them the benefit of the doubt on this one.

  47. 47 sf January 17, 2008 at 2:26 am

Both the Chinese and Korean press are notorious for exaggerating news on a shockingly regular basis sadly enough. I think Asian journalism leaves a lot to be desired in terms of professionalism and fairness – one only needs to pick up a Chinese or Korean paper to see how overwrought they are with nationalistic overtones, selective reporting, and sometimes a peculiar lack of sources. Every country is guilty of such as a whole but god, Asia really takes the cake.

Just to toss in another POV, a Korean (coincidentally) paper said eyewitnesses say that Brian ended up “shoving” a fan at the airport b/c it was impossible to even move due to the crush of people. Furthermore, there were apparently very few bodyguards present.

Seeing as how FTTS is usually above this kind of negative press I’m inclined to believe that this is either a made-up event or even more likely, simply an exaggeration of an innocent isolated action (who doesn’t shove a little in a crowed airport?) It’s a pity that bad press has caught up with celebrities with unusually spotless reputations though.

  48. 48 yeli January 17, 2008 at 4:09 am

    ^i agree with sf..

FTTS seems to have a good reputation when it comes to things like this. They have been around for so LONG, why would they all of a sudden act this way?

I think it is just an exaggeration of what really happened. Imagine the two guys being crowded and push around by a bunch of screaming fans…of course someone is bound to get hurt, but it doesn’t mean they did it on purpose…and about them requesting a separate dressing room..there could be many reasons why they chose to do that…it just seems like things are being blown out of proportion to get a story.

Both Brian and Hwanhee seem down to earth…the only reason why Brian seems more nice etc is because he is more out there while hwanhee is more reserved when on camera

was there any such think reported when they went to their japanese fan meeting earlier this year? i seriously cannot recall any bad press on them..except for the comments Brian made after two korean girls were killed by American soldiers…which was completely blown out of proportion in korea as well

  49. 49 yeli January 17, 2008 at 4:11 am

^oops…i should say “last year” since it is now 2008..haha

  50. 50 arainyday January 17, 2008 at 5:40 am

It’s not really the Chinese press, but just tabloids and paparazzi as a whole tend to blow things out of proportion and create lies. Kinda like how Brian’s comments towards the two Korean girls that were killed by the American soldiers were blown out of proportion. I agree with sf and yeli, there are reasons for their actions that just weren’t really explained.

I don’t really believe it, since FTTS has a pretty good reputation and I doubt they would stoop to that level this suddenly.
