Jo In Sung lives in a cement closet

20090129-joinsung2

If you’ve ever wondered what type of house the stars lived in-look no further. The effeminate Jo In-sung lives in a cement closet house somewhere in Seoul (likely Kangnam). The exterior looks very cold and uninviting (as with most cement buildings) but the interior is thankfully a little warmer with the natural woods and beige walls. But the place looks so empty and devoid of life. Not a place I would want to live in.

Jo In-sung, is it lonely living in the closet?

Check it out

wow, looks great. how much do you think it goes for?

I think if he was gay like you are suggesting it would of had a more of feminine look than this.

actually … it’s an interesting place. lots of cool angles! i’ll volunteer to keep him company if he’s lonely in that home!!!

I wonder if it is scary when the power goes out.

very masculine and coooooL home for me.. this just proves he’s not what others think he is…

  6. 6 nileey January 30, 2008 at 9:58 am

it’s a very unique house, maybe he is a minimalist

do you think just because they are a movie star and earning pretty good money you think theyre living pretty good life. Reality check ,specially for them its very hard to earn a living because a lot of compitation. For me he still okey at least he has a place that he can call his own.I like him too as an actor.

Guh, I’m so jealous! I love his house – inside and out. Though it looks out of place stuck in what appears to be a back alley.

He is in the making of becoming a recluse (eccentric) star like Zsa Zsa Gabor and Daniel Day Lewis.

the house looks nice interior but outside looks kinda strange and cold.. yeah.. he needs furnitures to make the place look more homey. kinda creepy in a way

i think its freakin beautiful, i dont know what the hell you guys are talking about…it probably looks empty because they want to take a picture of the whole house…I wouldnt mind living in the gorgeous house

  15. 15 arimeh January 30, 2008 at 11:02 am

    Extremely modernist but SO lifeless..
Gives me goosebumps just to think someone can actually live there x-x
I bet my art teacher would love to give us a lecture based on this house XD

    Just my style.

  17. 17 angie January 30, 2008 at 11:15 am

that place is awesome for boutique/office/store
but not for some place we call home

Reinforced concrete post-modern design. It’s all about complexity and contradiction. It’s flat yet not flat. There are no windows yet there are windows. The entrance is not really the entrance. *cough*

  19. 19 Smayi January 30, 2008 at 11:18 am

I’d want to live in that closet.
    It’s gorgeous. Compared to the
overpriced dig hole I live in.

I guess popseoul doesn’t have a taste when it comes to homes. This is what you called “contemporary house”. Although mine is a single family home, everything inside are all well kept. To have these kind of interior design will cost a lot of money here in the US.

  22. 22 Hoeben January 30, 2008 at 11:46 am

Love it, love it, love it. Good choice, Jo. It’s totally cool place to live in. ^_^

  23. 23 sf January 30, 2008 at 11:48 am

looks like a good house to keep out publicity. no obvious windows, doors, or balconies. don’t have to worry about anyone snapping pics outside his bedroom ^_^ all in the middle of a city. smart i’d say.

  24. 24 rach January 30, 2008 at 11:52 am

I actually love his place. I love modern architecture. I like how the architect mixes the straight angles with the subtle curves. It’s a very nice house.

  25. 25 tenretni January 30, 2008 at 12:03 pm

being minimalistic is fine, but don’t be stingy either, depriving your house of furnitures…thats just cruel.. especially to a funky modern house like that… shish

  26. 26 YooYoo January 30, 2008 at 12:05 pm

He has a nice taste! I like his house.

  27. 27 simplyYours January 30, 2008 at 12:05 pm

looks edgy and futurastic to me but do agree, a bit lonely looking. he needs color..perhaps we need to see more of the inside.

  28. 28 Asia January 30, 2008 at 12:23 pm

I would cry if I lived in a place like that.

… Unless Jo In Sun shared the apartment.

it’s empty but with some furnishing, it’ll look nice. I really like the geometric shape of the house in general. I’m sure it’ll look nice if a woman lived there- since the ladies are the ones who like to decorate while the guys dont really care.

  30. 30 Eun. January 30, 2008 at 12:35 pm

I love it. It’s sleek and modern.

  31. 31 MYMY January 30, 2008 at 12:46 pm

Where is the car garage? Or isn’t it a given in a Korean house like his? Just asking. Never been to Korea so I have no idea? But do these celebreties drive even? Or they typically have drivers? Anyone that knows, please answer. Thanks!

  32. 32 Raihana January 30, 2008 at 12:51 pm

i heard he still lives in the same old neighbourhood coz he treasures his old buddies..but that’s a cool house..nothing much inside. It’s ok as long as there’s Jo In Sung..i dont need anything else..

  33. 33 Mut January 30, 2008 at 1:01 pm

    Frank Gehry would be proud

  34. 34 thecolorgreen January 30, 2008 at 1:02 pm

Wow! Very modern, very unique, just my kind of style. I absolutely agree with johnny “the clean minimalistic is awesome”. I wouldn’t mind cohabiting there anytime!

  35. 35 blue January 30, 2008 at 1:11 pm

@tenretni, he’s not being stingy…this is the whole point to the concept of a contemporary house. i really like it

  36. 36 ed January 30, 2008 at 1:12 pm

that big beautiful house hasn’t been broken in yet. just like jo.

  37. 37 for real January 30, 2008 at 1:14 pm

as an architecture designer, this house isn’t much of a show-off. it’s just your everyday concrete and glass blocks, nothing particularly great

  38. 38 Korean Ajusshi January 30, 2008 at 1:29 pm

    I like it, too.

  39. 41 Anne January 30, 2008 at 2:05 pm

Would never live in that house.

  40. 42 uhm January 30, 2008 at 2:32 pm

that’s cool… not effeminate like you think he is…
unique architecture must be cost a lot of money & it shows that he has a hugh taste…

  41. 43 nikki January 30, 2008 at 2:42 pm

    ahhh…it screams solitude..i love it!

  42. 44 cherry_o January 30, 2008 at 2:56 pm

that’s quite a piece of architecture…very futuristic. maybe he’s afraid the wind will blow down his house.

  43. 45 daneil January 30, 2008 at 3:38 pm

    it looks really nice.

  44. 46 Bookchicken January 30, 2008 at 3:44 pm

I love it! It would be reaaallly beautiful if it’s near a beach or somewhere on a hill… :D Plus a beautiful sunset! :P

  45. 47 lilkrnxangel420 January 30, 2008 at 4:25 pm

that place looks so cool! and he is freaking HOT

  46. 48 R. Kelly January 30, 2008 at 4:39 pm

Not a lot of windows. Guess he and his boyfriend need solitude.

  47. 49 saragnayan January 30, 2008 at 5:22 pm

    just my kind of space!

  48. 50 jrizzle January 30, 2008 at 5:32 pm
