JoA, the cyber actress, is still around and her management company is maintaining interest by releasing new pictures and clips of the cyber BoA wannabe. D&L Entertainment released JoA’s Valentines day pictures and a clip of her kissing her cyber boyfriend and her fans are demanding more.
POPSEOULers, forgive me for placing that Elves and the Cassiopeias on the top of the crazies list because JoA’s fans, who fantasize about a cyber actress and get excited over animation clips, clearly own that #1 spot. Congratulations JoA fans!

Her fans are crazier than the fans of TVXQ and Super Junior? Now that is just plain pathetic and weird. At the same time, it’s really sad because it shows how materialistic people are these days. Rather than accepting the flaws of others, they rather fantasize over something they see on screen. Creepy, and yet, hilarious (in the bad way).
That’s right sf, consider all the Final Fantasy characters otakus, this thing attracting fans is nothing new or startling. I find it ironic that some people dismiss this idea because it’s ‘materialistic’. This blog and it’s contents are about materialism, thus, its readers read about materialism obviously because they care about it on some level. Gossiping about celebrities is one form of “fantasizing something people see on screen”, for example. What makes this worse than idol-worshiping a person some of you will never meet? It makes all the more sense to develop more cyber-base concepts since most information is digitalized and globalized.
If they’re gonna make a cyber actress, at least make her gorgeous. This girl just looks funny.

i think they tried this when i was little, like 10 years ago. i remember there was a rumor that the cyber whatever she was died b/c of a virus but anyway, this is just freaky.

Well, Popseoul may be materialistic in writing about JoA and celebrities, but they are satirizing the ridiculous, shallow entertainment industry in Korea by constantly criticizing and making fun of them. There is a difference, even though it’s pretty thin.
