Fact or Fiction? Cassiopeias on Guinness World Records

Dbsk_200801_popseoul

Reports that Cassiopeias, DBSK’s loyal fans, made it on the 2008 Guinness World Records as the largest fan group of an artist with 800,000 members started to spread early today, with many forums and bloggers reporting the “news.” But I have yet to see anything official confirming this glory to the Cassiopeias.

So is this fact or fiction?

If this is in fact true, then this is a huge slap on the face to the super mob aka Super Junior. They have more than twice the members and they failed to gather twice as many fans. No wonder the Elves have no weight with SM in their battle to prevent addition of new members in Super Junior.

And if this turns out to be fiction, we know who has the craziest fanbase out there.

So what do you think? Did Cassiopeias really get on Guinness World Records or is this just another case of fans gone wild?

Fact or Fiction: Cassiopeias on Guinness World Records
1) Fact - DBSK has the largest fan base

2) Fiction - Cassiopeias must be bored today

3) Don’t care

  2. 2 Yuki February 5, 2008 at 12:20 pm

Hm…I’ve seen that floating around too…
Hopefully there’s gonna be some sort of confirmation^^

  3. 3 DB February 5, 2008 at 12:25 pm

    yea its true.
Those only count the official members too. If you were to add in the unofficial members.. :o

  4. 4 janepak February 5, 2008 at 12:27 pm

i don’t really care, but it’d be pretty cool for them lol

  5. 5 Whatever February 5, 2008 at 12:30 pm

Where is that damn book, I’m just going to go look it up and see if it’s true.

  6. 6 Nessa February 5, 2008 at 12:31 pm

It has been confirmed by people on the DBSG LiveJournal community. If they’d included the Japanese BigEast fanclub, they would probably have well over 1 million members. :3

  7. 7 jyyjc February 5, 2008 at 12:33 pm

it’s true. this makes me so proud of dbsk :) and cassiopeia. and if they were to count the unofficial members from other parts of the world…that’s like..whoa.

  8. 8 hiyono February 5, 2008 at 12:37 pm

i think its totally possible. probably even over 1 million! think of the fans in america and europe not just asia.

check the guinness world site? im gonna do that now and see :D

  9. 9 DEO February 5, 2008 at 12:38 pm

Not until it’s officially confirmed but I wouldn’t be surprised. It would be pretty good if the boys made into the book.

  10. 10 susan February 5, 2008 at 12:39 pm

    lol. it’s a fact.
send a message to textperts in the UK and cass is the answer they give you.

it is not in the 2008 edition so don’t bother looking. whether or not it’s in the 2009 edition, no one knows yet.

  11. 11 Jini February 5, 2008 at 12:40 pm
  12. 12 Whatever February 5, 2008 at 12:45 pm

    Nice, then.
Nothing to scoff at at all. :)
Go DBSK and JJ’s pretty face. (kidding! kidding!)

  13. 13 Jackie February 5, 2008 at 12:51 pm

yeah its been confirmed several places
you wont see it in this years book because its gonna come out in the new edition

  14. 14 Lydia February 5, 2008 at 12:52 pm

where can I buy this book.. everyone’s always talking about the book.. but where is there an official site.. this is cool though

  15. 15 torias February 5, 2008 at 12:54 pm

lol, they are the best in every thing

  16. 16 Whatever February 5, 2008 at 1:03 pm

Hey, someone tell me please — is Cassiopeia only in Korea, or is it the global fan club? I tried going to the site, but uh…I don’t know Korean.

  17. 17 cherry_o February 5, 2008 at 1:05 pm

fanclubs are not really that big of a deal in America…people are fans, but they don’t joing fanclubs…so yea, it’s possible that TVXQ has the most members in an official fanclub….poor people just make unofficial clubs and call themselves fans.

  18. 18 lalala February 5, 2008 at 1:08 pm

    yeah seriously,
even if i didn’t see this report, i was thinking to myself for a while now that DBSK seriously has a HUGEEEEEEE fanbase…

and SERIOUSLY, not just in Korea or japan, but ALL over the world.
i hear they have like “dbsk days” or “junsu day” for his birthday celebration all over the world even in like Peru.. lol

wow, i mean, i guess i’m not surprised though, DBSK is pretty damn good

  19. 19 byul1232 February 5, 2008 at 1:11 pm

    1. where has it been confirmed? a dbsk site? cus thats not a confirmation…

    2. if it was true, it would be ALL OVER the korean websites because something like this would become a pride thing for Korea.

    3. why doesn’t guinness book of records have it written on their site?

  20. 20 valxuan February 5, 2008 at 1:12 pm

    i think its true…n i believe its true too…

  21. 21 ohgeeze. February 5, 2008 at 1:15 pm

    It’s true.
It’s going to be in 2009 thought.

“They have more than twice the members and they failed to gather twice as many fans.”.
That made me laugh way hard.
I love your sarcasm towards Super Junior.
    It’s true though, that’s pathetic.

  22. 22 dandelionss February 5, 2008 at 1:27 pm

    uh lmao wtf!?!?

  23. 23 Nameless February 5, 2008 at 1:33 pm

I dont think its the 2008 .. i have the guiness world book at home .. and its 2008 , theres nothing regarding TVXQ.. maybe they’re adding it onto 2009

  24. 24 mIcHeLlE-LuVz-KaNgIn February 5, 2008 at 1:34 pm

omg!!!!!!!!! i’m sure it’s true! dbsk is hot. except

  25. 25 junsu(DBSK)fan February 5, 2008 at 1:37 pm

Yes it’s true, it’s in the Guinness World Records Book (2009 i guess)..i’m going to get one!! XD

  26. 26 APRIL February 5, 2008 at 1:45 pm

oh lord….imagine all the red ballons

  27. 27 nikki February 5, 2008 at 1:52 pm

    hahaha april

  28. 28 Idril February 5, 2008 at 1:56 pm

true or not, this cracks me up!

  29. 29 fi0naLee February 5, 2008 at 2:24 pm

if it is all over asia, this could be a fact. i wouldn’t be surprised if this is true though. they have become very popular all throughout asia, as well as in some non-asian countries. go dong bang!!!

  30. 30 Seeny February 5, 2008 at 2:28 pm

lol @ “have more than twice the members and they failed to gather twice as many fans”
it’s definitely true that dbsk has more fans than suju. waayyy more fans.

and if it’s true, the Guinness thing would be awesome.

  31. 31 LMAO February 5, 2008 at 2:36 pm

i don’t even think cassiopeia knows this yet, but it’s been confirmed by an official online source.
and just ’cause they’ve got a big fanclub doesn’t mean all the fans are crazy.

“They have more than twice the members and they failed to gather twice as many fans.”
    uh, your point?

  32. 32 kimmie February 5, 2008 at 2:38 pm

    yeah…i think it’s true…
but like what cherry_o says, official fans clubs arent really big in America or Europe or australia so yeah.
With Cassiopeia, to join i think you have to put down your address and quite a lot of personal details…so yeah what about the fans from europe, america and other further away places? there probably is about a million of us…

    congrats DBSK!

  33. 33 HL February 5, 2008 at 2:54 pm

well they are pretty damn good <3 recently, i saw clips of fan in peru O_O they had all these dbsk things, it was quite an unbelievable sight to me. i’m getting myself the 2009 edition.

  34. 34 spladeeda February 5, 2008 at 2:55 pm

some how this just doesn’t surprise me, seeing that artist in the u.s. don’t really have an official fanclub like those in korea

  35. 35 happykpoplover February 5, 2008 at 2:58 pm

I believe it. That’s why everyone is afraid of offending Cassies, there’s 800,000 members to beat down your ass if you ever mess with their beloved DBSK. And yes, i admit it I am an unofficial one.

  36. 36 yokit February 5, 2008 at 3:13 pm

way to go DBSK! congratulations cassiopeia!
i’m also still looking for official confirmation from guinness book website.

  37. 37 marmar February 5, 2008 at 3:15 pm

look just because he was confirm on a DBSK website does not mean it’s true.
It’s true when guinness website or the book has it written down then we will know it’s true.

So at this moment it’s just being spread around as a rumor.

  38. 38 marmar February 5, 2008 at 3:15 pm

^ I meant it not he

  39. 39 jjiyul♥ February 5, 2008 at 3:19 pm

It’s been confirmed that DBSK does have the largest fanbase in the world.. but they’ve only counted for the official Cassiopeia members; AKA the one’s who are legit and has the official passes and everything.

They still haven’t counted Bigeast, which is the DBSK fanbase from Japan. Then again, they haven’t counted the unofficial members yet either. It wouldnt be possible to come up with how many fans the boys have. There are seriously no limits.

Anyway. It’s not in the issue of GWR2008. But it has been confirmed and will possibly be in the 2009 edition.

  40. 40 Jennifer February 5, 2008 at 3:20 pm

    ~*~*I wouldn’t doubt it one bit!!*~*~

    Much Love!

  41. 41 jjiyul♥ February 5, 2008 at 3:23 pm

    Just to clear things up,

It has been comfirmed OFFICIALLY because some have already contacted the officials and they have been told that yes, DBSK does hold the largest fanbase in the world.

  42. 42 Masaya February 5, 2008 at 3:27 pm

Yes the power of Cassiopeia is never so apparent. They can easily flatten the SM bldg into a pancake if they want to. LSM has a lot to fear.

  43. 43 Minny February 5, 2008 at 3:28 pm

That makes me so happy. Congrats to DBSK!!!
I am a Cassiopeia member…well an unofficial one, but still lol.

  44. 44 Junli Wei February 5, 2008 at 3:53 pm

    YAHOOO!! haha! im soo happy!!
dong bang shin ki is the best!!! yeah yeah!!

  45. 45 l0l February 5, 2008 at 3:54 pm

I wouldn’t doubt it. If you point to a random person on the streets of Korea, it’ll probably be a DBSK fan.

    Damn those pretty boys!

  46. 46 kris February 5, 2008 at 4:10 pm

I was surprised to hear the news at first too ‘cos it’s like WOW? Heh, anyway, it’s a fact (:

  47. 47 PEP February 5, 2008 at 4:49 pm

DBSK does have a lot of fans BUT i also wonder if some of these Cassiopeians registered numerous accounts on the fanclub, since some of them are quite overly “enthusisastic”

  48. 48 PEP February 5, 2008 at 4:50 pm

    i mean “Enthusiastic”

  49. 49 Eugene February 5, 2008 at 4:54 pm

    Yay!
    Go TVXQ!!
    I think its true:]
    And I’m not surprised either…

    Must get a 2009 edition

  50. 50 T February 5, 2008 at 5:46 pm

“DBSK does have a lot of fans BUT i also wonder if some of these Cassiopeians registered numerous accounts on the fanclub, since some of them are quite overly “enthusisastic””

To be an official Cassiopeian… it’s not a simple matter of filling out a registration form and you’re a member. Members have to register again EVERY year.. and pay the membership fee, which is about $60USD.

  51. 51 xoxo February 5, 2008 at 6:15 pm

it must be true.. there are a lot of cassiopeians..

  52. 52 R. Kelly February 5, 2008 at 6:22 pm

I’m guessing it’s true. Korean women love faggoty men, and their aint no better example of faggotry then DBSK!

    Congratulations! DBSK #1!

  53. 53 mika February 5, 2008 at 6:27 pm

    who was the previous holder?
I’m still not believing this though coz it’s better to really read it in the book.
It could just be wishful thinking you know… nothing against DBSK since I’m a fan…

  54. 54 Bhie February 5, 2008 at 6:33 pm

Yes, DBSK DOES have a large fanbase. And since their debut, they have acheived so many things.

I’m a fan, not listed in the fanclubs because they don’t have one (SM fanclub keeps saying ‘coming soon’ and when it IS open, it’s only open for a limited time).

But I’m a bit skeptical about them going down in history as having the largest fanbase. I’ve read about this two days ago at an unofficial forum, and it STILL doesn’t mention (anywhere) WHERE it’s listed that they’re in the GWR. Searching the site doesn’t help any, however you type your search.

“And if this turns out to be fiction, we know who has the craziest fanbase out there” <- yes, some Cassiopeias ARE crazy aren’t they… lol.. (no offense, but really, some of them ARE!)

Whether this is a fact or fiction, I’m happy that they have so many fans supporting their music..

  55. 55 penguin_x3 February 5, 2008 at 6:47 pm

lmao @ R. Kelly…i agree with you, sort of…although I am a fan of these boys I think their just kind of too overrated(though I am deeply in love with Changmin because he’s so quiet and not so into the camera like the other boys)…I think they sould have only one official fansite for all country and what not so that they can all be cassa whatever and not have as many, cause then it’s going to get confusing in the names, like what of they shout out to the cassas but not the other ones…?

ps…if GBR has this up then its pretty lame IMO, because theres way more interesting things out there than the biggest fanbase in the world..

and again…i was/am a fan just not a crazy in love, their going to take over the world type of fan…

  56. 56 rimsky February 5, 2008 at 7:29 pm

i’m a cassiopeia! hehe, not really, i’m an e.l.f. but i like dong bang also. and i believe this.

  57. 57 shopversion February 5, 2008 at 7:40 pm

    haha to the elves

  58. 58 Annie February 5, 2008 at 7:47 pm

Cassopeia and ELF should get in the Guinness World Records for most violent and ridiculous fans.

  59. 59 T February 5, 2008 at 7:51 pm

“Cassopeia and ELF should get in the Guinness World Records for most violent and ridiculous fans.”

You’ve never seen European soccer fans, have you?

  60. 60 eli February 5, 2008 at 8:20 pm

its proven true by some people.

  61. 61 jOLyN February 5, 2008 at 8:23 pm

    is verify!!!!!!
    chukadurihamnida!!!!!
i noe u guys can do it!!!!!!
    congrats!!!!

  62. 62 Afruz February 5, 2008 at 8:35 pm

Owh, Popseoul, you should have compared DBSK fanbase with Elvis Presley fanbase.

Cassiopeia broke the world record of the largest artist fanbase with 800.000 registered members.

According to Guinness World Records, previous record was Elvis Presleys fanbase, there are more than 613 active Elvis Presley fan clubs worldwide, with a total membership of 510,489.

  63. 63 gagamita February 5, 2008 at 8:42 pm

i think that DBSK has more than 1 million fans and they should get in Guiness ’cause they are the fans of the BEST GROUP EVER DBSK!

  64. 64 Aya February 5, 2008 at 9:02 pm

I hate to break it to you, but 800k may seem big for korea, which doesnt even have 800k in the population, but I think there were millions in BSB fangroups.

  65. 65 Afruz February 5, 2008 at 9:04 pm

If you want to reconfirm it for yourself and
if you are lucky enough to live in UK,

go to http://www.texperts.com/about/partners/gwr and type your question. This is an official texperts of Guinness World Records website.
But make sure to ask, Cassiopeia 2008 record.

I guess, texperts already become way too busy to reply UK Cass!

    Go Cassiopeia!

