DBSK introduces the “Purple Line”

Dbsk_20080116_popseoul

It’s not a V-line, U-line, S-line or M-line. It’s a Purple Line - the latest single from the busy Dong Bang boys. Perhaps they ditched the letters and added the colors to appear creative. But anything goes since they are Korea’s darling boyband export.

DBSK has been thriving in Japan, releasing single after single and Purple Line is a preempt to the highly anticipated third Japanese album which includes this single.

Oricon Star News’s survey found that DBSK’s reach escalated to a whopping 68.8% of consumers. This could be only a testament of their hard work and the ajumma force’s efforts to spread the word.

DBSK’s third album titled “T” will hit record stores on January 23rd.

Check out the preview of DBSK’s “Purple Line”

DBSK’s Jae Joong, likes it hot!

    so hot!!!!!

  10. 10 HappyKpopLover January 17, 2008 at 2:32 pm

Their song is really good and catchy. Yunho’s rap scared me at first but when you keep listening to the song, it actually grows on you. I hope they do good with their new single.

  11. 11 keke January 17, 2008 at 2:33 pm

I love the dance for this
can’t wait to see the entire thing

  12. 12 Whatever January 17, 2008 at 2:34 pm

Looks awesome, the boys looks fantastic (as always), I don’t understand WHY Yunho is rapping like that, the song has a nice beat, and that preview was erratic enough to give a person epilepsy.

  13. 13 wt January 17, 2008 at 2:44 pm

yunho’s looking darn fine in the pv, but got a weird voice in rapping tis song.
    changmin got fugly hair.again.
the rest of them looks good.
    song’s weird, but nice. LOL

    good luck in japan ~

  14. 14 janepak January 17, 2008 at 2:54 pm

    wtf’s with yunho’s voice?
    the song’s really really messy.

  15. 15 Jackie January 17, 2008 at 2:56 pm

The single debuted at #1 on the oricon!!! You should add that to your article as well!

  16. 16 ohgeeze. January 17, 2008 at 2:57 pm

    Love this song.
    And this dance.
Despite the fact that I’m a huge fan.
    Congrats on top #1.

  17. 17 ~HSG~ January 17, 2008 at 3:06 pm

I’m actually feeling this song. I’m just as confused about Yunho’s rapping part as everyone else.

  18. 18 jyyjc January 17, 2008 at 3:08 pm

Can’t wait for the full pv.

  21. 21 phiof1point618 January 17, 2008 at 3:20 pm

Yay!!! Another No. 1 on Oricon charts. They must be ecstatic about it. This is an awesome song, definitely deserving of No.1.

  22. 22 AIZ January 17, 2008 at 3:25 pm

Congrats to the boys for debutting at #1 on Oricon!

You should include the link of them rehearsing to Purple Line. The choreography is pretty damn hot.

  23. 23 Brina January 17, 2008 at 3:26 pm

Changmin is so adorable. His hair is always odd, but It somehow looks cute on him. This song is pretty catchy too!

  24. 24 made of salt January 17, 2008 at 3:29 pm

Gah, don’t bother about Yunho’s rap. That’s what that makes the song nice anyway.

    Omedetogozaimasu, Tohoshinki!

  25. 25 zor January 17, 2008 at 3:32 pm

    i like dbsk

  32. 32 junsufan January 17, 2008 at 4:06 pm

it topped the oricon chart on the first day despite their album releasing soon after..amazing.. :D
    i LOVEEE the song.. finally..a good japanese song..*hates summer dream,together &lovin’ you*

  33. 33 G.Yoo January 17, 2008 at 4:39 pm

I personally love the song. Any song where Yoochun says he really wants to touch himself is a sure win in my book.

Oh, and another thing. I say this from an unbiased point of view: Popseoul, please, grow up. V-line, S-line, U-line, whatever–they’re all referring to body shapes. Purple line has nothing to do with a jawline, body line, etc. Does the use of the word ‘line’ automatically make the phrase another typical, unoriginal Korean term? Um, sure. Grow up and quit bashing those who are more successful than you are.

  34. 34 BlUe suNfl0w3R January 17, 2008 at 4:43 pm

as much as i enjoy their music and cute faces, but honestly enough is enough… somehow, boy band starting sounds the same…

yey for the dong bang boys!!!!

