FT Island shows love for underprivileged teens

Ftisland_20081015_popseoul

The five young talents of FT Island made an impressive gesture when they personally requested that teens from underprivileged families be invited to concerts on their first tour, “First Island.” In each of the 10 cities on the tour route, FT Island members will distribute 500 lunch boxes to teens from low income families, inviting them to their concert. Whether or not this is a publicity stunt, we’re happy to know that this gesture will benefit fans who are otherwise unable to see their idols in real life.

Wow, thats a pretty amazing and sincere thing for them to do. Just a great way to be the idols and role models to the fans.

    F.T Island Let’s Go !!!

  6. 6 Kd January 17, 2008 at 2:08 am

^I think many idols have done similar feats already.

    Kudos to the boys though!

I mean, even if there are doubts as to their true intentions, at least its supposed to result in something good I guess.

    F.T Island Let’s Go !!!

  8. 8 Kim January 17, 2008 at 2:59 am

I Bet they’re doing it just to get some compliments from people so they can get rich and famous!!! What losers; it’s nice to see them helping, but what is their real and true motivations????

  9. 9 spin January 17, 2008 at 3:32 am

I’m sure they are doing it for compliments, however, its nice that they are extending themselves to allow disadvantaged ppl to see their idols in person.

Or even to be around idols (even if the children arent’ fans of them).

poor or not, who wouldn’t want to see a bunch of cute boys? ^^

  10. 10 yeli January 17, 2008 at 4:18 am

aaww…no matter the intentions, that is still a nice gesture..giving kids who are not able to afford concert tickets an opportunity to meet their idol…i am sure this is going to help them with publicity but it is also making many kids happy, so kudos to them for that ^___^

these kids seem so nice and “innocent”…hope they are around for a long time and that the music industry does not corrupt them too much.

  11. 11 Sophia January 17, 2008 at 4:21 am

If Super Junior had done this, you would’ve said it was purely for publicity :)

  12. 12 hellaakon January 17, 2008 at 4:52 am

Publicity stunt or not, it’s still a nice thought. Good for them…and the kids!

    Yes!!!

  14. 14 BKJSuh January 17, 2008 at 5:12 am

    Nice, I hoe it isn’t a stunt.

  15. 15 Triple6 January 17, 2008 at 5:54 am

It’s great how you bash some artists for supposedly doing good deeds as a publicity stunt but don’t give a rats ass when others do

  16. 16 Mina January 17, 2008 at 6:05 am

HongGi is kinda weird in the pic, but he’s still cute heheh

  17. 17 resabambino January 17, 2008 at 6:23 am

Thats very nice of them. Hopefully they can spend some time with these kids not just hand out Bento boxes.

  18. 18 iluvkyuhyunnie January 17, 2008 at 6:36 am

wow that is so sweet of F.T. ISLAND… I WISH I WAS IN ONE OF THOSE CITIES.. I MEAN I’M LIKE ONE OF THESE LOW INCOME FAMILY TOO… UGH.. MAN I WISH I WAS LIKE LIVING IN ASIA…

  19. 19 gossip girl January 17, 2008 at 7:13 am

wow, look at the comments above.

  20. 20 naj January 17, 2008 at 7:32 am

If it would’ve been Super Junior, you wouldn’t write something nice…

  21. 21 F January 17, 2008 at 7:35 am

Finally, popseoul writes something that makes sense. Who cares if it’s for publicity???? As long as people are being helped. And I’m not just saying this because I love F.T Island :)

  22. 22 Cyan January 17, 2008 at 8:01 am

That’s really nice of the boys. I don’t understand why they have a lot antis :\

    Also, guys please read this:
    http://www.dramabeans.com/2007/12/no-celebrity-good-deed-goes-unpunished

You guys are being way too cynical. Have -YOU- given any donations to the unfortunate?

  23. 23 Tiffany January 17, 2008 at 8:24 am

Even if it’s for publicity, what they are doing is for a good cause. After all, I am sure that they have fans who are not able to see them because of their living conditions. In addition, what they are doing is for a good cause and by the end of the day, they will feel good for making people smile at least once throughout the day.

At least they are doing something good, rather than creating a scandal in order to get attention.

  24. 24 Sophia January 17, 2008 at 8:41 am

    Cyan, yes I have :) Kthxstfu~

Super Junior has still given more time to the “needy” than F.T. Island’s little attempt, as well as DBSK. Notice how Changmin gave his time to help something and DID NOT WANT recognition for it? Whereas it seems to me that F.T. Island trying to tell the whole world “LOOK WE’RE GIVING THINGS AWAY FOR FREE! AREN’T WE GREAT?”

