With White Day (March 14th, 2008) right around the corner, Super Junior are set to release a J-pop compilation, “Sweet Memories with Super Junior” on March 13th, 2008.
Song selections include “Close your eyes” by the sexy Ken Hirai from the movie, “Crying out Love, In the center of the World.” Dong Hae chose Do As Infinity’s “Would you marry me”. Lee Teuk, the liar, picked Orange Range’s “Flower.” A total of 18 songs.
Not sure who Super Junior wants to target this album but it’s obvious that they want to focus on the bigger Japanese market. Way to ignore the Korean fans.
For Valentines Day last month, Girls Generation also released a “Sweet Memories” compilation.

They are actually trying to promote Avex(co-coord. with LSM) in Korea. LSM is trying to milk every cent he can from his artist.

lawsuits are not going to happen because they bought rights to use these songs and most of them come from Avex Trax with is a company that LSM sends all his artist to, to debut in Japan.
Oh and no they are not focusing on Japan, they are focusing more on China. Their chinese album with drop next month.

Okay, so it’s a cheap shot to get more money… But I don’t think SM is ‘targeting the Japanese market and neglecting their Korean fans’. Instead, they have this compilation album for Korean fans to listen to, and introduce them to music they might not otherwise have known. There’s another album coming out, Heart 2 Heart With Super Junior, which is the same concept except with American songs chosen by the Suju boys.
And, honestly, the ‘Leeteuk the Liar’ stuff is getting old. REALLY old. Get over it, already… it was ONE incident, months ago.

I think the compilation album idea is good actually; I think it’s interesting to find out what my favorite artists are listening to. And if LSM makes money off of it, well, quite frankly, why shouldn’t he? He’s entitled to make every cent he can off of the bands he makes, just a long as he doesn’t hurt the artists or anything. They’re his bands. He’s invested in them, and they know that.

Old news, yes, especially for the fans. And as much as I love the boys, a compilation of songs from other artists is no go for me, even if they chose the songs themselves (which I highly doubt - but if they DID, then LOOOOOL at Yesung choosing a Britney Spears song and Jessica Simpson’s “Public Affair” and Eunhyuk’s “I Like Sexy Girls” xDDD). I’d probably just buy it for the jacket (they all look amazing and Yesung looks adorable), but other than that, noooo, thanks.

…ELF isn’t the target market here but Jpop fans who can’t listen to their Jpop idols because Jpop can’t be played on radio as per government regulation. They had to use the SuJu members to cover up this underhanded attempt to bypass this ruling. ELF shouldn’t even bother to boycott this after all their idols aren’t singing the songs, they just lent their names and some of the selections were by Tohoshinki and Boa, Korean Avex artists too…Some Koreans are Jpop fans as you can see when Arashi, the popular Japanese boy band group, held their concert in 2006. The first Jpop group to do so and successfully at that.
