When bad perms happen to (good?) people

20080307_chaejinshil4

Looks like Chae Jin-shil is packing something on top of her head and storing some extra nuts in her cheeks. The chipmunk-cheeked actress is starring in a new weekend drama, My last scandal as a divorcee who takes all sorts of work from CF actress to house cleaner to pay for her daughter’s school tuition.

No stylish mother in her right mind would have such a bad perm…but the “filled” cheeks, on the other hand, may be acceptable since she looks “younger.”

  3. 3 doyourresearch March 6, 2008 at 9:30 am

    do your research popseoul!!
its for a role in a movie!
it’s about an all womens handball team
it also stars that lady from lovers in paris.

  4. 4 soju March 6, 2008 at 10:03 am

movie or not, that hairstyle is definitely not flattering!

  5. 5 blossom March 6, 2008 at 10:17 am

What’s with all the bad ahjooma perms lately? I was looking at pics of Eugene for Three Dads, One Mom and the perm was seriously unflattering… though not quite as bad as this one.

  7. 7 Evercool March 6, 2008 at 10:26 am

    she looks cute.

  8. 8 spin March 6, 2008 at 10:50 am

    eh…

    no

and I’m a fan of curly hair…but not perms.

(this sort of reminds me of my dad in the 80’s or 70’s…. dyed his wonderful straight, black asian hair into a chestnut reddish brown, and permed it >.<)

  9. 9 bored girl March 6, 2008 at 10:52 am

omg… she looks so bad with perm.. esp cuz her hair is so short. but her face still looks really young which is nice

  10. 10 lightbug March 6, 2008 at 11:18 am

i thought it was a wig at first.. but haha, nope!

at least it’s just for tv or something, it’s what her character called for then, and not of her own decision

in the other pictures, she kind of makes me think of those “starving artists” living in a studio apartment in new york

  11. 11 lalaland March 6, 2008 at 11:18 am

she’s cute.. but wow the hair o.o

  12. 12 £ğöçεή†яỉǺ≈ ŁąñЕ TAE March 6, 2008 at 11:36 am

  13. 13 £ğöçεή†яỉǺ≈ ŁąñЕ TAEJUS March 6, 2008 at 11:37 am

  14. 14 wriXeL March 6, 2008 at 11:41 am

yea i definitely don’t think this is a good look for her…

  15. 15 joyce March 6, 2008 at 11:45 am

    doyourresearch :
you should do your research too..
its for a drama not a movie, popseoul got it right..

here you can find more pics of her with that hairstyle here:

I always thought she looked like lee hyori.
Kinda sad now how hyori looks about the same age as choi jin shil.

  17. 17 ed March 6, 2008 at 12:13 pm

ooh she’s cute enough to be a pet!
i think the handball movie is by another actress (a rather manly one.)

  18. 18 Ann*e March 6, 2008 at 12:58 pm

    omo.
    that’s really…
    not flattering. >___<

  19. 19 lim33853 March 6, 2008 at 2:23 pm

it doesnt matter if its a drama or a movie, PETA will be boycotting it.

wearing a dead animal on top of your head is inexcusible.

  20. 20 sweetie15 March 6, 2008 at 2:30 pm

its not that flattering but it looks good on her compared to others!
just imagined myself with this hair! SCARY! lol

  21. 21 Jen March 6, 2008 at 5:00 pm

she needs to chill with the Botox.

  22. 22 Maashallah March 6, 2008 at 5:36 pm

stay away from the Afro bb.

  23. 23 monalisa March 6, 2008 at 6:58 pm

I’ve never considered Ms Choi a beauty, but here, you can see she has a beautiful smile (and nice teeth).

  24. 24 monalisa March 6, 2008 at 7:04 pm

    To: doyourresearch
If you mean Forever the Moment, the leads are Moon So-ri and Kim Jung-eun. Ms. Choi’s not in this movie.

  25. 25 Orchid March 6, 2008 at 8:21 pm

    that’s a wig right?

  26. 26 Ella March 7, 2008 at 1:51 am

    Her hairstyle looks too comical!
Who would have such a hair-do in real life?
    Please…..no more surreal comedy here!
    Sick of it.

  27. 27 Song March 7, 2008 at 2:32 am

Looks somewhat cute, but weird, hey, didn’t eugene get her hair permed also in her new movie?

  28. 28 for real March 7, 2008 at 8:25 am

    she doesn’t look SO bad.

I notice she has no wrinkles on her neck…is there such thing as tightening that area like how they do it with face lifts?

she looks young for her age.

  29. 29 Ria March 7, 2008 at 2:27 pm

I actually think she looks cute; like lil orphan Annie or something. What looks bad about it?

  30. 30 Not Really March 7, 2008 at 11:47 pm

She needs pomade. That and a diffuser for her blow dryer.

  31. 31 shk4ever March 8, 2008 at 1:29 am

ha ha! that’s hilarious. i love it.

i give props to anyone who’s got the balls to go out looking like that, so to speak.

  32. 32 oluchi March 10, 2008 at 6:11 pm

“Looks like Chae Jin-shil is packing something on top of her head and storing some extra nuts in her cheeks.”

LMAO. i swear to God you should do stand up. Like they should put you on a stage, flash pictures of actresses and actors behind you and you can say stuff about them.

  33. 33 tenchou March 16, 2008 at 11:59 am

    aw i think her hair’s cute….
