Today was the big day when Rain unleashed his plans to take over the world after teasing us about his partnership with William Morris Agency on Monday.
Rain will begin promoting Speed Racer and Kungfu Panda which will hit the theaters in May and June 2008 respectively. Then our favorite ESL student will fly back to Asia to release his album in time in time for the Beijing Summer Olympics and produce two new groups for JTunes. Rain is also set to take the lead role in another Wachowski Brothers film named Ninja Assassin in March. No word yet on the movie plot.
The Bae Yong Joon look-alike definitely has a lot on his plate and he’s obviously overdoing it to compensate for his 2007 failures, but his “grand” 2008 plans look like another formula for a disaster.
But I give Rain props for securing his next role in Ninja Assassin before Speed Racer rolls out, because we all know that his opportunities in Hollywood can be scarce.
FYI, William Morris Agency (WMA) previously represented Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe and actors, writers, directors for several blockbuster movies like Spider Man 3, X-Men and Kill Bill and was in charge of production and distribution of several popular television programs like 24, and Lost. Popular singers like Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys and Eminem are currently signed under WMA.

asian r well known for martial art and action skils , we r the best in the world when it comes to that , so whats the problem if our heros bortrayd such characters on screen ???!! does that make them less important than others or less smart ?? do i have to be csi agent to be smart !!?
above all that , rain is making his baby steps into hollywood , and im sure he has a plan , and as we all know he bortrayed different character with each drama , even his latest korean film , he is a true pro , so what makes u think he will repeat himself in hollywood !!??

American won’t change their mind about Asian simply because Asian play the roles of lawyer, surgeons etc in MOVIES because they are just roles!!
As long as Rain acts well as a ninja, then people will accept him as an actor with good acting skills, I can’t see any problem with that.

no problem if you’re satisfied with being stereotyped into a martial artist role. asia has produced some of the world’s greatest surgeons, researchers, scientists, etc, but why do you think we’re only known for martial arts?
if you truly want americans to stop controlling things (whatever that means), then you have to stop the stereotyping. i guess if you only live on the surface, it won’t matter to you that “our” heroes are martial artists.

When he played in “I´m a Cyborg” , there was hope that he will play character roles. For me – he sold his soul to Hollywood by playing in Speed Racer and Ninja Assassin .

So, now that Rain got a main role, haters are again criticizing. Before you had doubts that he will get a main role, now that he has one, you want to him to be this and that. Before, you’re all blabbing why he isn’t doing anything, and now that he revealed his plans, you’re saying that he can’t do all that and that’s just too many for him to handle/do. Never satisfied, are we? Or you just can’t accept it that this guy has done and is doing what you think he couldn’t.

Dorkie? Methinks he is experimenting, and the look somewhat makes him more serious-looking which is nice. In fact he can even have a 2 by 4 hairstyle and could carry it with aplomb! He is just exuding sex appeal no matter what – floppy hair or not, glasses or sans glasses
For what its worth, I think he suits the look. With that face and physique, he knows he does

It is called the X-factor here in the UK. It is something similar to charisma. Rain has plenty of it!!!

It is the quiet confidence too, I reckon. I mean, he is flashy without being extreme, and he seems to possess a humility which is missing in many stars these days. I think the fact that he struggled in the early days somewhat makes him realize that he is blessed and should not allow success go to his head too much. He looks like a pretty decent young man who knows what he wants and is not afraid to attain it through endless hardwork and perseverance. I do hope he conquers the Western world, and would not consider himself a failure by any means if he doesn’t make it there. That said, the signs are positive that he is making great progress by landing roles in the two Wachowski bros films. Man, I so want to see him be a success (not that he isn’t already), for if anyone deserves it, he sure does!

i knew he was different specially in way he smiles , there is a famous saying ” keep smiling , coz u never know who will fall in love with ur smile !! ” its true that i did fall inlove with his smile coz it came straight from the heart , it touches u warmly , no fake thing could affect u that much .
he is the kind of guy i would love to call him at night crying over a bad day , who i would tell him my secrets , who i would grap acup of coffee with in a rainy day and stay peacfully quite for hours simply saying nothing ,
he is that kinda guy , i see him like that , not contaminated by all the showbiz fuss around him .
wish him all the best and i have all the faith in world in him , if his early hard days didnt break him , nothing that will ever happend now will break him , im sure of that .
It’s just wonderful to hear all the man’s plans after all that drama in the last year or so. Exciting times these are, for the man and his team, and not to mention his faithful followers. The phoenix has indeed risen from the ashes and this is best encapsulated by the following I reckon:
