Rain partners up with William Morris Agency

Rain_20080211_popseoul

Rain is trying hard to offer us some real information regarding his US plans, since he failed to do so in the past. Apparently, JTune and William Morris Agency (WMA) agreed to form a strategic relationship today, February 11th and they’ll fill us in on the details later this week on Wednesday, February 13th.

It’s great to hear that Pinky has a plan, but I wonder how good (or bad) it is. Can’t want to hear all about his plans on Wednesday.

So there’s really going to be a Rain as well as Se7en debut this year? Wonder what they’ll do to promote? Is America on the verge of an Asian invasion? Like the Beatles making a name for themselves way back when, can these guys dream to make it big here amongst Americans? I guess we’ll find out by the end of the year. My feeling is though that it’s just all talk, and there will be very little action…

whats the WMA? Ayoe theres a post a while back where they compared Rain and JYP to Pinky and the Brain… JYP was the brain and Rain was obviously PINKY and they have been calling him that ever since… It’s quite endearing actually LOL
I like when people call him Drizz too… If his name Rain doesn’t work out he should seriously consider that!

  11. 13 Jackie February 11, 2008 at 6:39 pm

OOOPs not Ayoe but selina… srry

William Morris Agency, or WMA,is the largest diversified talent and literary agency in the world, according to Wikipedia

Rain and Se7en both need to understand that in order to conquer the music industry in the states, they must first conquer the music industry in ASIA, which rain has done to a certain degree, but after departing with JYP is now going down in his career.

  14. 16 BKJSuh February 11, 2008 at 8:42 pm

    Not really.

You mean departing away from JYP made him harder for him to break through American industry. He still is hyped in Asia.

Anyways, that’s what I keep saying, don’t bother coming to America unless you conquer the whole region.

  15. 17 popseoul February 11, 2008 at 10:22 pm

corrected to feb – thanks all

  16. 18 j February 11, 2008 at 10:51 pm

Yea exactly, thats my point, conquer the whole region, rain has yet to work on his english skills for gods sake =_=;; and se7en isnt even that big in asia anymore. If they cant handle asia, no chance in the states

  17. 19 kylie February 12, 2008 at 1:07 am

we still have yet to see how his English skills have improved. I guess we’ll have to wait until speed racer comes out to confirm.

btw, his teeth are so pretty ^_^

  18. 20 Raye February 12, 2008 at 4:54 am

How did Rain bombed? Some of you guys are stupid.

But anyway thats a cool picture of him.

  19. 21 Jackie February 12, 2008 at 6:08 am

Why do they need to conquer Asia to do the US? They already have large fan bases in Asia. Making more fans in Asia won’t help them anymore.. On the other hand, if they succeed in the US it’s like a free pass for fame around the whole world! The most famous American stars are also among the biggest world stars… I cannot think of an exception to that rule! Also American stars, while they do work very hard… can take vacations, years between albums if they want! And they can stay famous and keep a career the whole world over..where as in Asia it’s so cut throat that if you’re not constantly releasing albums and promoting your career is over! If Asian stars can make it here and propel themselves to the status of American stars then that will give them cushioning for their careers!

    rain… i still love you..
    S@ranq#@3~

  21. 23 penguin_x3 February 12, 2008 at 8:12 am

i think he’ll definitly succeed in life, just because he’s made some mistakes doesn’t mean he cant fix it…like my korean teacher always says “failure in the mother of success”

  22. 24 Syia February 12, 2008 at 9:17 am

“Making more fans in Asia won’t help them anymore.. On the other hand, if they succeed in the US it’s like a free pass for fame around the whole world.”

I agree. Not many people America would care if they were popular in Asia. If they have good music and marketing, then anything is possible.

Kind of offtopic, I’m surprised DBSK have several fans in Europe (or at least judging from polls). Lol, I would like to see how they would do in America.

  23. 25 selina February 12, 2008 at 11:45 am

    Oh! Thanks Jackie! :)

  24. 26 Kitsune February 12, 2008 at 1:06 pm

    ohh that’s great!
    Luck to RAIN!!!!

    @Syia
Yeah DBSK has a lot of fans around the world
    here in Latin America too!

  25. 27 donutpuffs February 12, 2008 at 1:30 pm

O_O…that photo looks hardcore! I wish him the best of luck

  26. 28 taebin February 12, 2008 at 3:03 pm

How many million dollars must he pay to WMA, that they will promote him?
People will not forget that they lost so much money by his canceled concerts and many people are waiting for the ticket-refunds!

  27. 29 yow February 12, 2008 at 8:24 pm

    WAY TO GO RAIN!

I think this site hadn’t really completed the report that WMA is a very successful agency handling the world’s most famous artists.

  28. 30 kylie February 13, 2008 at 11:35 am

    @ Jackie and Syia,

Having a huge fan-base in Asia is EXTREMELY important! Yeah, the American public won’t care about their fanbase in Asia, but in order to be supported or picked up by a big American music company, the artist have to AT LEAST show huge popularity in their own countries, or else the artist would be a liability to the music company.

  29. 31 ed February 13, 2008 at 3:07 pm

dude looks like baby-byj in the speedracer presscon today. wth!