  66. 66 Afruz February 5, 2008 at 9:09 pm

    Aya

South Korea has Population: 49,044,790 (July 2007 est.)

It was said 30% of SK (female? -> 50% of total population) population is at least DBSK listener.

And this is not only about local Cassiopeia, but Global Cassiopeia including Bigeast and other countries.

    I think it is believable

  67. 67 Afruz February 5, 2008 at 9:30 pm

    POPSEOUL

you can gather more information about the discussion of Cassiopeia about this new with pretty much skeptically
at DBSK soompi forums part 2

    http://www.soompi.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=116413&st=34709

starting from page 1737 with the first post about it crediting the first news source as Cassiopeia HK.

Because there was no official statment from SM or Avex, DBSK soompiers discussed this and still discussing.
DBSK never lets Cass get bored :) Never!

  68. 68 May February 5, 2008 at 9:46 pm

I remember reading this in Soompi. someone said ELvis has several millions as stated in the Guinness book 1997.

  69. 69 Afruz February 5, 2008 at 9:48 pm

    May

According to Guinness World Records, previous record was Elvis Presleys fanbase, there are more than 613 active Elvis Presley fan clubs worldwide, with a total membership of 510,489.

  70. 70 keke February 5, 2008 at 9:50 pm

    yes it’s true
    lol
and that’s only counting the official members of Cassiopeia
I wonder how man fans there would be if you count the unofficial ones too ….
    lol
    scary to think about……

  71. 71 Arie February 5, 2008 at 10:04 pm

“You’ve never seen European soccer fans, have you?”
    @T: Awwww~ Common, we’re not THAT bad XP~

Anyway, yep, it’s true, I can already see ELFs plotting against Cassies lol
But seriously, this is like… REALLY REALLY huge o-ov
I mean… DBSKs fanbase his bigger than international stars!
I mean, sure they are really popular over Asia and they are known in America, Europe, etc… but comparing to those huge american stars… WOW! Those boys totally rocked their faces off XD

I’m happy for them, I hope they’d debute here in Europe =P

  72. 72 b0mii February 5, 2008 at 10:15 pm

it`s a fact but true how come no official news.. but still DBSK deserves this!!!!!!!!!

  73. 73 Whatever February 5, 2008 at 10:23 pm

I think some of you guys are misconstruing some things…O.O

DBSK has a ton of fans, no doubt, I love each and every one of them myself, but…It’s largest official fanclub, and a lot of stars simply don’t bother with them…last I checked, Angelina Jolie doesn’t have an official fanclub, and neither does…um…Hannah Montana. I can’t speak for other countries, because I don’t know, but I don’t think the US fans really care about such things either.

  74. 74 Whatever February 5, 2008 at 10:24 pm

*each and every one of them referring to DBSK. Not the fans. Oh god, no.

  75. 75 ayoe February 5, 2008 at 11:11 pm

    WOOOWWWWW…

    Ich haette nicht erwartet….

  76. 76 nat2JJ February 5, 2008 at 11:14 pm

    i think it’s amazing!!!
they just look the official member
how the fans non official member?
i think it can be milion fans!!!
    TVXQ Fighting!!!

  77. 77 ajumma February 5, 2008 at 11:39 pm

The significance here isn’t just the number of fans. The significance here is the number of fans who are hardcore enough to pay the yearly fee to stay in a fanclub in order to follow activities, support DBSK and such.

  78. 78 tangy February 5, 2008 at 11:53 pm

    i agree with aya
    800,000 doesn’t seem like a lot
i’m sure there are other artists with like millions of fans for a fan base

    but anyways….go dongbang ^.^

  79. 79 insa123 February 5, 2008 at 11:56 pm

i’ve only known them for about a month and a half, and i have to admit I LOVE THEM.
not just because they undoubtedly CAN sing live
    or that they have looks
or, the fact that they have charming personalities..
IMHO, they are DIFFERENT from most celebrities nowadays, really unique.heh.
and this fact or fiction thingy,
even IF it’s not in the book,
I do BELIEVE, our boys have the largest fan base…
    that’s a FACT.
    period.

    Good Day Everyone! (^_^)

  80. 80 Mizh February 6, 2008 at 12:22 am

I totally believe this. I’m an un official fan. and in my school you’ll see atleast 5~13 fans in each classes. I swear. 5~13! this is just my school. imagine the other schools in other countries (I’m just talking about the unofficial fans) official fans = 800,000 fans. unofficial = ?????. official + unofficial= ???!?!?!?! I can’t imagine. and I totally agree that not ALL cassiopeias are CRAZY.

  81. 81 ......... February 6, 2008 at 12:42 am

lol there are like 800 thousand + fans out there
and even less than half of that is crazy…
ops i mean fanatic fan or should i say devoted fan…
    hm….

i only will believe on it when it is printed in the book
or at least some official statement from the guiness side…

    like it matter…
    not really

i just wanna see how many people would bash my post after this…

  82. 82 lovingkyuhyunnie February 6, 2008 at 12:42 am

oh shut up popseoul.. haha true, DBSK does sell more CD because they were here longer.. haha but yeahh..