  36. 36 d0a2 January 17, 2008 at 4:45 pm

  37. 37 gossip girl January 17, 2008 at 4:49 pm

hero looks hot!!!!! i love the music n their voices r A+++. i don’t understand a thing except for some of the english parts

  38. 38 ANA January 17, 2008 at 5:05 pm

When I first heard this song I didn’t even think that it’s DBSK’s song, they sound really different especially Hero and Yunho’s rap. This is the only song I heard from them that has beats on it. I hope they will return to their motherland more often.

  39. 39 Vanessaly January 17, 2008 at 5:10 pm

    DBSK/tvxq/tohoshinki ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  40. 40 Jamez January 17, 2008 at 5:14 pm

I wonder if Popseoul is part of Cassiopeia. Seeing how they like DBSK the most.

  41. 41 tusoo January 17, 2008 at 5:16 pm

is it just me? or is there a hand near hero’s crotch??

  42. 42 LIZ January 17, 2008 at 5:46 pm

A DBSK article without insults? I see someone has a secret crush on the Dong Bang boys.

  43. 43 werl January 17, 2008 at 5:52 pm

Loved this song e moment i heard it. Thanks for sharing e rehearsal vid, Aiz! The dance looks cool.

  44. 44 heechulrella January 17, 2008 at 6:09 pm

wow….this is great…but miss their HOT korean voices…although i’m not from korea…i guess it’s just great seeing them in korea for some odd reason but yea love them!…hwaiting!

  45. 45 nicole January 17, 2008 at 6:22 pm

when I first heard this song weeks ago and listened to yunho’s rapping part, I thought it sounded so strange and weird but now that the video’s out, whenever I listen to his rapping part, I think it’s pretty hot.

  46. 46 *~*cheonsa*~* January 17, 2008 at 6:49 pm

i thought popseoul liked FT more than DBSK

but hmmm I love love love the boys but can’t help but crack up at Yoochun’s “rolling wanna touch myself”

    Mickey = win *dies*

    Purple line is really cool!!!
    I like it a lotttt!!!
    Dbsk is the best!!!!!!!!!!

  52. 52 Ava January 17, 2008 at 8:55 pm

Really dbsk boys are super cute but wow..their music is pretty crappy - to me ^^ Yunho’s rapping reminds me of a girl’s one and i can’t stand the “wooohhoo” from JJ - just feature in the clip and stop singing, cutie one ~~ hahaha

  53. 53 gobuki January 17, 2008 at 9:08 pm

crappy? i dun think its crappy at all. ^ ^
one of my fav new songs from them!! ^ ^
yunnie and junsu looks hot in that mv!
    dbsk hwaiting!

  54. 54 ChocolateCake January 17, 2008 at 9:29 pm

Nice song, nice beats, nice dancing, not-nice-hair from Minnie(again) and weird rapping from Yunho. Well I would prefer that Yunho PURPOSELY rapped like that.. rather than him rapping like that cos his vocals fell sick or something.. But then again its hard not to fall sick when you’re running around Japan everyday :( TAKE CARE! And cute aritcle Popseoul!

  55. 55 gille shannen January 17, 2008 at 9:38 pm

    omg omg
    so hot!
    congrats to their success!
    thsk fighting! ^ ^

  56. 56 ljxxv January 17, 2008 at 10:17 pm

It’s a great song. I can’t wait for them to sing it live. I know it would be HOT ^ ^

  57. 57 lil_vi0s January 17, 2008 at 10:49 pm

    h0t!!!

  58. 58 Masaya January 17, 2008 at 10:55 pm

Popseoul is just trying hard to be opinionated to draw viewers and it works perfectly. You know desperate efforts when you see one.

This is a cool song. I hope the ajumma force and their husbands in Japan works harder at spreading the love. I completely support this CD and Album.

  59. 59 classicaldancer January 17, 2008 at 10:58 pm

OMG….they look soooooooooo HOTT in purple! With those purple highlights???? mmmm…and there’s this one rehearsal of them doing the entire purple line dance and it’s AMAZING. Jaejoong is absolutely amazing…as usual :)

And congratulations to the boys for hitting #1 on the Oricon charts by a wide margin! yay!

    Jaejoong oppa <3!

