Girls Generation becomes the face of Girl Scouts

Girlsgeneration_20080128_popseoul

Girls Scouts I know are nothing like the plastic dolls of Girls Generation. They are competent, down to earth and add value to society, while Girls Generation is nothing but nonupulets engineered by father SM. Regardless, Girls Generation will be the face of Korean Girl Scouts for the next year.

Girls Generation Girls Scout poster, which looks like a free add-on from the creators of Super Junior’s movie poster, will be up in all elementary, middle and high school of Korea, excluding all boy schools starting today.

Aside from the rich irony that a blog that serves no purpose other than to gossip about celebrities has the audacity to suggest SNSD adds no value to society, the comments that follow this sad post show what kind of idiots Popseoul’s readership consists of.

    Some examples:
Steph~: “THEIR JUST PLASTIC GIRLS WITH NO TALENT” – Not worth responding whatsoever. At least come up with some original criticism, you dolt.
xoxo: “Yoona’s face is really ugly.” – This is just sad.
Cindel: “I used to be a girl scout, and this is just depressing. It’s about honesty, integrity, hard work and all that good stuff. Uh. And SNSD does not mirror that to me.” – How cute. She thinks her little experience with Girl Scout in elementary can rival all those years SNSD spent training.
nileey: “Do they really need a spokesperson for Girl Scouts? I think it’s so unnecessary…” – Um, Ms know-it-all, obviously Girl Scout Korea would disagree with your amazing insight, since they’ve actually bothered to spent money on spokespersons.

    ^
u are the most depressing one to be even bothered by all of this…

    anyway snsd as girl scout…
hmm maybe next we will have them ringing our doorbell seling sm cookies yummy… <_<
    psh…..

and what is with that gal that is always in front?
should have just promote her instead…

    this is so lame….

Not a fan of SNSD, but what’s wrong with them doing an ad for Girl Scouts to make extra money? Surely at least one of nine SNSD could have been a GS member at sometime for however long. Besides, there’s no law that says a celebrity must use or be a member of something to do an ad for that thing. It’s purely a paid modeling for commercial promotion.

zzoozoo: Your idiotic comment on what you supposedly think Girl Scouts really do…the fact you think it’s only limited to elementary schools shows that you’re the biggest hypocrite and moron of all. Why are you even here if you don’t like to hear simple criticism to your perfect bimbo idols? FYI, Girl Scouts are great contributers to their communities. They actually do meaningful activies and put them to good use, instead of going in front of a camera for self-fame and attnetion.

Wow…SNSD has spent years training…to wear skirts up to their underpants on stage and to have pedophiles drooling over them. Too bad they don’t care about their eduction and all that important stuff. They trained for years to endure scars in their plastic surgery and losing weight. Their voices and faces are really hideous, and they have no talent. I wonder what they will do with their lives when they are 30, 40 years old? Oopps…guess they should’ve gone to school and cracked open a textbook. The fans who worship and obsess over them must be 12 years old and stupider than they are.

  11. 12 GG Suxs January 30, 2008 at 3:36 am

It’s kind of sad that they spent like a decade training…and they are still mediocre talents that need to have nine members to be a mediocre group.

I want the real music and talents on stage, not these fake ass wannabe b*tches.

  12. 13 irees January 30, 2008 at 9:05 am

wow, they’ve spent a decade training? i totally agree with “GG Suxs” (that’s the username… not saying that snsd does…). i’m surprised. i didn’t know that they spent a decade training. i find that kindof sad because they DO have mediocre talents and are in a mediocre group. not to mention, no offense snsd fans, they’re not that pretty either.

OH! AND OHMIGAH! when i first saw the poster, without reading, i immediately thought of suju’s poster! not just their movie poster, but also that one poster promoting their concert with SiWon up front when he’s not even the leader! it’s the same with snsd and yoona being up front all the time!

I found out that there was already a Japanese girl group, Morning Museume, with 8 or 9 members that was around since 1998. It’s the most popular J-pop girl group that sings and dances. Its three leaders visited Seoul last year to promote the group and meet their Korean fans, with a hint of giving a concert in Korea sometime later. I think SM got the idea of forming SNSD after this successful group.

ZZOOzzoo is correct in stating that PopSeoul’s readership does consist of idiots that gain some type of satisfaction from petty, superficial criticism, as evidenced by the numerous replies above this one.
And FYI, I am not at all an SNSD fan. Seems like each and everytime I am redirected to this website, I manage to cringe within minutes.

  15. 16 汚らしいサイト January 30, 2008 at 3:01 pm

Also, Korean Ajusshi, it is spelled Morning Musume.

  16. 17 wow January 30, 2008 at 4:41 pm

lolly: and clearly you’ve never bothered to listen to these girls sing at all.

GG suxs:”I want the real music and talents on stage, not these fake ass wannabe b*tches.” if you dont think girls generation is talented, then i guess you wont recognize “real music and talents” even if they stared at you in the face

  17. 18 tenretni January 31, 2008 at 8:21 pm

wow… haters EVERYWHERE!!! i’m not a fan of girls’ generation, but i don’t agree at all when people say they aren’t talented… those girl have beautiful voices, but what they don’t is interesting songs.. and the whole 900 member group thing iss annoying… They should divide them into 2 groups, cuz no matter the talent 2657 people on one stage is just annoying…Daddy SM is such a fool… or eebabo, pick you fav…

  18. 19 blinkable February 3, 2008 at 9:40 pm

is it a big deal in becoming the face of korean girl scouts?? Just wondering whether girl scouts are very important in korea *LOL*

Thanks for the YT link junsufan

  19. 20 sushi.yang February 8, 2008 at 6:14 am

i think they are pretty good i didn’t know they made a movie cos im not that big of a fan. but you know how they said they are professionally trained? yeah i think they are not that goo yet compared to the other singers in sm but if they work hard their voice would totally be strong! like yoona i like her voice and the girly dance and jumping >_< not to my liking i think they should go to the punk style or be more tomboy-ish like boA. just saying.

  20. 21 Doggy Supreme February 10, 2008 at 2:57 pm

    They look so cute

  21. 22 SUJU May 11, 2008 at 4:31 pm

  22. 23 Aki. June 10, 2008 at 3:08 am

    I like them~
except, I seriously thought they were all 20 [age-wise] x] silly me.

  23. 24 happy days June 14, 2008 at 6:53 am

Seriously, these girls do not fit the discription of Girl’s Scouts at all! The purpose of Girl’s Scouts is to teach young girls self-respect, self-confidence, and independence. SNSD does not qualify for any of that at all! Self-respect? I fail to see self-respect when their popularity comes only from fake smiles and innocence to attract young hormonal boys. Self-confidence? Yes these girls have plenty of that, if it means going on stage and not being embarrassed by the lengths of their skirts. Independence? Face it, their popularity does not come from any talent whatsoever, but rather from (most likely) plastic surgery and basically posing cutely on stage while pretending to sing.