  83. 83 angel26_j February 6, 2008 at 1:17 am

    R u serious????
But considering Asia itself is a huge pop… plus those who are not in asia… like me.. >_<
if they only count those actual cassiopeia members…. then adding those who are not members… thats huge
    Woahhh…. 800,000????
    Maybe its a fact… a surprising fact

  84. 84 Blahblahbon February 6, 2008 at 1:22 am

Erm, wow…What a thing to be proud of.
    Doesn’t make them better fans.
10,000 psychos, or 5,000 sane fans?
What bothers me is it makes them look like they’re so much better than everyone else…once again. Who cares about the size of your fanbase when they’re all crazy?

  85. 85 ihavenolife February 6, 2008 at 1:42 am

aww…come on. there are plenty of sane fans.

you might not approve of the crazy ones, but why not be happy for cassiopeians in general and dbsk?

    hearts for DBSK.
    your fans are everywhere guys!

  86. 86 miss February 6, 2008 at 2:18 am

For those who are saying “who cares” and “it’s not a big deal” or whatever. Uh, hello, it’s the Guinness World Record, who cares about half of the things they put in there?

  87. 87 E February 6, 2008 at 2:47 am

    @ LMAO
I think the point was that Super Junior sucks and can’t beat DBSK in popularity even if they have more members…..I don’t quite agree I really like both groups, sure I prefer DBSK, but SJ is okay too. They may not be the greatest singers but they’re funny. Oh, and about the book I think it might be possible although I wouldn’t go buying the book just for that….then again I wouldn’t buy the book anyways.

  88. 88 Natalie February 6, 2008 at 3:18 am

I wouldn’t be atall suprised if this were true…n yeah I think they were sayin SuJus crap lol but I like both groups…dbsks better but i still ike suju, they make me laugh xD

  89. 89 Korean Ajusshi February 6, 2008 at 4:06 am

DBSK is definitely more talented and experienced than SuJu. But, most of all, it’s not a freakin’ ridiculous 13 K-pop choirboys, like SuJu.

  90. 90 Reina February 6, 2008 at 4:20 am

    i thin these is true
and even thought im a suju fan
i know suju cant win over TVXQ

  91. 91 Blahblahbon February 6, 2008 at 4:51 am

    ihavenolife…
    Alright, I’ll be fair.
Congratulations to the TWO sane fans.
Seriously, I understand some are sane…but the majority are not.

  92. 92 May February 6, 2008 at 5:07 am

hmm…I just think 800,000 is such a petty number, considering all the other world stars.

  93. 93 resabambino February 6, 2008 at 5:19 am

    Sucks to be them.

  94. 94 Q February 6, 2008 at 5:44 am

“They have more than twice the members and they failed to gather twice as many fans.”

That is pretty sad. Lee Soo Man grouped all of the talented trainees into DBSK and the leftovers were used to form Super Junior.

  95. 95 Blahblahbon February 6, 2008 at 5:59 am

    ^LMAO

Funniest part is I actually like SJ, not DBSK.

  96. 96 FimFim February 6, 2008 at 6:58 am

Fact is, they’ve got the biggest fan base “on record” ONLY BECAUSE most ASIAN artists (especially in Korea like DBSK) take OFFICIAL FAN CLUBS seriously. I think if Angelina Jolie built an official Fans Club where all her fans should register she’d be on TOP. HAHA!

  97. 97 FimFim February 6, 2008 at 7:06 am

And maybe if you refer to musicians alone, it could be MADONNA, U2 or someone else.

Fact is DBSK hasn’t conquered the international market, they’re only popular amongst internet users, and not with the general public.

  98. 98 Kristina February 6, 2008 at 7:31 am

It’s irrelevant, but Jaejoong is too sexy.

  99. 99 -kumori- February 6, 2008 at 7:46 am

*lol* - DBSK has more fans, because it’s longer in the business than SuJu boys - sold more CDs, went to tours, gained popularity in other countries by singing songs in other languages & they also r great performers and some there r even handsome..

I think it’s fact [!] - DBSK has the biggest fan.base in the world. but - why not [?]..
it’s not the end of the world, because a band got hyper.much fans. I’m not reading that book anyway, so I don’t really care about that stuff. ~

..not all their fans r crazy, just the crazy.one jump out of the crowd easier. the sane people stand in the side and enjoy the insane show.

    congratulations DongBang [!] ..

  100. 100 DBlove February 6, 2008 at 8:08 am

I know that having a biggest fanclub in the world doesn’t mean they have the most supporters. But don’t compare DB boys with some international stars like Angelina Jolie or Justin Timblake because they are in different situations. If they had white skins and grew up in the States, they might be more popular and have more fans (?)

What makes me really proud of DB boys is their achivement. Recently, I watched some very old clips of them, they said many targets (like want to be big in Asia) and years pass by, we know that they didn’t state it for fun. Now I heard some of their new targets and I know that they can achive them step by step. I believe they could go much further in the future.

Sorry for my bad English and long post.