  60. 60 tazz January 17, 2008 at 11:07 pm

    such a goood song
    i love everything about it
Yunho’s rap kinda made the whole song for me. i adore his tiny voice x]

    jgffjjnnhj
    RELEASE THE FULL VERSION DAMMIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
avex is killing me. meh -..-’

  61. 61 huh January 18, 2008 at 12:01 am

    good song? in what way?

who said crappy? i agree with you….

purple line.. when i think purple = gay.. so they are saying they’re gay? hahaha~ finally the boys has come out…

  62. 62 ajumma January 18, 2008 at 1:12 am

They’ve already come out when they all said “sorry girls I’m gay” on Su’s bday which is all good. For the one who said purple=gay, you can stop thinking purple=gay because officially it’s blue=gay. Remember Police Academy the blue oyster bar and also something legend of blue wolf. *cough*

  63. 63 kitty January 18, 2008 at 1:23 am

    well done boys!
    first in oricon chart

  64. 64 nygyopo January 18, 2008 at 2:16 am

I am assuming that Yunho’s voice was recorded at a slower speed and then sped up to fit the beat of the song. Rapping in Japanese is a lot harder than rapping in Korean.

  65. 65 Amy January 18, 2008 at 3:26 am

This is actually my favorite Japanese song of theirs. Yunho’s rapping is strange with the effects, though. At first, I thought Junsu had picked up some tabs from Tablo during AnyBand and decided to try rapping. They sound great and I can’t wait till the full MV is released.

  66. 66 Reina January 18, 2008 at 3:38 am

i love these song its so great and
yes yunho can rap that fast
    and TVXQ is the best!!!!!!!!!!!

  67. 67 ANTI DBSK January 18, 2008 at 3:40 am

DBSK SUCKS like shi*!!!!!!!! I hate their music….i bet this new album was just as bad as the previous ones!!! Stupid DBSK, I had to write this here…I’m speaking in behalf of who hates DBSK!!!!!

  68. 68 -kumori- January 18, 2008 at 4:17 am

    @ ANTI DBSK
..talk about yourself & not the rest of the civilization as well.

I’m not a fan of DBSK, not even close, but this song has potential - although the song’s beginning sounds totally the same as Gia Farrell’s “Hit Me Up”, it has a nice beat. it’s catchy, the lyrics match the beat, just Yoochun’s part “I really wanna touch myself” - that scared me a little bit.
[I just still didn't understand what's the purple line for.]
The rap parts were ‘ok’. it’s hard for foreigners to rap in Japanese - of course.
but.. the rep sounded to me a little bit like the Teriyaki Boyz song from “Fast & Furious” [ xD ]
the coreo is awesome - as expected from a Korean boy-band.

I will never like DBSK as persons, but the song is really good - a great party hit & POP song. and that’s what only matters in this world full of Tokio Hotel, US5 & other Western crimes.

Omedetou to #1 in Oricon [!]
[even miyavi couldn't do it better]

  69. 69 phreaque January 18, 2008 at 4:34 am

the song is overly processed. and yunho’s rap is weird.

i wish they’d stop cashing in on the japanese market and go back to making kickass korean songs like rising sun and triangle.

but that probably won’t happen anytime soon. if ever. :/

  70. 70 elle January 18, 2008 at 4:50 am

yet they still have not explained what the hell a “purple line” was…

  71. 71 Hot Hot Hot January 18, 2008 at 5:07 am

    i love TVXQ…
wtf is up w/ Max’s hair?
it looked goood at the ANYBAND Concert…=]
    sounds different…^_^;
    but i still love em’…

  72. 72 Arie January 18, 2008 at 5:16 am

    YAY!
I’m really happy to see some brand new DBSK music ^^
As for the name of the song, I don’t really understand the “line” but purple has always been my fave colour, they totally got it right X’D
The song is catchy, has great dance moves..
Yunho’s rapping was quite weird the first time I listened to it, but I guess it kinda grows on you ^^
The “I really wanna touch myself” by Yoochun got me laughing A LOT!
I don’t like the sound effects they putted in some parts, though, it sounds like trashy techno..

About their looks.. Junsu looks really good, Yoochun too, as well as JJ, though I prefer his black hair..
I miss Changmin’s ponytail, his hair looks awkward and I think dying a purple streak on Yunho’s hair was kinda stupid, they are taking the purple concept a bit too far X’D

Anywayz, congratz on getting #1 on Oricon ^^
Thank goodness they dropped the Summer Dream/Shine concept >__< (though they could get Minnie’s ponytail back =D)

  73. 73 Di January 18, 2008 at 5:57 am

    That was really…horrible.
    WTF…they call that music?
Those boys are cute…but they should just sing instead of trying to pull whatever the heck that was.You can’t even call it rapping. X.X

  74. 74 Loves Sexy Boys January 18, 2008 at 6:07 am

This song is Hot, Hot, Hot!! The sexiness just exudes from every pore of their body. I love this song. I am melting right now.

