Whatever. If anything, the Stanford degree was an asset. It probably got Tablo’s foot in the door when no one would look twice at a scrawny 5′5 nerdy wannabe rapper. The Epik High frontman confessed that having a degree from prestigious west coast university was more of a burden on the cable channel OBS, which aired on January 12th, 2008. Tablo also thought about quitting school and attributes to his graduation to his family’s support. Also, he added that his father was a huge influence on his decision to enter Stanford University. The rapper wrote his personal essay on a poem written by his father, an orphan, when he was 7 years old.

lol.
I tried to find the wannabe thing but nowhere to find.
I have heard a lot of this boys. He got a decent degree both in bachelor and master degree. But I never really into him because of his degree but his real talent in music and his amazing group as well an intelligent lyrics. He got my full respect by that.
Being a master student myself and still completting my thesis. Yes, i can feel and know why a degree is a burden. When expectation is high from people around you. When what you want to do is contradict with what is in your degress.
In this cased I have to differ with you Popseoul. Actually I have read this in more decent artcile in dramabeans. He has a lot of thinking before wntering the music world as long as the pressure being an artist/educated child with the loved of his family.
He has been asked of it. Not he bugging of it.
Well, in entertaiment world a simple words,a simple pictures, that come from the artists could be interprated into 1000 assumption and speculation. Talking about rumors world.
But I agreed with @okaylynnifer, I come here for mere light news of Korean Pop. What I have is what I get.
typo: bragging and what he feel about his love and concerntoward his family pressure because him being an artist.
He sometimes want to quit because of he didnt want his loved one feelin depress because of it. It in dramabeans. The full article. A decent one. A person with a good personality will just like this man. Believe me.
popseoul…the next perezhilton? what if she/he looked like perez hilton…
i’d laugh my ass off…
“Wannabe” rapper? Uh are you expecting him to be like 50 Cent who has crappy lyrics? Talks about sex, drugs, gangs and all that crap? I love Tablo, he’s refreshing, has EXCELLENT lyric writing skills and doesn’t make himself out to be like the typical rapper. Wake up please and listen to good music for once :S
a degree is a burden in the rap world in korea i guess the same way coming from a surburban split level home is a burden in america’s rap world where everyone is coming from the projects and was shot 9 times. you need to have street cred and a stanford degree, as wonderful as it sounds, i guess wasn’t helping. maybe he can douse his rap liberally with big words. educate the masses.
It’s a gift and a burden.
It’s good to be smart, but what use is it if your dreams are not in the academic field? Tablo’s dream was to be a musician, not some professor. So in a way, it is a burden.
Then again, it’s like a double edged sword. If Epik High fails, Tablo can always get a good job somewhere.
^ i agree
props to danny for taking the words right out of my mouth (:
tablo is an amazing artist, and if you only see him as a “scrawny 5′5 nerdy wannabe rapper,” then whatever, it’s your opinion (and loss).
i say that you just have a narrow-minded way of thinking. i don’t blame you though, a lot of people are like you–too ignorant to open their eyes to anything else.
Tablo is a rapper! He’s known as korean’s number 1 rapper!
Nope. Tablo never said he thought his Standford Degree was a burden.
You have your own thoughts, dont put words in an artists mouth