  101. 101 bomi February 6, 2008 at 8:51 am

    omg seriously???
    go cassiopedia!!^^

  102. 102 Whatever February 6, 2008 at 8:53 am

They are in different situations, DBlove. I’m extremely happy for them, they’re like…my favorite music people right now. (Well…either them, or NEWS. But let’s not get into that right now).

The only time anyone has compared them to international stars is in response to people saying they have the largest fan base in the world…fan CLUB, yeah, ok, but fan BASE, I severely doubt. It’s still a great accomplishment…

  103. 103 classicaldancer February 6, 2008 at 9:14 am

oh yay there WAS an article written! thanks popseoul….and of course it’s fact :)

It’s going to be in the 2008 edition by the way. congratulations to them. this is not including the bigeast fans and all the fans not part of fan clubs out there. so kudos to cassiopeia on organization and pulling together such a large group! and it’s true what they say…once you’re a dbsk fan, you’re ALWAYS as dbsk fan :)

    DBSK <3 and congratulations!

  104. 104 Masaya February 6, 2008 at 9:23 am

heh… international stars? It just means those stars are from the US. If DBSK makes it in the US they’ll be international stars but really they have fans everywhere around the globe.

  105. 105 tomoko February 6, 2008 at 9:38 am

ah, i love Dong Bang Shin Ki!

if only their fans weren’t so scary.

i wonder what would happen if one of the members of TVXQ were to get a girlfriend…? what would the Cassiopeias do?

  106. 106 Q February 6, 2008 at 9:55 am

    ^ Mass suicide?

  107. 107 tomoko February 6, 2008 at 10:00 am

    ^

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

    that just made my day.

  108. 108 Cassidy February 6, 2008 at 10:33 am

800 000 members?! That’s a lot! Congrats to them, I guess, lol. And I’m not surprised. They’re notorious! And they have been around longer than Super Junior. I think it’s also easier to like smaller groups rather than huge ones.

  109. 109 ange February 6, 2008 at 11:03 am

    Ah!!!!
that group is deserving to be in the book because they’ve got the largest fan group. Expecting that thing.

  110. 110 jjiyul♥ February 6, 2008 at 11:54 am

Some people are mentioning that DBSK only won and is listed in the GWB is because of the fact that other stars like Angelina Jolie or whoever didnt start up their own fanclubs.

That’s too damn bad then. They should’ve started their own fanclubs to make a go at breaking a record too. But with Cassiopeia out there, I don’t think anyone would stand a chance with DBSK.

  111. 111 wish February 6, 2008 at 12:19 pm

since pple stated that DBSK has the biggest fanbase in Asia then what happen to Rain? his fanbase should be much bigger isnt

and those crazy Cass actually SPEND their money to registered ever year to be member and not counting more money on the boys bdays, special celebration day and more make up day to celebrate
    NOw that’s is craziiiiieestttt fanbase

Suju fans more subtle and Suju hasnt spread their wings to Asia yet so cant compare

Im not DBSK or Suju fans. Im my own fan ahahahahha

  112. 112 kk89 February 6, 2008 at 12:45 pm

lol if one of the dong bang boys got married…. the 400,000 cassiopeias would commit suicide and the other half would go after the wife….*sigh*

  113. 113 mmmarie February 6, 2008 at 1:13 pm

dont ever EVER compare dbsk to suju… suju has debuted two years ago yet dbsk has debuted a couple more years ahead of them. after 4 years, dbsk has gathered 800,000 fans and still counting but is this suju’s 4th year already??? besides dbsk has been all over the places, promoting stuff.. theyve been so active in 4 consecutive years. and what about suju? suju needed 1 year and 4 months break cause of the unseen tragic events. popseoul’s being an a**hole again for bringing up suju when this is article is supposed to just talk about the POWER OF CASSIOPEIA! gee, you seriously need to grow up, you 50-year old people!

and yes the power of cassiopeia is still unbeatable<3

  114. 114 tomoko February 6, 2008 at 1:15 pm

i think its sad to say… Cassiopeias would support a coupling between the members themselves rather than a coupling with a girl. (-_-)

  115. 115 mmmarie February 6, 2008 at 1:15 pm

just like wish said: “Suju hasnt spread their wings to Asia yet so cant compare”.

arrgh im soo mad cuz popseoul is not being soo effing reasonable. he/she just had to bring up suju just for the sake of “hating” them.

  116. 116 ceria February 6, 2008 at 1:16 pm

when I posted that on livejournal it turned into a huge uproar lol.
Then we started having doubts but a young lady from UK was able to text them and got the reply that the Asia group tvxq had the largest fanclub

  117. 117 Kitsune February 6, 2008 at 4:10 pm

    GREAT!!

    DBSK HWAITING!!

    I wanna be a Cassiopeia
    but is so expensive X_x

expensive subscripcion x 800,000 official members
    = a lot of money!!

    it could be cheaper!

  118. 118 idiot February 6, 2008 at 5:41 pm

    why am i not surprised???