  75. 75 PurplePrincess January 18, 2008 at 6:13 am

The choreography for the dance is AMAZING. The song is great by itself, the choreography is absolutely mindblowing, but when you put the two together….
I can’t wait for a real performance, after seeing that rehearsal vid that AIZ posted.

  76. 76 Tiffany January 18, 2008 at 6:45 am

The song is good, but I prefer their other singing styles. However, I like the fact that they try new styles to see if their music will turn out good or not (and to see if the public likes it). After all, from my perspective, talented artists are those who tries out different music and acting styles, and does not hesitate when it comes to trying new things.

I am so not an ajumma!

  77. 77 hearmeroar January 18, 2008 at 7:10 am

My Japanese teacher (who is in her twenties) told me today that when she went back to Japan this past break, she saw dbsk on tv and stuff & was wondering who they were… and she said their Japanese was really good. According to her, they’re getting really famous in Japan, so good for them! I guess their hard work is paying off.

  78. 78 Rina January 18, 2008 at 7:36 am

    Sound like crap.

  79. 79 rie January 18, 2008 at 7:48 am

Masaya: “Popseoul is just trying hard to be opinionated to draw viewers and it works perfectly. You know desperate efforts when you see one.”

    Second that.

@phreaque: Actually, it is somehow a Korean song. It is by Yoo Young Jin after all :)

Congratulations on getting #1 on Oricon, Tohoshinki!

  80. 80 eugene January 18, 2008 at 8:00 am

    GOOD JOB TVXQ!!!!
    i looove this song:]
but i hope they’ll come back to korea soon><

  81. 81 tangy January 18, 2008 at 8:25 am

oooooo i saw the preview for that on facebook and it was hot…can’t wait!!
but but but when are they coming back to korea??….i dun want them in japan…grrr

  82. 82 jyyjc January 18, 2008 at 8:42 am

i read that purple line, the name, had something to do with tokyo being purple…the flag and other stuff…i don’t know.

  83. 83 Cutie January 18, 2008 at 8:46 am

This song, I dont hate it, yet I dont love it… I guess I’m not use to Yunho’s voice in the beginning @.@
    But the dancing was cool~

But I do hope after this, they will come to Korea =^.^=

  84. 84 ize101 January 18, 2008 at 9:57 am

i noe at first i was like
whos rapping? what did they do
    to yunhos hot husky voice?
    [its all chipmunky? now]

    it gets better every
    time i listen to it
    the buildings turning to
    speakers were cool!!

  85. 85 Alisha January 18, 2008 at 10:06 am

Yunho’s rap in the beginning is a bit strange. Must be the effects or something. :p The song is catchy but somewhere in middle, it reminds me of an English’s song which I can’t recall the name of it right now. (^o^) Well purple is one of my fav. color. (^_^)

  86. 86 Shanny January 18, 2008 at 10:10 am

I’m tired of their Japanese music. I wish they would release more Korean stuff.

  87. 87 uhhhhhh.................... January 18, 2008 at 10:55 am

    not feelin it…
    don’t like the song…
    don’t like the “purple line”
what’s next… pink line, yellow line, orange line, brown line.. it’s corny..

  88. 88 Ann*e January 18, 2008 at 11:05 am

    i love them! hehe. cool~
but why do they have to call
it the “purple line?” that’s kinda
weird… but oh well! it’s DBSK!

    &&

why can’t the anti’s here just keep
    their opinions to themselves?

  89. 89 igoRAWR January 18, 2008 at 12:35 pm

    lol

i had no idea what it meant

    its so random
    oh well

    love dbsk <33

  90. 90 ?? January 18, 2008 at 12:45 pm

ahhh if only this album was in korean instead of japanese. for some reason, japanese doesnt suit the beat that this album has. it just sounds weird

  91. 91 junsufan January 18, 2008 at 1:11 pm

I thought this song was composed by Yoo Young Jin who sorta composed O and Rising Sun (big hits). The choreography is..JJANG.. :D

  92. 92 Natz January 18, 2008 at 1:25 pm

Love the new song, although I agree with ‘Whatever’ that I don’t understand why YunHo has to rap like that too, lol!

I don’t quite get why some people here are critising the song though, even if it may not sound the best (Which I do not think so), it most certainly isn’t bad.