Not that I don’t like their music, I just don’t think they’re as sincere as they seem :) They’re in a business where nothing can be taken at face value. Live with it.

  25. 25 wow January 17, 2008 at 9:01 am

^ agreed. i like some of their music, but they really give off that “worship us. we’re so great” vibe. especially the main vocal’s face.

  26. 26 Psh January 17, 2008 at 9:03 am

Gee, the “stfu” wasn’t really necessary Sohpia. Way to be civil.

  27. 27 jyyjc January 17, 2008 at 9:05 am

everytime there’s a post about celebs doing some nice charity thing…they’re accused of doing it for publicity. who cares, atleast they’re helping.

  28. 28 APRIL January 17, 2008 at 9:13 am

great idea…I don’t care if it is a stunt as long as those kids benefit from it I think it’s great and they continue to find ways to help.

  29. 29 Sophia January 17, 2008 at 9:15 am

^ I agree, but I’m just trying to point out how there’s A LOT OF CELEBRITIES who do these types of things, yet THEY are always accused of doing it for the hype and publicity. However, since it’s the babies F.T. Island, it “doesn’t matter” since they’re doing it for the “greater good”. It’s stupid :)

Psh, spelling my name goes way out of line~**~*~ Get over it :P I was joking. Internet arguments are silly; I don’t need to be civil or polite, it isn’t necessary, there isn’t anything to gain or lose from this conversation.

  30. 30 chiaye January 17, 2008 at 9:27 am

    hmm writer.. seems..

    ——-

I would like to go to their concert… hm sucks. I’m nowhere near them .. and i doubt those that are “under priviledged” can go anyways. Parents would be say something about it being a hoax/no time/wasteful.. and the “rich” fans would be sworming all over the place before the “non-rich” would go and line up..

  31. 31 x3yesung January 17, 2008 at 10:14 am

:] That’s so nice of them! These boys are kind hearted :)
Who cares if its for the public, I mean, they’re helping out family who are low in income ya know?

I wish I could go to their concert XD
I hope they come to Hollywood Bowl in LA this year xD

  32. 32 Ann*e January 17, 2008 at 10:23 am

    cute and nice! nice mix
    ;D

  33. 33 yeoreum January 17, 2008 at 10:37 am

sad to read some judgemental comments in here… but it’s okay, people really have different views on things they see or read…

am a band member too and we really do stuffs like this… its not for the popularity nor publicity.. we are just musicans who gathered together to enjoy our music and that when we play, we just want the people listening to us to enjoy what we do and appreciate the music we do…

  34. 34 janepak January 17, 2008 at 10:59 am

yeah it doesn’t matter if it’s a publicity stunt lol they’ve already got the attention and besides it’s a great opportunity for the fans ^^

  35. 35 cindy--rox January 17, 2008 at 11:13 am

    wow..they’re hot and helpful!!
its good that they’re trying to show teens with low income some love..

  36. 36 elle January 17, 2008 at 11:25 am

Hey they are really cute! ^_^ how come I’ve never heard of them b4??? O_o

  37. 37 YeXing January 17, 2008 at 11:27 am

It’s kinda funny how you trash other artists when they do this kind of thing. If it was SuJu, or Rain, then you would have been all over it.

  38. 38 Jennifer January 17, 2008 at 11:31 am

~*~*That’s AWESOME!!! It will definitely bring joy to those teens who other wise would not have had the opportunity to experience the excitement of attending a concert! RoCk On!!*~*~

  39. 39 panshel January 17, 2008 at 11:59 am

Good boys. I’m proud of them for reaching out to their community like that.

” If it would’ve been Super Junior, you wouldn’t write something nice… ”

    haha, what?

no caring what’s their true intentions are. coz nobody knows. n the fans get a treat as well.

  49. 49 suju.dbsk January 19, 2008 at 10:17 pm

wow that’s a very nice thing they did. i hope more artists follow their lead.

  50. 50 Lolly January 28, 2008 at 10:21 am

Each of the guys would fit perfectly into a different drama character. HongKi is very goofy and seems clueless. Minhwan is like the younger second lead that likes the same girl his older brother does. Jaejin is the very mature character with a successful career. WonBin is the good guy who is underappreciated. JongHun is the asshole, player who degrades women.