  119. 119 idiot February 6, 2008 at 5:45 pm

    oh one more thing….
DON’T DIS ON MY SUJU BOIZ
AND ITS TRUE WHAT THE OTHER SAID UP THERE
THEY DID DEBUT AFTER DBSK SO OF COURSE DBSK IS MORE POPULAR THAN SUJU….
    IT’S COMMON SENSE DUDE…D-U-D-E
and you know what…i laugh at you becuz u diss on the elves too…
you might as not run into one of them…becuz if you do…
oooo man i wouldn’t know what they’ll do to your ass
    always dissing on their boiz….
    pathetic lame loser u

  120. 120 Lin February 6, 2008 at 7:21 pm

that is simply amazing! but i’m really disappointed since they had 800,000 fans but only sold around 350,000 O albums
    it just doesn’t make sense

  121. 121 PEP February 6, 2008 at 7:26 pm

Errr I did state that they were “overly enthusiastic” didnt I? Which could probably mean they wouldn’t hesistate to fork out more than 120 bucks to register every year

  122. 122 blinkable February 6, 2008 at 11:22 pm

altho i jus read dont dis on my suju boys i still wana say the popseoul comment on suju’s failure to garner more official fans than TVXQ reli funny XD

Congrats to TVXQ and all the Cassiopeians be it official or non official <333

  123. 123 gtfo_fangirl February 7, 2008 at 1:56 pm

lol@elves making sorry excuses for the failure of suju boys (don’t get me wrong i love the eye candy even though he can’t act or sing to save his life) .

Its so funny how people always makes excuses, and lol@E.L.F and ShinwaChangjo, they must be tearing their eyes out of anger because of this Guiness thingo (at least in soompi they are LOL), which isn’t actually that huge of a deal, official fanclubs are only a big deal on Asia is not like dongBang-BB are super popular in the whole world lol.

I sent my text message too to textperts to show it to my shinhwa fangirl friend, she was sooo pissed off (and they say cassiopeia are lunatics, only cos shinhwa changjo are silent murderers ahaha xD)

  124. 124 gtfo_fangirl February 7, 2008 at 2:02 pm

    @ Wish
“Since pple stated that DBSK has the biggest fanbase in Asia then what happen to Rain? his fanbase should be much bigger isnt”

Nope. Rain isn’t really popular now tbh, is something like Boa, everyone knows them but is not like everyone is ‘fan’ of them.

“and those crazy Cass actually SPEND their money to registered ever year to be member and not counting more money on the boys bdays, special celebration day and more make up day to celebrate
    NOw that’s is craziiiiieestttt fanbase”

Which planet are you from? You think KooKoo-pea are the only ones doing that? ALL korean fangirls do those stuff.

“Suju fans more subtle and Suju hasnt spread their wings to Asia yet so cant compare

Im not DBSK or Suju fans. Im my own fan ahahahahha”

No, you are an E.L.F in disguise, but we can see right tru you -,- . Because you can really call elves ’subtle’ when they do their Riot thingos outside SM building or when they kill push to suicide random girls. And if you think that’s subtle you should really really really worried about your mental sanity.

    =x

  125. 125 Jangmi February 8, 2008 at 7:31 am

Oh that’s cool for them (and dbsk) if its true ^^

But one thing, why compare Suju’s fan to Dbsk’s one ? why compare DBSK & Suju?
Super junior has been there for only 2 years, they are focused only on S.Korea for the moment so why bring the Elves into this article??
If you are hating them, then just hate but don’t say nonesense like this….

Anyway Suju & DBSK fighting ^^

  126. 126 jOLyN February 8, 2008 at 10:14 pm

cassiopeia really did a lot for TVXQ..
    im a TVXQ fans…
    n
i like them cuz they r really talented…
    n 800k is juz registered!!!
how bout the one not registered?????

im proud to b in it!!!!
TVXQ r getting more world recognition from year to year

n stop comparing SJ n TVXQ..
    is not fair…

    n
    congrats oppa!!
i noe u guys can do it
    chukahaeyo!!!

  127. 127 dana February 10, 2008 at 2:37 pm

Who would be surprise?! they are just the best in everything…would you even be surprise, if one day they will be considered as the Best Boyband in the world…they’re actually getting there^^

I wonder when their success will stop…not that I want to…

Oh well…I’m not a Cassiopeian and will never be one…but I love my DBSK =3……………….^^

  128. 128 razilia February 11, 2008 at 2:39 am

I wanna believe it’s a fact…and to consider that there are still a lot of us not registered from around the world. But I do hope the official details about this will come out very soon.

  129. 129 hmmm February 11, 2008 at 6:10 pm

    dbsk is too conservative

super junior is funnier and they show more personality…whether they’re real or fake

as for the fans, it’s crazy to waste money just to be in the fanbase. America doesn’t have those stuff…I don’t think haha

  130. 130 ihavenolife February 11, 2008 at 6:42 pm

but funny-ness is not the only reason why DBSK gets fans. they’re actually pretty funny most of the time, but we love them cause of so many other reasons.

Just because fan clubs don’t exist in the states doesn’t mean their stupid or meaningless. 800 000 registered members is pretty awesome, regardless of anything else.

If people can spend money buying concert merchandise, or fan merchandise for anything else like sports, i don’t see how it’s stupid.

For cassiopeians, it’s a show of support.
If the elves managed this, i’m sure you’d be happy about the accomplishment just as much as cassiopeians are in this case.