And yes, the cheoregraphy is… Whoa…

  93. 93 jaesis January 18, 2008 at 1:44 pm

loving with this so much… can’t wait buy it…^__^
by the way, this is one of the best song from Japaneses singles….
    keep good job!!

  94. 94 mIcHeLlE-LuVz-KaNgIn January 18, 2008 at 1:52 pm

dbsk are so hot. i luv their songs. hero is so funny.

  95. 95 Pualani January 18, 2008 at 2:57 pm

OMG..I was a lil iffy on this song, esp Yunho’s rap part. But it’s catchin on to me..esp the beat & base of the song. I can’t wait till the entire PV & CD/DVD of this song & album comes out! This song is gonna be number one again on the Oricon charts..I hope!!

  96. 96 koreanchocolate January 18, 2008 at 4:11 pm

Actually, Junsu did a small explaination of what Purple Line meant. It was kinda messy but Junsu mentioned that the Purple Line is the horizon of when the sun sets; no matter where we stand, we will still all be able to view it. Although the horizon may seem to separate us, we wouldn’t know for sure unless we cross those boundaries. Kinda rough, but I guess I can see where Junsu’s coming from.

    @ phreaque,
Their songs can’t be ‘overly processed’ seeing how they’ll have to sing live eventually in front of an audience.

They’re also doing a Korean version of Purple Line as well. These boys are seriously too much love to handle!

Another thing. Some people mentioned how Yunho’s rap was weird. It’s not like he raps like that all the time; he did it because it fit well into the song. I personally really liked it. Not so much at first, but it totally grew on me.

    @ ANTI DBSK,
Your mom must’ve dropped you hard on the head when you were born. Did the Dong Bang Shin Ki boys ever kill your parents? Burn your house? Beat you? Probably not. It’s people like you that slows us down from complete civilization.

  98. 98 dbskluvr January 18, 2008 at 5:38 pm

    Yunho sounds different.
New mv concept, like it. It’s really edgy, really good.

  99. 99 voiceofreason January 18, 2008 at 6:03 pm

Yunho’s rap sound is deliberate.. he said he had to do it through his nose. Today is their first live performance of the song.. can’t wait to see it!

  100. 100 tazz January 18, 2008 at 6:31 pm

    ITS ON TODAY!!!!!!!

    wawawawa
cant wait to go back home and watch it
its gonna be frikken awesoem XD

    LOVE Dongbangshinki forever
and i dont give one rat’s ass what the anti’s says
theyre just a bunch of low life who has nothing better to do then complain all the fooking time :]

  101. 101 j January 18, 2008 at 8:34 pm

lol. u know what’s funny.. when i saw the ‘purple line’ the first thing that popped into my mind was the ‘first response’ or whatever brand pregnancy tests! .. and how the commercials always says something about the lines!! hahaha ..

this leads me to think about those ‘you never knew …’ ads.. where they get a guy and it says how you could never tell they had herpes or sometihng like that

  102. 102 doll_ie January 18, 2008 at 11:16 pm

love the song! the beat is good and the dance is cool!

but yuhos rap was a little…first, i thought it would be changminh xD

  103. 103 Blahblahbon January 19, 2008 at 12:42 am

They’re average like every other boyband.
There’s nothing new or special about them or the song or anything…Not that that’s bad, but let’s not pretend DBSK is something different, it’s old and annoying. Bring on the Cassiopeias, you’re all the same, i understand you want to defend your idols, but come on…there’s no way you can say they’re better than everyone else when they’re exactly the same. It’s stupid to make them look so Godly and unique when they’re not, every other boyband is the same. And seriously? They’re NOT the only acapella group on the planet, nor are they the best, so we can stop making it look like they are they were the first to sing acapella. I don’t even have a problem with DBSK, they’re not bad, but they’re not Gods either. I’m just sick of everyone being compared to this…ordinary boyband. Blah-blah-blah.

  104. 104 AC January 19, 2008 at 1:23 am

didn’t really feel this song when i first heard it. but after the second, the beat just got into me and before i knew it, i’ve started to love the song already.

the smooth choreography, although certainly one of their best for me, was only a plus point for the over-all impact of the song.

  105. 105 iluvkyuhyunnie January 19, 2008 at 1:41 am

damn.. i love this song.. haha i can’t wait for the mv..

  106. 106 iluvkyuhyunnie January 19, 2008 at 4:25 am

haha well like i said.. i can’t wait for their mv… junsuie is going to be so adorable… ahaha same goes for the other members as well haha… saranghae oppas

  107. 107 iluvkyuhyunnie January 19, 2008 at 4:30 am

    i l9ove purple line…

  108. 108 chink January 19, 2008 at 12:44 pm

fuking talentless bunch of underweight boys…
image is everything nowdays, talent is 0
they won’t survive a day in the american industry and will be ripped apart by appearing so very gay

  109. 109 junsufan January 19, 2008 at 12:47 pm

Blahblahbon - LOL , i find u complaining about DBSK’s overrated popularity all the time. That’s right, they’re ordinary boys but they have CHARISMA and godknowswhat to make girls go crazy over them.

  110. 110 Anonymous January 19, 2008 at 1:25 pm

^to add to junsufan- one more thing that sets them apart is that they CAN sing (live), unlike you’re ordinary boy bands ;)

@Chink: The American industry? It’s funny that you mention it because it is barely filled with any talent these days.

This is a catchy song but it takes a while to grow on you. The rapping sounds weird but somewhat fits the song. Their practice vid and the choreography was AWESOME!

Congratz to them for making it to #1 on the Oricon charts. They’ve worked hard…even to the extent of endangering their health.

  111. 111 Jan January 19, 2008 at 3:31 pm

Well, Still dun know why they try all their best to enter Japanese market. It’s not their country. Why they dun go back to their own country and word hard there?

It’s ridiculous to hear that they reach the top rank at Japan. There are a lot of talented groups there. Will they be able to reach the top rank?? I doubt it….

  112. 112 Dovey January 19, 2008 at 3:54 pm

Go, go, go…! By the way, when are they supposed to be called in for Military Duty/Service? When that happens…I hope the band doesn’t dissolve…

  113. 113 who? January 19, 2008 at 9:49 pm

geez. they’re still very young yknow.

this song is…..welll…mediocre. hope to hear more songs with the standard of Ojungbanhap, Hug, Mideoyo n The Way u Are.

  114. 114 suju.dbsk January 19, 2008 at 10:15 pm

wow finally an upbeat and a nice song .. i was kinda getting tired of listening to the slow songs they were singing. purple is line is really catchy. the first time i heard it, it was like, huh was is it? but then it grew on me. its very nice a new style for the dong bang boys.

    @ANTI DBSK
your username tells us why u posted your useless comment. dbsk arent the worst boyband alive they can sing and dance i dont get why you hate them so much. jealous? and speak for yourself not others. its not like u’re much better

    @chink
no offense but their talent is higher than many artists in the amercian industry and they would do fine in the amercian industy. their talent is limitless and captivate many fans in the western world as well as asia. so think again? the amercian industry isnt exactly at its best is it?

  115. 115 kellz January 20, 2008 at 3:24 am

its finally out!proud that they are doing really well.

but i miss them and their Korean music..hope they return to Korea soon and start releasing Korean singles..

  116. 116 mariko January 20, 2008 at 5:01 am

They were no.1 on the chart for like a day, lol.

  117. 117 Michaella January 20, 2008 at 9:54 am

isnt jae joong kinda short???? i hope he doesnt read this!!!
changmin is kinda tall compared to him.

Micky=hes a better rapper than i thought i didnt even know he could rap!!
U-Know=well he has most of the dancing skills
Xiah/Xia=best voice ttly!!! rising sun on youtube
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDITeXObEjE
Hero=cute!!!!! liked him in black hair better sooooo much cuter!!!
Max=my personal favorite!!! cutie!!! more than Hero anyway!!
hes a good dancer!!! in rising sun he is like screaming his head off!!!

  118. 118 Yuriko January 20, 2008 at 11:59 am

Nice beat, I was waiting for them to make another song something like “Rising Sun” or “O”, so it’s cool they came up with this.

But something’s lacking, I’m not sure. The song seem too short. And.. and.. and.. they should really ask someone to “check” they’re English words/grammar before releasing the song. I mean… “ITS LOOKS LIKE.. PURPLE LINE.” That sounds really wrong. I don’t want this guys to tour Europe or the US and be laughed at with that kind of grammar.

Anyway, it’s a cool song, something that most fans have been waiting for to hear. Hopefully they can have more like this.

  119. 119 ma9enta January 20, 2008 at 12:54 pm

    ommo… it’s so cooL..