  131. 131 haha February 12, 2008 at 6:13 pm

Yeah I know what you mean lol. As for the elves accomplishing these things…I dont think I would care so much for it haha these stuff are not really a big deal in the U.S. anyways.

  132. 132 juliezarene February 13, 2008 at 3:26 pm

i believed this so hopefully but then…

me and my friends already scanned every bit of the book but no DBSK word can be seen wherever you may search it!!!

i totally believe that there are so many fans and i am totally one of them but please don’t disappoint us.. i’m depressed already!

loving DBSK still! hope this is true though…

    conclusion: ugh. fiction

  133. 133 sushi.yang February 16, 2008 at 5:47 pm

i never thought they put such thing in the Guinness world record. hahahaha guess i need to open my eyes moer lols

Why u calling SUJU “super mob” gosh, RESPECT!! ha i bet u dont even have any. at least suju is still getting to be known they’ve only been here for two years i think and dbsk is 5 now.

gosh, it’s been that long already? no wonder they have they most fans *nods* yeaps. DBSK is the what i call TRUE IDOLS. they got everything and can do anything!

so i do think it is true but i need to check i’m not really into those guinness world record. even though i knew people trying to break a record.

  134. 134 --- February 17, 2008 at 2:18 pm

  137. 137 ahhh February 23, 2008 at 8:33 am

someone said dbsk is too conservative and suju are the funny guys? i don’t think they’re too conservative…they’re serious when they work and they have fun when they’re not on camera. that’s how professionals are.

i’m not saying i don’t like suju’s playfulness or anything, but i think they’re mainly popular because of the silly stuff they do. but keep in mind: suju are singers, not comedians. they have to stick to singing if they want to be labeled as singers.

    congrats to dbsk!

  138. 138 sara A February 24, 2008 at 5:52 am

HMM. My guess was true as well. Popseoul is a DBSK fan base. No wonder poseoul keep bashing suju for their DBSK oppas. Little cassopians are this mean. Even though I like DBSK as well but I cant see popseoul keep bashing suju. Lille cassopias.

    It’s all phoney to me.

I mean, is this weird to say, but think Britney spears, Madonna, Mariah Carey, gosh, even Whitney houston.

Their fanbase is smaller than DBSK??? I mean, puh-leases!!!

  142. 142 jaelune March 10, 2008 at 5:31 pm

its so freaking true!!! there’s this service available in britain where you can text them on the latest world records. there was a dispute on soompi about this…and somebody on LJ settled it out. which should make every tvxq fan proud. i mean, those were only the official ones… XD

  143. 143 Cath March 11, 2008 at 6:53 am

I don’t get why a lot of people are saying that ELFs or SUJU fans are crying over this news. I’m a SUJU fan (although not an official ELFs) and I’m not crying my heart out or even care about this.

“They have more than twice the members and they failed to gather twice as many fans.” => just because SUJU has more members than DBSK doesn’ mean they have to gather twice as many fans. It’s like saying since DBSK is five people, so they have to have wayyyy (five times more) more fans than Boa or Elvis presley.

Also, the fact that DBSK has way more fan doesn’t mean anything. SUJU is better in every way than DBSK for me. I said “for me” only, so if you a DBSK fan or cassiopeia, no need to bash me down or trash talk. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

  144. 144 randomdbskfan March 12, 2008 at 12:13 pm

POPSEOUL FAILED AS A RESOURCE FOR KOREAN ENTERTAINMENT AND STYLE.

    You know it.

  146. 146 lord_jedi March 21, 2008 at 2:50 pm

First of all, this news is true. Second, how come you compared DBSK and SuJu popularity when DBSK debuted 2 years earlier than SuJu? Of course DBSK is much more popular internationally. If SuJu’s fan is as much as them, it’s an insult for them instead since their dongsaeng in music industry is much more popular and successful than them.

SuJu is following the same success than DBSK experience. Just give them time, they will prove to everybody that they can be like DBSK. Many doubt of their success when they early debuted but they instead prove everybody wrong AGAIN and AGAIN.

And SuJu does not intend to be only singers. Since their members are a lot, they also ventures in other things as well, not only focusing on music. DBSK care if people can them idols instead of singers. But not SuJu since they also expert in other areas as well.

~ BTW, I heard how biased PopSeoul is. I guess it’s true after all….

  147. 147 JesS March 24, 2008 at 6:29 pm

    yea!!
    of course it’s true!!!
i’m so proud of these boys!!
    they really rocks!!
    n that’s really only the official ones…
think of how many unofficial ones outside there… =)

  148. 148 Mei_fang March 26, 2008 at 10:57 am

    @lord_jedi
yes i agree with you… TVXQ is more experienced than suju… they have been in entertainment industry 2 years longer than suju… now what suju get is like what tvxq get in 2005-2006… please they will doing more activities in China and Taiwan this year… same like what TVXQ did in Japan in 2006…

so to all SUJU antifans please shut up, esp. POPSEOUL…

SO BAD AND UNLUCKY TO HAVE A CASSIOPEIA LIKE YOU!!