  120. 120 Star January 20, 2008 at 2:00 pm

This mv is so cool! I love Yunho’s rapping in the begining!;)

  121. 121 LMAO January 21, 2008 at 1:16 pm

Yuriko: this song seems too short ’cause it’s not the entire song. the entire dongbang fandom is waiting w. bated breath for avex to release the entire pv, to no avail. at least not yet.
personally, i love different singing style, and i’m totally digging the choreography.

  122. 122 ---- January 21, 2008 at 7:13 pm

FYI guys. Micky’s “I really wanna touch myself” has nothing to do with anything nasty. It’s something like.. the things around him is fake? so he wants to touch himself to see if it’s real. Something along those lines.
Antifans needs a life and stop LOOKING INTO things they are NOT interested in. If you don’t the person, move on dude, just freaking move on. No one tells you to freaking watch them, and no one made you comment them. So why do it? Why can’t you just LOOK THE OTHER WAY? dang. No need for bashing. Go get a life dude.

  123. 123 Natalie January 22, 2008 at 4:13 am

Ohhh they are soooo gorgeous! I agree that yunhos rappings a bit…wierd (?) but it is growing on me

Yeah i was really disappointed when i found out yoochuns “i really wanna touch myself” wasnt what it sounded like lol :P i wonder if he knows what it sounds like in english? haha

But anyway yeah, they look absolutely stunning…even more so than ever! gotta love em

    saranghae DBSK!!!

    xxxxx

  124. 124 illia January 22, 2008 at 10:46 pm

totally dig this song, i’ve been waiting for the next heavy choreographed song–which i totally love.

yes there are some similarities from rising sun and O in their dances but what is has more is body rolling and dancing off-beat.

    *total LOVE*.

aaah yunho ^^;;; is he trying something new?

the dance itself is awesome. i reaaally hope the director has some sense of mind to make a dance ver. of the video clip–cuz that would just complete their CD+DVD single [but too late...]

micky’s “i really wanna touch myself” DOES sound english. if you know what he’s gonna say X3.

if you look at DBSK’s discography on wiki you’ll find that they have a Korean ver. of Purple Line *OMGOMGOMGOGMOGOGMOGMOGMGGG!!!!11!!one!1*
damn i’d love to hear that.

the songwriter of this song is jap, but the composer is korean (from what i can tell from his name). the music does sound abit korean tho dont you think?

dong bang, u guys r awsome…. please marry me!!!

  133. 133 mikomi February 1, 2008 at 1:10 pm

    DBSK love 4-ever.

Lol, I love how they intersperse English words with their Japanese songs. I think their Japanese image is like cooler, slimer compared to their Korean image. Remember the different Japanese and Korean Mvs for O?

The first time I heard Micky’s line “I really wanna touch myself” - I love his introduction in English; “gotta introduce myself”

I rly like Purple Line. It grows on you =)

Regarding Yunho’s voice, all of their voices sound a lil modified (by themselves of course). Listen to Jaejoong’s voice at first, it has a lil of that wierd quality in Yunho’s voice. Does that make sense?

    HWAITING DBSK!

  136. 136 tomoko February 2, 2008 at 1:45 pm

i read somewhere “purple line” was referring to the horizon? here’s the translation of it: (http://delymma.imeem.com/blogs/2008/01/17/WTsNtpCW/purple_line_complete_translation) oh! and the meaning behind purple line is in the comments.

i like it. its different. they do different things to break the monotonous-ness (i know that’s not a word) of ballads and stuff. don’t get me wrong, i LOVE their ballads, but a pop-y song or a hip hop-y song once in a while isn’t so bad.

as for their looks, i’ve always thought they all looked good all the time… but i REALLY prefer yoochun’s hair long. it framed his face well.

  137. 137 Tavi February 4, 2008 at 11:53 am

has anybody heard the korean version of it??

It’sokay…but the Jap. ver. sounds better

Girls, check their latest Mv’s on korean version.

This is DBSK entry isnt it? It is the time to be fangirly!

    I say!

    Sizzilingly hot..

    Overload hotness…

    Solid sexiness….

They didnt have to overdone some sexyness like some artist did by take out their shirt etc but DBSK sexiness is subtle.

And those who said they are girly mans who sing the same song better check their temperature and T album respectively.

Has a lot of new genres. Full of it..

Our boys never make us bored.

At least they didnt have to make a mv that sooo americanized or westernized to burn us with their hotness. They have at least their own identity and didnt have to try soo hard to look sexy.

    * But I have to agree with YURIKO, we in Soompi’s even have discussed widely the lines in this songs. We tough are a fans of Dbsk but not stupid or blind. Most of international fans are educated and not some obsessed fangiry Cassies.

*In terms of music, it always open to critism but in fair, equal judgment and objective way. Yes, SM should hired a prof reader and hired a profound whatever if they want to be acknowledge internationally and also as a profesional singer and musican.I agreed on you with it.

*The issues of Yunho rapping also, it is subjective and a relative matter that is open to discussion and different people has different view on it. I said. I loved it.!

Btw: Popseoul. Purple Line mean the other side or horizon that hard to catch but try to achive. Like high ambition sort of.

WARNINGS: This post above is contain with fangirly stuff. If you are alergic to it, please do avoid read it. Thanks.^_^

Wow! it was almost killed me! I’m telling the truth yes it so freaking cool and damn hot. At first after reading the comments in Soompi, I didnt put so much expectation. I just watched calmly. After it is just started what the heck i can’t get calm anymore, i really need to cool off. Except the scynchronize of the song’s with their lips that I still try to adapt other than that it is marvelous!

I mean i is so amazingly done, from the dances, the lightning, the choreography, the arrangment of the studio’s, additional dancers, and it is SURELY very different with thier previous MV’s and that what is amazed me so much. As we can see, their previous Mv’s- from their debut most of the dances always in the dim light etc. But this is different. They mixed the two concept of dark and light amazingly. Especially the light version that focusing to the boys when they dance and it is not so light yet it is depressing in subtle way. Very sexy and subtle.

I can’t find the exact word. It is beyonds words and expectation. It is not an ordinary visual of them that we will see. Yunho is so incredibaly stunning mostly the rapping part. When he started to stopped with a very different gesture’s of his hand and his body.

Arghh i just might die then. It is so wonderfully done. I bet they sure will received a recognition with this MV. It is so professional. As for me, this is my favorite dance MV’s of them for now. I didnt easily fall for a dance MV. As much as I loved the boys, their previous MV’s and find Yunho so freaking hot in dancing, i still yearning for more and carving for new style of dances. I want to see something that totally blow me off. And this MV has did it. Blow me off. Right from the beginning. Beside their rehearsal, this is their best. The solo dance that was subtle sexy with the additional dancers that not overshadowed them yet emphasizing on them more.

Everything! I mean it is such an amusing, stunning and incredibly done, powerful, profesional, high quality, different- not their usual movements, with a very neat details MV for me.

oh my freaking god, I love DBSK!! I adore yunho! Can that man get any sexier? He’s perfect! even his dyed hair and capped teeth are perfect!

I love you, yunho! It took me a while to appreciate you (because, I did like that other member of dbsk), but I utterly, absolutely love you ~

    Saranghae <3

But what the hell is Mickey saying? First he touches his crotch in the summer 06′ japanese mv of summer dream (or whatever its called) and now this?

I don’t care if they’re trying to “excuse” the meaning of this enlish on-liner, with the japanese lyrics - its funky & we all know that the music producers enjoyed this lewd deviation - that establishes Mickey as the full-blown perv.

Why Mickey? Keep it in your pants, behind closed doors.

    the song is awesome!!!!

  147. 147 jinhee March 15, 2008 at 12:59 pm

I loved the song, though I have to admit the Japanese version sounds smoother than the Korean one.
They all looked nice in the mv, and their voices kind of scared me the first time I listened to it, especially Yunho’s.
The choreography and the dancing was exceptional, as expected of DBSK (Tohoshinki, is it in Japan?).
Also, why the random English phrases?
I mean, most popular Korean songs have at least one English word in it.
    Is it a secret rule?
Is it to make their song better?
Ahhh, but I laughed when I heard, “I really wanna touch myself.” in the lyrics.

  148. 148 syasz March 16, 2008 at 5:02 am

i love my dong bang boys, but seriously, when i first heard this song’s mp3 version, i was like, what kind of crap is this?
but when i listened to the song again and again, and started to hum along, AND after i watched the MV ( finally ! ) i actually kinda really like this song now.. though i can’t help but admit that they sound strange singing this song, especially in live.. nasal much!
and has anybody realised that they seem to suffer a lot when they try to pull off forever love live? they can’t seem to reach the high notes, and it’s really killing me to see them like that! i mean, whatever happen to your ‘tonight’, ‘footsteps’, ‘beautifuk thing’ and ‘hey girl’ voices that i love so much?
*sigh* i miss your korean voices guy
